  1. makes no sense..Why would they not be interested?
  2. I think if we get to 18 or 19 we have a good shot at the NIT. Is there any possiblily that if we get a NIT home game that it could be at the Chaifetz arena?
  3. Danny Brown's performance coming off of major knee surgery has been nothing short of amazing? Where was this performance earlier in his career? There has been quite a bit of bashing on this board about how RM had stifled some of our players game? To those who complained, what are your thoughts now. Too me DB, BH, Tommie, and even Luke and Kevin, are playing their best basketball of their billiken career. TL's improvement of the defensive end has been amazing and I love the way he is now consistently attacking the basket. Great job RM. let's finish the season strong. Post season basketball is looking more and more possible.
  4. 15-2 4th inning...can't throw strikes, we have walked 10 batters in the first 4 innings.
  5. Soderberg's recruiting was an absolute joke, to spare Roy more anguish, I won't even go into the Josh Harrellson situation again. What must be extremely frustrating to the recent and current Billiken players, is that very few of them have ever been allowed to play in their true position. I get frustrated with BE, but in all fairness, he was rarely ever allowed to play his true position of a 3 or 4. I'm looking forward to having some size and a point guard next year. I predict TL will have a monster year next season.
  6. Earlier in the week, I heard Bob Ramsey and Frank C talking about Cotto. Ramsey said that some of the basketball people he has been talking too say that RC is the best point guard prospect they have seen in the St. Louis area in the last 20 years. Any thoughts on this?
  7. fair assessment, though I still think Ian was a vast improvement over this years group. Despite a disappointing year from our expectations for him, the opposition always respected his ability and usually doubled up on him, which I rarely see with our present group.
  8. Roy, would you take their defense effort of last night every night? I wouldn't...I couldn't help but notice your sarcastic comments about Ian, maybe you and Jack should spend more time together.
  9. Good observations Roy, it was amazing how far they played off Anderson, it was even more than teams do to us with Polk.
  10. I have to disagree, his effort was not decent. His inability to rebound late in the game, even when he had position was inexcusable, and his silly foul late in the game on a put back allowed the game to go into OT.
  11. I'm probably in the minority, and while I am not a fan of the A-10, I would rather be there than the MVC. At least with the A-10 there is a possibility of gaining national respect because of the large marketing base, than is ever possible in the MVC. Now perhaps it will never happen, but I think RM has a chance to take us to a level that we never dreamed possible.
  12. Brian, do you happen to know what BT's stats were for the year?
  13. You imply that RM is not working toward making us better. Where is the evidence of this? Just because a man states an opinion on a topic doesn't mean that he isn't doing his best to build a program. Assembling a top notch staff, having a strong early recruiting class, and improved play on the floor is what I have seen. Why is this not proof to you that this man is committed. I'm really sick and tired of the bashing.
  14. I don't care if our coach is a great story teller or has a "folksy sense of humour". What I want is a coach who can run a clean program, coach, recruit, and win games. My enjoyment comes from watching the team play well on the court. Apparently, he makes a good impression with the people that count the most, and that is the recruits and their families.
  15. Brian, I agree with you to a point that the kids were victims, that said to allow them to continue playing at their respective colleges is wrong. They are in clear violation of the rules. It is a sad fact of life, that the misdeeds of others often hurt the innocent. I hope Irons spends many years behind bars and that others use him as a prime example of why you should do things the right way. As a side note it is my understanding that neither of the Hill brothers is doing very well academically, in fact one left ISU because of his grades and was hoping to return. At some point there has to be some personal accountability.
  16. Im glad Irons has been exposed for what is, a cheating, lying, scumbag. That said, why did it take the Feds nabbing him for his illegal schemes to bring this illegal residency situation to light. Many, many people knew he was cheating, including the St. Louis School Board, and yet they ignored the situation. To the few, who spoke up about this issue, they were classified as rascist. Unfortunately, there are still schools in the St. Louis area who are using illegal players and it is still being ignored. PS, has any one heard of Demetrious Johnson's take on the whole situation? I'm sure he is still portraying him as a hero of the black community. With heroes like this, no wonder why our black community is so screwed up.
  17. Roy, your comments about playing Pitt down to the wire is a little naive. Determining how good a team or an individual is based on one game is silly. Did Pitt play their best game? Did we play looser because there were no expectations? Did we happen to have an above average shooting game? Did Pitt take us lightly? Based on your comments, we should all expect DP to be a lights out shooter the rest of the year based on his recent performance. You are a smart guy, and you must realize that a truly good team or players is based on his consistency and performance over an extended time.
  18. Jack, I'm sorry but I don't remember DP ever being a stellar player, as for Luke, you seem to think that the only reason that Luke's fg% is down is because of the coaching change. I love how you simplify things. I thought that perhaps his fg% was down was because he has been forced to frequently play down low because of the inside ineptness of our current centers. You still, for a reason only known to you, refuse to acknowledge the importance of Ian last year. You still maintain that Bryce = Ian.
  19. Here is where I disagree strongly with you: 1) This team was not ready to win those early games because they hadn't learned RM's offensive and defensive schemes. It is unreasonable to think that a new coach, in just a few weeks, can have a team with limited talent playing at it's best. 2) I don't think that RM has berated our players. Yes he has pointed out their deficiencies, that however is part of being a D! player. Every D1 player will have his game scrutinized in public forums by various people. RM has also continualled praised in a public forum about what good kids he has on this team. As for pointing out publicly about people who show up late for practice, i have no problem with that. Every player on the team has an obligation to do the right thing, apparently the behind the scenes warnings by the previous regime didn't seem to have any effect. It's amazing since the public mention of those who couldn't be on time, the problem seems to have been resolved. 3) As for Brad Soderberg, I have mentioned several times that I think he a fine individual, a decent coach, but a terrible recruiter. I don't see how anyone can argue with that statement.
  20. The one who needs help Roy is you. You have never been able to admit you are wrong because your elitest pride won't allow it. RM is an outstanding coach and his record proves it. The one who can't get over Soderberg is your self.
  21. How in the world can you say that there is similar talent? Ian was a consistent inside threat that the opposition had to account for. Almost every time that Ian touched the ball last year he was double teamed. It's amazing to me how you can minimize his impact on a game. ..and by the way, Ian's ability is apparently good enough to give a professional contract.
  22. So now you call our coach a liar....With fans like you we don't deserve a HOF coach. Face reality Roy, your boy Brad is gone and you are just going to have learn to enjoy having a coach who actually knows how to recruit and win.
  23. Roy, you're bias against RM is amazing....You give him back handed compliments but infer that he allowed this team to lose games that he knew they could win but chose to coach them so they could lose. Every coach tries to win, and no coach has onlly 1 style of play. The main reason we defeated GW last night was not because RM bowed down to the fan's wishes and changed their style, they won because of the suffocating defense that RM has taught them to play. You were obviously a big fan of Brad Soderberg's pack defense, which allowed 3 point shots to be taken at will. RM's defensive philosophy is just the opposite of Brad's which put's a premium on putting pressure on the ball. You are just flat out wrong when you say that RM cost us early games because of poor coaching.
  24. Roy, you make it sound that implementing a new system is an over night process. This team wasn't ready to win early in the season, because they were still learning to play RM's system.
