  1. Yes. 5* is McDonald's All-American. Top 25. And, yes, Larry Hughes Sr. was a McDonald's All-American in 1997. In the Nike Hoop Summit game that year he was the top player. Were you following hoops then?
  2. Would SLU have been on Hasahn French's radar without being in an East-coast league?
  3. No. Ahearn was a Soderberg pass, supplanted by Darren Clarke, according to the RFT writer who referred to him (crudely) as that F-er from Minnesota.
  4. https://www.oregonlive.com/ducks/2020/02/oregon-ducks-mens-basketball-forward-francis-okoro-to-miss-trip-to-oregon-state-to-attend-fathers-funeral.html Let's add some context to those statistics. (Note, I'm not implying you did anything wrong.)
  5. So, at that time, elsewhere, little Brett Jolly was being given a bath, and the rest is history.
  6. Except Okoro will be sitting out 2020-21. If you'd said, "...second Final Four run," then....
  7. It might not mean the programs are comparable, but it does (at least) hint at some parochialism, especially considering that the master's degree should be weighted more heavily than the bachelor's degree.
  8. Is that when the one touche'd by the sword has to answer the next question? "Dual."
  9. Generally speaking, speaking "genetically" violates CDC guidelines these days. *ducks*
  10. I believe when Corey Tate was on the mend after his injury and surgery, Coach Ford lobbied the NCAA to allow Giacoletti to temporarily take over Tate's coaching duties and recruiting privileges.
  11. To avoid confusion, "Name, image, likeness" should be rendered, "NIL," so that "NLI" can continue to be understood to mean, "National Letter of Intent." In my opinion.
  12. The way I remember it, after his aborted attempt to transfer to K-State, he returned to SLU but didn't manage to finish the spring semester.
  13. Actually, Willie Reed did re-enroll when Mitchell did, but he didn't get through the semester.
  14. Not "end of story": SLU has Dr. Chaifetz now; he's not president or athletic director, but he does influence the program significantly.
  15. While it's too bad we'll never get to see what Diarra could contribute to the Bills as an upperclassman, it seemed inevitable. Diarra and Bell play the same position, and they were in the same recruiting class. That doesn't seem like a situation conducive for both to thrive. On top of that, Francis Okoro would be in the same class with both of them after he sits out 2020-21, and he's also a center. Something would have had to give. However, there's a chance or likelihood that Diarra's decision had been made (or agreed upon) before the staff decided to recruit Okoro. I hope Diarra finds a great situation, gets healthy, and goes on to have a productive career (without managing to oust the Bills!).
  16. Ryan Grant. Grawer also recruited a big in that class by the name of Brian Smith. (It was Grant who had bad knees — worse than Welmer's bad feet.)
  17. Not aimed at you, DeSmet, but the Tweeter. Murder, aggravated assault, and battery are certainly bad, and shame on him for committing a felony, but he should get the electric chair, be brought back to life, and then hung, be brought back to life a second time, and then face a firing squad for possession of a fireman! I can't think of a worse offense! How can those we depend on to help us during emergencies do so, if people enslave them while in the midst of committing felonies?! It must stop, I tell you!
  18. Except Indiana has never been in the Big XII, even when the Big Ten has had more than 10 teams and the Big XII has had less than 12 teams.
  19. This is off the topic — and you might have discussed this already, but I have avoided the other thread like the plague we're experiencing — but have you been teaching classes virtually?
  20. They sign a grant-in-aid agreement, I believe.
  21. I believe the post you're referring to was tongue-in-cheek. The pitchforks are coming out over on Tiger bore.
  22. How can an athletic scholarship be considered "income"? Income is something you can decide what to spend it on (even if you have little choice, practically — taxes, rent, insurance, etc.). But you can't take your scholarship and exchange it for some other expense.
  23. You'll "first" need to convince a current scholarship player to leave.
