  1. This is correct - O'Hagans is the official Billiken bar for game watches this season. Garrett is the owner (moved operations from Halsted Harp) and is a great supporter of our efforts and Billiken basketball. We had a test run after our Make a Difference Day event a few weeks ago and we were able to have the entire party room downstairs. We will use that room for larger game watches and special events. We are working on getting a "season beer cup" for discount drafts as well as dates for official game watch events (more food and drinks specials, give-aways, etc.) I will be updating the FB and Twitter feeds with details and will also post here. As always, O'Hagans is the place to meet for all Billiken games; Garrett will have the game on and sound for all games being broadcast on cable.
  2. Frank Cusumano ‏@Frank_Cusumano1h Cameron Biedscheid, the transfer from Notre Dame, is in Columbia right meeting with Missouri coaches. #MIZZOUtigers
  3. Pittino was 35 when he left PC to go to t he NBA and the Knicks. Stevens is 36. Give him 2 years and he'll be at Louisville, Kentucky, UNC, KU, IU, Duke.
  4. More advance scouting: http://www.foxsportsmidwest.com/photo-gallery?gid=27405&gf=740
  5. I would like to see the Butler game too.
  6. My favorite part was talking with AB about partying with him on the 4th floor of Clemens circa 1989.
  7. The owner said he will have the game on Saturday with sound - just can't promise how big the St. Pat's parade crowd will be. They usually have quite a large number of people there since it is an authentic Irish pub and not one that has just an Irish name and stupid green food coloring in cheap beer! He did say the early start at 12:30pm will be better for dealing with the crowds. Sunday (if necessary) is all us! Hope you all can make it!
  8. Agree. The distance (about 5 miles) from where that happened to Barclay's is the same as from Chaefitz to I-70 and Florissant.
  9. Who is expecting to go to Halsted Harp tomorrow to watch the game at 11am? We are trying to determine a general number of participants. They are opening early just for us!
  10. I will be at the game tomorrow. Is there a post-game event?
  11. Anyone know about Friday's telecast in Chicago on Comcast/Xfinity?
  12. Do you know how many sports their athletic department fields? A whopping 24! Most of the Catholic 7 fields 12-16 teams. The ACC is the best landing spot for the Irish: Men's Sports (12) FOOTBALL BASEBALL BASKETBALL CROSS COUNTRY FENCING GOLF HOCKEY LACROSSE SOCCER SWIMMING & DIVING TENNIS TRACK & FIELD Women's Sports (12) LACROSSE SWIMMING & DIVING TENNIS SOCCER BASKETBALL GOLF FENCING CROSS COUNTRY ROWING SOFTBALL TRACK & FIELD VOLLEYBALL
  13. All the ND alums I spoke to and from my own knowledge is that ND could never go to the new BigEast due to their massive number of men and women's teams in Olympic sports. Many of those Catholic schools do not field most of NDs successful Olympic teams. Their athletic budgets are tiny compared to that of the Irish. And this is before mentioning the biggest reason and that is a landing spot bowl game for the football team in the event of not making the Final Four of the BCS in a given year. ND to the new BigEast never would have been a marriage.
  14. Thanks for the tips. Not checking bags. Hotel is really close to Grand Central Terminal. Is taking a cab to Barclays faster than the subway at noon on a Friday?
  15. If my flight is arriving at LaGuardia at 10:35am, our hotel is in mid-town Manhattan and the game is at 12 noon, can I drop off my bags at the hotel and get to the game in time? I assume it would be best to take a cab to the hotel. What would be best way to get to game?
  16. What is best way to purchase tickets to individual sessions?
  17. Does anyone have a recording of it by Dr. Mike and the band? I know I can get another version online, but I was hoping to get one for our game watches in Chicago.
  18. Hope to see everyone at Halsted Harp tonight. I will be there about 9pm. **Need a volunteer next week** I will be going to the conference tournament next week in NYC and might need someone to coordinate the game watches here in Chicago. Please see me tonight if interested.
  19. Saw this posted somewhere this weekend: "ESPN's SportsCenter was required viewing for the sports fan, but now it's a sad mix of debate, viral videos & silly segments."
  20. Why does anyone care where Bilas has SLU in his personal rankings? Let's look at RPI, BPI and the bracketology projections.
  21. We will again be at Halsted Harp for our final regular season "official" game watch party at 8pm. The SLU Alumni office will again be hosting the event. I will be there at halftime after I get back from a SLU college night recruiting event. Hope to see everyone there!
