I might be wrong, but you can recruit a player and be on in him early, without actually offering a scholarship...and we didn't lose out on blake ahearn because sms offered early, he didn't come because we never offered him.

I'm definately one who believes it's silly to offer this early in a kid's high-school career. He's only going to be a sophomore. The kid may not develop the next two years or he may get hurt, you never know.

Walk into the flag shop at Union Station. There you will see flags for just about any college, except SLU. And I'm not just talking about UNC, Kentucky, Duke, but also Fairfield, Providence, Florida A&M, etc.

The biggest question in my mind is who will step up down the stretch this year. If someone (tommie or dwayne?) can be our go to guy with the game on the line and can win the close ball games we'll be okay. If not, we may struggle a little. Last year, we were about 10 pts away from being around .500. Hopefully this year one of the youngsters will be able to step up and be the go-to guy.

I don't even think we were under the impression he'd leave early at all. We all knew he'd be good, just not that good.

Nobody thought Larry was going to be a one and done. Larry played above everybody's expectation that year. We all thought he'd be great, but freshman of the year was not something we thought would happen. Most SLU fans even figured he'd probably stay another year after his first season. Even he made comments that suggested he would stay another year. To say slu knew he would be there for only one year is ridiculous.

Do we have any interest in Petrukonis (and vice versa) that you know of, or is this just a kid you know a little about whom we would love to have, but probably have no chance of getting?

DP will definately start in the beginning, however if he does not get his outside jumper to fall consistently, I definately think it is possible he would become the backup pg.
