  1. Mizzou thanks him and plus the Iowa & Wisconsin flag wavers. ESPN publicist, Mike Hume, says the crowd was estimated at 18,000 which is a new College Game Day attendance record. Since it beats the old record of 15,800 of Nebraska, that could be beaten next week if the NU-MU game at Lincoln is selected.
  2. must be the slu marketing department. shame they blew the whole year's budget in one outing.
  3. For you college football fans, ESPN COLLEGE GAMEDAY will be at Mizzou in Columbia on Friday and Saturday this weekend. Be sure to watch. Also, for Hoopsinsider, who does Mizzou play in that exhibition game on November 5th? I'm posting this to help SLU fans keep their minds off things. I appreciate your pain.
  4. If the Big East falls apart because of football, the Papal Conference becomes much more possible.
  5. this is not news. That is the ultimate purpose and , after that, ridding the NCAA from control of the BCS conferences.
  6. UConn is not an AAU member research institution which presumably disqualifies them from the Big 10 search. Pitt and Temple add no more subscriptions(TV sets). Therefore, Syracuse and Rutgers the most likely to get offers. Most MU fans think MU is a near lock if the Big 10 goes to 16 teams. If Notre Dame says yes, they could quit at 12 and that would send Mizzou elsewhere. The 2.2 million Missouri TV sets( at $.70/month per set in the Big 10) makes MU a valuable commodity in conference TV revenues. Evidently, the PAC 10 would be out of the question since they've pissed off Texas but there are indications that the SEC has been in touch with MU and the leftovers, if the PAC 10 deal materializes, could form an expanded Mountain West Conference. As an indication of Texas arrogance, they didn't let the ink dry on the original PAC 10 announcement until they began substituting Baylor for Colorado. This the state of Texas not UT.
  7. Well, Nate may confirm this but Scout and Rivals show nothing from the "big schools". Biancardi. aka the tOSU bag man, is indebted to Majerus so I wouldn't give his comments or embellishments any credence. As far as a dumba*s, you've been made fun of and ridiculed before for your foul mouth which is about as revolting and childish as one can be. now that's being a dumba$s.
  8. actually no. not a single thing in their says he had an OFFER. The only offers listed are SLU, Colorado and St. Marys - no offense not exactly "big". As the detective, you really need to get up to speed on how recruiting works.
  9. exactly which "big" schools were Loe and Ellis stolen from? not saying they aren't good players but Rivals and Scout don't show "big" offers.
  10. Maybe a moot point at this time per Perkins comments in the KC Star article today. Of course, he can be excused if he hasn't given it much thought what with the FBI, IRS and NCAA occupying most of his waking thoughts concerning ku's Williams Fund ticket scandal. http://www.kansascity.com/2010/05/11/19402...kc-without.html
  11. It's as intense as 6 different posters can drive it. Actually, it's hardly a blip. Most discourse is about the big 10 or reaction to the ku or Nebraska trolls.
  12. the world would be a much better place if everyone's were as high as BRoy's. Certainly the Catholic Church professes its morals to be that high. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.
  13. To date, the A10 talk is nothing. Why expand it by letting two mental giants go at it. It will go away unless something signifcant materializes and then it will be all over the internet anyway.
  14. if you're a ku hawk, you have a lot of room to talk with the crap deputy dawg and self have pulled. they have both done the exact same things. Self probably would have called but was probably busy reviewing any involvement by him in the FBI/IRS ticket scandal probe. BTW, Jones did the calling to Calipari. Calipari is a Sh*tbum of the worst kind just like self. I apologize for bringing this up on a SLU board but a self-righteous beaker calling out another cheat is just too much. I won't bring it up again or respond to the beaker to help kill my involvement in this thread.
  15. You might want to check Kansas' ranking when you played them. The SLU article at the time of the games said they were ranked 19th at the time not 2nd.
  16. And then why would SLU want to hire a guy who got fired from a lowly MVC job? BTW, you guys do realize that standard operating procedure, when you've been eliminated from consideration for a job, is to withdraw your name like PM did. Just some things to consider.
  17. unlike public universities, slu doesn't reveal or is able to hide their shennanigans while in school. But with so many bad actors after leaving i find it hard to believe these kids were exemplary while at slu.
  18. mizzou did not have a scholarship limit issue. both of these players had announced they were leaving for playing time. As a matter of fact, Paul had wanted to leave mid-semester until he was shown how misguided that would be. As soon as they said they were leaving, Anderson started looking. Getting Pressey was relatively easy but they had a lot of ground to make up for Ratliff. One thing that worked in their favor was Purnell leaving and Mizzou routing Clemson in the tournament. BTW, I'm an early-riser. SLU is way down the list of sites I visit but I do admittedly visit regularly because, for whatever reason(and i'm certain I know the reason) there are a lot of Mizzou mentions here. It took no time at all for some deepthinker to refer to MU as "trailer park u". SLU lives in a glass house if you want to get into name-calling.
  19. It was the "handwriting on the wall" for both players. They each had one of the top recruits in the country coming in at their positions and their PT was already limited. You neglected to mention Miguel's favorable comments toward Mizzou. Stone was not quoted in this article but was similarly complimentary. I understand both showed up for play and cheered on the new recruits and had meals with them and the team. Ricardo Ratliff, a Juco AA and #1 Juco player in the country, commented on their continued support of the team even though they were leaving. Matt Pressey, also a Juco AA and the MVP of the recent national tournament, also committed. Mizzou could well have one more scholarship available but will likely hold it for next year. Mike Anderson has it rolling. Thanks for your continued interest in Missouri basketball.
  20. Just curious. How do you get to a 16 player roster. Are you anticipating more walkons?
  21. Congratulations for pointing out that we're talking about TWO Mizzou posters. I make three. You guys act like Mizzou has descended en masse on the SLU board and wronged your university. One poster " cheeseycow" is somewhat respected or at least tolerated.
  22. Mizzou has no good reason to play $Lu. We already play Illinois in St. Louis in one of the big events of the year in St. Louis. Even though MU has been getting an annual as*kicking the game has continued. That should make you at least wonder if MU is afraid to play. Now MU is supposedly working on a home-and home with Arkansas and always play Kansas and Oklahoma. In case you haven't noticed, the Big 12 is the #1 rated RPI conference in the country. $Lu's problem is that your conference is not strong enough (yet?) that you can be selective in OOC games. You need a tougher OOC than MU does. Even though you're the 6th rated RPI conference, you're miniscule points ahead of the 7th place and a lot closer to 8th( your usual ranking) than 5th. You need a rival and we already have Kansas, Nebraska and Illinois. You guys complain about a handful of MU posters(4 or5) stirring up crap or, in my case, defending my school on your board. You're in for a rude awakening if you ever do get a rivalry going. 8
