  1. >I hadn't brought up Cheesman or >Slu72's name when they took a shot at me. > >I'm sorry I will not now or ever let Roy get away with being >a whining ninny. I fairness,it looks to me like your open letter to roy got the ball rolling on this thread.
  2. Seriously, calm down, VTIME. You're all wrought up. A thing is what it is, it's not something else. We're in the A10.
  3. Take a look at the itinieries which are in the back of the media guide. Many of the team's trips are taken by flight. Some are on chartered flights. My point is, why is this instance an issue? I would submit that it's only an issue because posters on this board are constantly looking for problems which may or may not exist. If your complaint is that the administration has a small time attitude, that may be valid. A bus trip to Cincinati is hardly an exemplar of that attitude. Particularly, since as was previously noted, you don't know the full story. I sincerely doubt if any recruits are aware of the mode of transportation to this particular tournament, unless they read it here.
  4. To what administrations are you referring? Those nameless, faceless institutions that we can only dream to emulate? The inferiority complex on this board is incredible. If the Coach or players were complaining, that would be one thing, but you guys are looking for reasons to get excited. If you don't like the administration, the players, the coach or Fr. Biondi, what exactly are you fans of?
  5. You know, there is a finite number of scholarships available. V, you seem to want to sign every high schooler in the area with a modicum of talent. Why don't you definitively state who you believe the Bills should go after, after taking into account the number of spots available and after considering that every Vashon player gets a schollie? Do you really think we need another 5' 9" guard?
  6. > >The neutral site should have ballooned spread to SJ by 6. >The fact it is only 4 means we have closed it by 2 and >should do better against them this time. At least the odds makers and the betting public think so. What does the point spread have to do with the probability of winning or losing?
  7. I believe that Moore and Rogers played together on the Spirits of St. Louis. Also, was anyone else in the NBA when Robin Jones played for Portland?
  8. It's always been seriously wrong. The power conferences have perpetuated their stranglehold on the RPI and the tournament on the strength of their teams playing one another in conference games. The system is self perpetuating. If you recall, Grawers teams in the 80s could never improve their RPI once the conference season in the MCC began, regardless of their record. Why it took so long for a conference to figure out the scheduling system is beyond me. Of course, figuring it out and getting acceptable deals with teams from the power conferences for games is another matter. There is also the the small matter of actually winning those games against teams with a RPI of 150 or better. This is why I feel that an adjustment to the RPI is inevitable. The Big East, ACC, Big 10,12, etc. won't allow this sort of inroad to their dominance on Selection Sunday. It also may be that the MVC has a hard time scheduling from here on out.
  9. How do we know that Griffey has been offered?
  10. Careful. This is exactly the type of thread that Flyfan-idiot buzzes around.
  11. Allowing sub .500 teams is idiotic, imo. A pure money grab. I would have have otherwise thought the Bills a lock for the NIT. A lack of regional rivals similiarly situated is a drawback, particularly with the availability of Savvis uncertain. By the way, I wonder how vulnerable Creighton is feeling this morning?
  12. > > >" I'm going to suggest to her that they only use 2 refs on >the floor and the other can sit in the open seat next to me. >It is very obvious that the view is better. " Good one > > > Official Billikens.com sponsor of H. >Waldman
  13. I do believe in the newcomer theory. It seems like we get hosed as the new kids on the block. Last night's game was a joke. I know I'm a homer, but the ending was horrific. Sadly, there is no reason to believe it will be any better in the conference tourney. I looks like we need decisive victories.
  14. My recollection is that a player can participate in up to 4 games and still obtain a medical redshirt, but perhaps someone has a more definitive answer.
  15. I agree. Frank's certainly enthusiastic about the Bills.
  16. All you guys need help. It was a great win. Enjoy it.
  17. Exactly. Causing some kind of stir is a good thing. Particularly since, imo, we can improve next year. The team can only do what it can do with the remaining games.
  18. My point is let's win out to the tourney final and give the committe a reason to include us. Who knows if they will, but it would be good to be on the bubble for this team and program. That would be be an enormous step up from winning nine games and being picked 13th in the conference.
  19. Who knows? Sometimes, in some cases, it seems to count for quite a bit. It probably depends on whether the committee wants a second team from the A10, imo. Building a case for them certainly doesn't hurt. There's some ESPN talk recently about the MOVal being overrated, but I don't know how much effect that has either.
