First of all TL had test qualifying problems -not uncommon for some recruits. Second, no one knows that he has had grade problems before in college or not - this is his first semester. Your defensiveness is speaks volumes.

There is a big difference in asking if a recruit would qualify and saying " I heard that a specific player on the team is ineligible" Once again, I am sorry you are having such a problem understanding the difference but that is your problem not mine - just keep that crap off the board unless you have crediable info.

Rammer like all hosts try to fill the time to make sure they have enough calls to cover the entire show time. KL might start but I would be surprised if it is for Polk. Was the comment about Obi and long term rehabbing meant that he was concerned about the knee healing or what?

Contary to what Phan, Kappy and Marshall said this board does not normally have postings that are based on unsubstantiated rumors about particular players. We often make some brutal observations about a player or recruit's bb ability. I guess the thing that bothered me the most and I was consistent with all my response to the orginal thread - and by the way thanks for removing it - was that from an off hand comment made by the coach - which many have heard other coaches make - a slanderous rumor is started about an individual player when no name was brought up by the coach. The orginal post specifically named their uncle as the source - who ever that person was - and referenced the vague comment uttered by the coach to a general question as some kind of idiotic proof. The other thing that bothered me was that there are other freshmen players on the team but only one name was listed. Marshall, before you posted some stupid rumor your uncle heard you should have found out from your uncle where he heard it. I was embrassed by the post and for the young man whose name was mentioned. For Phan, Kappy, and Marshall - Roy's and 3 Star's explanations as to why it was inappropriate and how the general topic could have been posted properly are right on target. I am sorry you don't understand the difference but hopefully one day you won't find yourself the subject of such ugly rumors. Your poor post caused a relative to call a father who called a coach. Little wonder Brad seems to hold the board in low regard. So much time and energy wasted. It was bad enough that the post was made but then when a few offered that it was simply an unsubstantiated rumor and should not be continued, Marshall continued to argue that unsubstantiated rumors are OK to put on the board. People come to read this board to find things out that have some truth to it not stupid rumors. Hopefully a lesson has been learned.

Really - that is great! I would not have thought Gonzaga would have that much appeal.

Bfinance - I think the point is that how can the Blue Crew be announced or heralded as the 6th man when they are making negative comments/actions about one of the team's players. I understand your point about the board comments but there is a big difference - 1. the board is not on public display in front of thousands of people and being televised on TV. I know that anybody can get on the internet and read what is on the board but that still is not the same as a public display by a group. 2. You can not expect the AD dept to provide transportation, PR, and credibility to you when you are biting the hand that feeds you - in other words, the AD dept. accepted your group as a support not a hinderance and just as any of the members of the AD dept would not be expected to conduct themselves in a negative manner towards the team so you should not also given your special status. Now as an individual, you can say and do what you want but as a Blue Crew member you have a different standard. This is no different in the work world when as a member of a company or organization, you are expected to support the agenda and if you can not do so you are expected to move on or they will move you on. Now I am not suggesting that your members leave the group just that you should not be sarcastic about a player during the game - if you don't like the player then simply do nothing when they come into the game.

Actually not as far as going to Seattle. Besides, according to the AD dept. the travel is actually the same when we were in the CUSA.

The problem with just giving a schollie away so it is not unused is that instead of creating a deficient for one year you have one for 4 if the kid is a stiff. Better to blow one year then 4.

You are correct - I was not sure who he was hollering at but I could hear Brad screaming all the way across the arena up high before the team ever got back to the bench.

Pdiddy - I am assuming that next year, KL takes over for AD full time so that solves one of the problems but I still am not sure where we get this other athletic pf that can shoot and rebound. We all what that guy but for some reason he simply does not ever exist in a Billiken uniform. Is Obie the guy? but I really am having trouble seeing him shaking all that rust off so quickly to be a real force next year. I know people keep talking about getting a JUCO or prep player but realistically, we haven't gotten a JUCO player recently that could do that so what makes us think Brad will pull one out of his hat this year plus how many top prep stars are still uncommitted for next year that are impact types?

The problem with keeping them on the schedule every year is that they are too far away to warrant a single game when you have to go up there - you will really be scheduling to games and I am not sure I like the idea of playing to games that far away for us at this time in our development. Look what happened this year with so many away games bunched together. Until we get our own arena we have to be careful not to put a schedule together that does what it did this year. With our own arena, we could assure a more balanced travel/home schedule.

AJ - I am not sure what you are trying to accomplish - your trailer talks about SMS reigns supremen because they pay your salary but you keep posting on this board. What is your connection with SLU or are just someone who has prostituted themselves for pay and feels like you have to justify your loose scruples by coming on the board and picking fights?

HZ - I noted the same thing about the scoring in the second half for both teams - clearly while our defense was very good in the first half it really slacked up in the second. The question I would raise is that: When this team (us) plays intense defense does it take away from our ability to score? Seems like if yesterday is any indication our defense was less intense but our scoring was much more robust in the second half. Thanks for the H/A stat - interesting data.

We do not play IL - Chicago. We play Chicago State. But I get your point.

BillBooster - when I said that DP was covering #5 at some point in the second half, AD was still in the game. Roy, is right, during the second half, #5 was draining everything but in the first half, he was getting lots of open looks and hitting them.

Nick - yes it was picked up on - so the questions still begs as to why is it happening? What did he do or not do? or do or not do to someone?

Bcrew - my question to you would be if you start AD and KL, then who sits - TL or DP - DP is not going to sit and neither will TL. Not going to happen.

I agree - it is amazing how things can change when you hit a couple of threes - we just had nobody hitting anything to speak of in the first half. Once KL hit a couple of those threes then everything started looseningu up - same thing happened at UNC when AD was shooting lights out that night. Somehow someway, we have to start the game hitting a few shots or IV will spend the year with 3 guys hanging all over him - he is good but not that good - he has to begin a little breathing room.

Also, in that first half, nothing was clicking! If he had done nothing everybody would be screaming for him to get the bums out and put in Peyton Jacks.

DP had 3 assists and 5 turnovers to be exact along with 8 points and being perfect from the foul line. This was not his best stat night with his TO/A but overall he is doing very well in that area for the season. He also played good defense today.

The truth is the first half was gawd awful - nobody was hitting and we were lucking that LM got a basket or two and TL got a few lay ups. KL did not hit until the second half. Brad tried everybody but himself that first half just to try to get something going. I am not sure what Brad said to them at half time but they had an explusion for us - what 57 points?

If AD did such a great defensive job on #5 in the second half then why was Polk guarding him at the end? I agree that AD tried to stay with him better in the second half but the kid was just lights out from the field.

MS - Brad sat TL down against Ole Miss, he also sat KL down for defensive problems. You also have forgot to mention that some on this board think that DP is playing too much so don't just mention KL and TL as the favorite sons. Not my opinion. VN has lots of issues with his play and a long track record of being very inconsistent - he is a senior and if he is still inconsistent then he is not going to get better now.
