  1. I do and so do many others. What makes you respond in such a way? If you're not at all interested, leave it alone.
  2. I do recall that he went to CBC and played on the 1960 state championship team.
  3. Pistol, I'm on board with your logic. But don't get into a battle of wits with Postie...he's only half-armed.
  4. Roy, I rarely post and have generally supported your opinions in the past. But, I agree, it's getting really old my friend...and quite childish at this point.
  5. I assume that Andy Strickland's retraction is forthcoming?
  6. Postie, Just because you don't care about something, it's arrogant to suggest that no one else should either. Talk about cluttering up a message board...look in the mirror, son. It's a big world out there with fine people with many different interests and opinions to share. An innocent post like this (which I enjoyed, by the way) should not invoke such behavior. Makes you look silly and narrow minded. Get out of your basement occassionally.
  7. Well stated, Doc. You certainly speak for me.
  8. And could be A-10's POY. Any feeling on whether she will return for her senior season? With upcoming marriage and new hubby possibly headed to Europe to play basketball, I heard it's iffy.
  9. cheeseman is spot on. I've never heard a PA announcer who brought so much attention to himself. It's so unprofessional that I'm almost embarrased for him sometimes.
  10. Cheryl did a terrific job in upgrading these other sports, which for too many years were mediocre at best. The university should not allow these programs to slip back again. Having consistantly strong teams in volleyball, baseball etc. I think uplifts every other sport in the program.
  11. cheeseman, That's my situation too (on the bubble with pending travel plans) and why I called when it wasn't in the mail. I know that another week delay won't be a problem for most folks but would be concerned if the pre-established rules are being manipulated. Don't like to think they'd do that, but hard to refuse a contribution, albeit after the deadline.
  12. That's what I thought too...how could anyone's ranking be still subject to change at this point? If they're casually changing the rules, this could lead to some bad feelings and I don't think that's what they'd want.
  13. Also, she could not give me my time over the phone because it might yet change.
  14. I just spoke with Margo. They will be sent out "hopefully this week". She said whoever said Tuesday was misinformed.
  15. "I correctly pointed out that you didn't know what you were talking about"...Postie, go back to your Logic 101 and look up "begging the question". Aristoltle called it "circular reasoning". I think you get the idea.
  16. Wrong, young man. Come back when you actually have some life experience to apply. There's many things you understand so little about, which is understandable at your tender age, but why do you insist on making an ass out of yourself so often?
  17. It's not about showing how tough you are. It's about teaching your kids that actions have consquences...something called "parenting". Someday you guys may understand that. I hope for your kid's sake you do. He/she will be better for it.
  18. However, V, this is new news. "He's not my hero..I'm not applauding"...that's pretty tepid. Step up for a change. Irons has absolutely no redeeming virtues...none! And all of his self-righteous, race card-pulling crap looks very embarrassing now, don't you agree? He deserves everything he's getting.
  19. Rich, I too was astounded at that response. I think if you asked V whether he'd rather have his son play for Anthony Bonner or Floyd Irons, he'd still say something like "it depends on whether he's a forward or guard". V knows his basketball, but I'm afraid he's pretty shallow otherwise.
  20. I also think nark's idea makes good sense. That way the entire donation gets credited to a single account and thus maximizes the "ranking" benefit for the whole group. But, yes, some has to get kicked back by the account owner to the individuals, 'cause he's the one who gets the tax deduction.
  21. Although the donation will be made in your name, and thus you get the tax deduction, will you be asking your brother to kick in?
  22. The information given was that the separate arena fee was "approximately 80% tax deductible".
  23. I have six tickets in my name that I've shared with five others for many years. In the past, they just made their check payable to me and I wrote one check to SLU. How best to handle this now? Is the tax deduction applicable to just the season ticket holder of record or can each of my buddies take it individually? This may have a slight bearing on whether some of them will be priced out of the new arena and I want to give them the correct information. Thanks.
  24. From the few times I've met Brad, I couldn't disagree more. I have nothing to offer him at all, but he's always been very gracious. For all the homage given to Spoonhour, I've run into him on a couple of occassions and he was always very dismissive. Just my personal experiences, for what it's worth.
