  1. I look forward to the twelve year college basketball veteran trying to hang on long enough to become fully vested in the state’s pension system if we ever go to employment contracts. That will just make you feel all warm inside. You can’t put a limit on eligibility years when talking about employment contract. Try to do that and you will lose in court.
  2. When you want people to give you money, at least have the decency to acknowledge you have received their RSVP to what you are billing as a private event. That type of thing should be automatic.
  3. It appears to me Billikenbooster and Young Charles have tried to RSVP and has received no confirmation back. The X post makes it clear that it is a private event. I assume they don't want to show up and be turned away.
  4. Everyone has been asked to RSVP. Did you attempt to RSVP and receive a confirmation back?
  5. They don't have the event listed on the BVF website or any posts about on their Instagram account either. So if you aren't on X and following their X account, you don't know this event is happening. I guess that doesn't matter if they are not getting back to people about how to attend. If BVF was a real business, it would have went bankrupt because of incompetency. It does look like they are getting ready to role out a tier membership program, finally, that gets you different stuff depending on the donation. Hopefully when it goes live it will have a recurring donation option to encourage more people to join the different tiers by spreading out the payments. That would ultimately raise a lot more money. You can't get to it through the website yet, but you can see what it looks like now by clicking this direct link: https://billikenvictoryfund.com/store-w%2Ffans/ols/products
  6. He would be a great fit now and two years ago.
  7. Most teams wouldn't play him as a traditional big man, but as a stretch 4 on offense. He would be damn good in that role. That said, this system fits his talents best.
  8. I think Abdur Rahim Al Mattin who was a JUCO transfer early in the Grawer era was 30 in his final season. I could be off on that because I was a kid then, but I have always remembered hearing that. I think he served 8 years in the Army before he decided to play college basketball.
  9. it is legal if the student is not actively working for the money. Student visa holders can legally earn royalties and passive income while in school.
  10. They can even get paid for the use of their name, image and likeness back home during the season. Just the whole transaction needs to take place in the other country. Say a kid from Australia is getting paid by an Australian company for the use of his NIL back home and the check is deposited in the kid’s Australian bank account, that wouldn’t violate his visa. He just can’t be doing work in the US for that money.
  11. Great new and the first domino to fall on the roster.
  12. The fact that they had Pikaar in for a visit makes me think that Nitu is less than certain
  13. Pretty strong endorsement from Pitino for his former captain.
  14. Yes, what would have been an elite spend last year among the P5 won't be elite next season, but will still be really good P5 spending. 247 had a good article Wednesday talking about P5 average spends last season and expected average spends next season.
  15. I didn't throw the specific number amount out there because I'm not sure what those dollar amounts actually include. For instance I don't believe the higher number (it was crazy) has any chance of being accurate if we are just talking about what the guys will get this coming season, but it could very well be accurate if we are talking about the combined value of all the seasons included in the deals they sign. I have a feeling the second number might be right when it comes to the total value of the compensation of what the guys might get next season, but I don't know how much of that is actual cash and how much of it includes the value of other stuff included in the deal for things like car leases. So if you throw an actual dollar amount out there people might take it for something it actually isn't supposed to be without the proper context of what it all includes.
  16. Mark Pope to UK? Jesus, how the mighty have fallen.
  17. Avila is going to be an All-American by the time he is done. Not many bigger Rob Loe fans than me, but Avila is already light years ahead of Rob at his best.
  18. I don't know what to tell you. I don't think you really understand how much some of SLU"s boosters are really worth. These aren't the type of people that will be making NIL spends through a collective website. This isn't just Chaifetz that has stepped up. I have heard two different numbers for what will be available for SLU to spend on NIL this season. The lower of those two numbers would have put SLU among the very elite of P5 basketball NIL spending last season. Will Texas spend more this coming season than SLU will? Sure they could, I am sure they have the means to and they probably will. Also just because the money is available that doesn't mean SLU will spend every last penny of it. That still doesn't mean SLU won't be able spend just as much or more than Texas when it comes to what they are willing to spend on a specific player both programs are targeting. Being willing to spend that money doesn't even mean that SLU would land that player. There are many kids that would rather play for Texas at the end of the day.
  19. SLU isn’t losing any of their targets because they can’t compete with the dollars offered. That doesn’t mean they will get everyone they target, but they won’t lose out because they couldn’t compete financially. Plus, why does everyone forget SLU has their own oil money?
  20. It is crazy. The guys who evaluate talent for a living have us as top 25 team next season based on getting the majority of the ISU players, but people on here think only top 4 in the conference. If we end up with a roster similar to what the one suggested was possible, that team should be the conference favorite.
  21. over his last 6 games Goodwin is averaging 12 ppg, 10.8 rpg and 5 apg.
  22. I'll read anything from someone that has us in the top 25 at anytime. I don't care if we have a roster or not at this point.
