  1. >And people wonder why there are personal attacks on this >board. > >It was a simple comment that was based on facts. You both >are twisting and twisting to try and make it look like I >said Drejaj was a better player than Lisch. Either you are >immature or stupid. Re-read the post, Shoe People. I >AGREED with David that Lisch should be playing in front of >Drejaj, but that Drejaj has some stats that were better than >Lisch. > >The shoe sure doesn't fall far from the tree. > >People like you two run off the people who post here. Why? >What are you trying to achieve...? where did either one of us personally attack you. the point of this thread is to debate which player should start. so when you suggest something we don't agree with, we argue against it. There was nothing personal in anything we said. your post however....
  2. >Simple math, my friend: > >.455 > .308 > >Small sample size or not, .455 is MUCH BETTER than .308. Currently, JJ Reddick is 85% from the free throw line but Bryce Husak is 100% from the line. I guess that means Husak's the better free-throw shooter.
  3. I think coach wanted to give the job to Drejaj in the beginning because he's a senior, but eventually Lisch will earn the right to start.
  4. That's the biggest factor. I would like TL to be able to use those long arms on the perimeter instead of inside. One huge element to our lack of being able to defend the 3 is that teams are able to shoot over us. Tommie can get out and use his size to disrupt the shot and passing lanes.
  5. It was a tough loss, I really would've liked to have had. We were killed defensively by Tucker who was a matchup nightmare. We'd stick a guard on him, he'd post him up. We'd counter with VN and he'd go outside. UWM also hit some huge threes with guys in their face towards the end of the shot clock. That's tough. I am concerned about the defensive rebounding and our ability to defend the 3. Other than that, we actually played pretty well against a good team on the road. Tommie was awesome. Kevin was good. Ian was fine when he was out there. DB was terrible. AD was not so good.
  6. K-Shoe is right in the fact we need to adjust our lineup for the defensive end. JJ and VN have been playing better and I think we need to consider the 4-guard offense a part of our problem. Our best lineup last night was IV, KL, TL, DP, and VN. We rebounded better and were still able to get things done offensively. Overall, though I am upset we lossed, but I give credit to the UWM team as well. They missed nothing in the second half. They hit the stupid amount of free throws given to them and there is not much you can say when 30-ft three pointers go in from a guy who was previously 0-7 from 3.
  7. I understand the pessimism, but I'm optimistic because Brad's teams have historically played better as the season progresses and so I guess I'm more excited not about what this team is now, but what they can be in two months.
  8. > >What was wrong with Husak. For experience sake only, he >needs 2-3 minutes/half, to give IV a blow, and get his hands >dirty, IMHO. > i'm not sure Bryce will ever be an impact player. No way does he play much next year with Ian still around and hopefully (one can dream)we'll have enough viable big men that Bryce might continue to sit.
  9. given Brad's reaction to last year, I would think that if we did struggle we would see less of Drejaj like we saw less of Reggie. However, I'm not sure at this point that we will struggle (at least not like last year) so Drejaj will play. It's hard to argue right now against DRejaj, as much as I want to. Of course it's still possible Drejaj's minutes could decline as the year progresses and our young-ins continue to improve.
  10. ...but Bernie gave us a very nice article. http://www.stltoday.com/stltoday/sports/co...E3?OpenDocument
  11. ...so true. I feel like when I was there, so little was done to try and attract student interest. Or they just missed the point. So now, getting SGA more involved and a group incentive program is a good way to attract students.
  12. I tried for years to get Sigma Chi's to the games. Many of them just don't care...
  13. I got this e-mail from the SLU SGA. These types of promotions are what we need to almost force student interest... 14. Seamus McDaniels in Dogtown has charter and will put it on TV for you if you ask. Nice large TV over the bar.
  15. I thought we were all going to be nice again...it's the holiday season after all.
  16. I would take absolutely nothing from this game in trying to measure where we are.
  17. There is finally a new post article...interesting quote from Brad towards the bottom about leaning towards a four-guard offense. http://www.stltoday.com/stltoday/sports/st...02?OpenDocument
  18. We're predicted every year to finish lower than we actually do. Last year might be the only year in the past five where we did worse than expected. Three years ago we finished 4th in the conference and were expected to be at the bottom. I just don't take too much credence into these preseason predictions.
  19. >I don't really like when somebody brags about himself, I'm sure the reporter asked who do you liken your game to the most, and Tommie probably just said one of his favorite players. I really doubt he's trying to boost himself up. he doesn't seem cocky, just quietly confident.
  20. >i love his skills, but i still question if he ever learned >to actually play basketball at vashon. I'm sure V-Time love this quote
  21. >"For example, Reggie was often the guy taking the last shot >two years ago at the end of the game, but Josh Fisher was >still the team leader" > >Not that I'm disagreeing but in what way was Josh Fisher the >leader if he wasn't a rah-rah guy and he wasn't the guy >taking most of the shots at the end of the game? Fisher was a lead by example player. His stand-up D and presence on the court with the ball were attributes that significantly helped the rest of the team. I tend to think rah-rah leaders are kind of annoying in all honesty. I was just making the comment that the "best" player is not always the team leader (even though, Fisher might have been the best all-around that year). I think what Fisher did best was take what Brad wanted and put it out on the floor.
  22. there's a difference between being the team leader and being the guy with the ball in your hands at the end of the game. For example, Reggie was often the guy taking the last shot two years ago at the end of the game, but Josh Fisher was still the team leader. I agree TL or KL will probably have to be the go to guys at the end of the game. I wish I could say IV.
  23. I don't see any reason why Dwayne Polk can't be a team leader...smart, charismatic kid who will have the ball in his hands a lot.
