I've already completely given up on Reggie (Go see my angry typing in gameday threads). I would be more encouraged if he was a normal sophomore, but he is 22 years old. His coordination is just not there and he travels every time he touches the ball. It's June, so I hope he is working on his big man game and does not think he is going to catch it at the top of the key and drive to the hoop. Right now I really just want him to provide Grandy Glaze value (but with a good attitude).

I sincerely hope that SLU hired an outside designer like Under Armor or Nike. I would buy a ton of stuff if a design firm stepped up and created some type of Billiken logo that rivals those at Arizona St, Maryland, etc. Right now I feel like SLU manufactured a million pieces of clothing in 1983 and now they are just slowly working off the inventory...

This theory makes the most sense. I actually love the tactic. Crews isn't going to lie to FBJT about making this deal. The dialogue where Tatum says, "offer Barnes first, and then that will help me make my decision", does not sound like a situation that could logically occur. The Crews regime is about to earn an A+ in recruiting or an F. I cannot see them awarding anything in between.

This board sure does write off some recruits right away...Bishop and Welmer has 0% chance of amounting to anything according to this board. Youtube video scouting is an amazing thing. As a fan/mbm, I am in favor of just letting Tatum choose his own roster, be player/coach, and all that stuff...However, there has to be some cutoff point where someone/somewhere needs to look past the one-Tatum year...and keep some program integrity. Regarding point guards, I would like to see an MR develop any semblance of a jumpshot. His quickness is a real nice asset. He is kind of like Luis Mendoza off of the Mighty Ducks (D2). Someone needs to set up a wall of aluminum cans or something to see if he can add coordination to his speed.

But the fact that we do not have a PE major is not a myth. People who cannot read can pass classes at many non-SLU schools. But we don't have that option. We do need these players available 2nd semester.

Fordham gets Nych Smith who has offers from Tennessee, Memphis, UCONN, and Xavier. We get Jermaine Bishop who had offers Fairfield, Columbia, and Norfolk St.

+1 to this. At least when we lose to Kstate it doesn't shock the world (and we get laughed at) like when we lose to TXA&MCC. The optimistic side tells me that at least the Sophomores know what D1 basketball is like. The off-season can give them a lot of time to reflect on their game and be able handle situations differently this year. I especially think this applies to MY. He got off-track last year and really could not mentally gather himself to play well in Feb/March. We still might stink, but the fact that the sophomore class didn't jump ship suggests that we cannot be any worse than last year.

I will look forward to the pre-season prediction thread. There will probably be a 25 win difference in the most optimistic prediction and the most pessimistic...

Geez, everyone else knows our players stink too. I hope we are done recruiting the pretty boys who like selfies more than practicing. Not really surprised Lancona will go D3. He is a non-rebounding stretch 4 who shot about 13% from 3 this year. It is absolutely crazy to think he was getting major mins down the stretch In the tourney win against NC St.

Yea, I am not really sure why this is a shock to us. About 50-75 pages back on this thread, there was discussion that he wanted to get outta town. Not sure why there is any feeling at all that we "lost" this recruit. I might have missed a correction/update though...

My mistake...agree, let's see if it sticks. It has not been mentioned yet, but I do think the line, "It's not my fault your coach left" is some Grade A trash talk.
