  1. Other than saying the guys played hard....he just sauid he spent the night watching the game film and then getting ready for dayton.
  2. he sounded humbled, but still determined.....
  3. Actually we match up better to Dayton size-wise and system-wize
  4. What was worse? Coming up short at St. Bona or losing historically at GW? I bet Dayton is NERVOUS
  5. In the eyes of the rpi, the HBU game was an exhibition. The teams that are killing us are: Detroit-239 Furman-316 Long Beach-310 Loyola-298 None of them are in power conferences, so none of them will improve very soon. we thought we would get something better based on 2007 rpis: Long Beach-79 NCAA tourney Detroit-191 Furman-195 Loyola-101 Thank goodness the A-10 is on the upswing and we only play LaSalle and St Bona once

  7. Cintas seats 10,000 at Xavier, and they are one the most financially success private schools that does not have football....those other examples you gave are national universities with large residential populations. Gonzaga seats less than that.
  8. URI, Dayton & Xavier in Top 25.... Now if St. Bona and LaSalle go to the MAAC...
  9. The CINTAS center is a tough venue for the road team....they fill the place and the fans no how to make noise. The only tougher place in the league is Dayton, that place is nuts. I hope the Chaifetz has a similar atmosphere!
  10. I agree, Kramer would be a bad fit for our system....but in the right system he could be successful. This guy is Kramer-sized with a similar game: http://butlersports.cstv.com/sports/m-bask...raves_aj00.html
  11. I bet both are shooting higher than that....if Brad spends four years as an assistant in a a highly successful program he will build up some credibility and then his son will be ready to be an assistant on his staff. I bet Kramer doesn't have to be the star of the team, he just wants to win even as a role player/shooter and eventually coach with his dad (I think he said that in a TV interview once).
  12. Not a good comparison, DP and Kramer are about as far from each other as I can even imagine. If you want to compare Kramer to someone, compare him to Blake Ahearn, a great shooter that might be a step slow on D. On the right team, Kramer could be very productive, as Blake was. You can ask around the coaching fraternity is St. Louis, there are some guys who respect Majerus, but also like Brad and thought he got the shaft. Brad won't be trying to outrecruit Majerus, he will be recruiting against Moser, Biancardi and Thorpe. Brad can probably get in as many gyms in St. Louis that those guys can. His boss will be the one competing against Majerus. BTW...give Majerus a few years...we will not be seeing many St. Louis kids on the roster, the talent pool isn't as good as everyone thinks. He recruits nationally and internationally. There is an old adage in coaching if you recruit local kids, they better be good enough to play or they better know they aren't going to play. A group of disgruntled local kids can kill you when you go to get that blue chipper from the area.
  13. Rivals has it...http://rivalshoops.rivals.com/viewprospect.asp?pr_key=75655&sport=2 Brad might be a good addition to Tulsa's staff, it looks like his background is compatible with the Wojcik's
  14. When you talk tough about the players, you always have that to fall back on if you aren't successful. Let's hope SLU acheives the success you are all so certain of...then the end will justify the means. BTW, Charlie Weis was treated like the next Knute Rockne this time last year.....
  15. our 3 opponents with 300+ RPI's really makes the RPI a moot point for SLU.....our only way in is to win the league, maybe finish 2nd. They will be an anchor on our RPI like 2 years ago....
  16. "But those kids don't want to hear about next year; this is their senior season. I owe it to them to win this year. They deserve that." Best Majerus quote I have heard so far....he is capable of coaching this team to a good season, it just will take some adjustments to the personnel.
  17. SIU was a big win, it was like the midterm that a struggling student needed to save his GPA. So that makes IUPUI the final that seals our semester grade. The guys will be rested and healthy (we hope) and they will have a significant chunk of practice time before next Saturday. According to the RPI sites, the combined record of our opponents in games we have won is 22-46 (Houston Baptist doesn't count in the RPI) IUPUI is alot like us, they are 6-2, they have won 6 in a row against some weak teams, the exception being a road game at U Mass. One of their two losses is by 8 points in their first game of the year at Marquette. I think we will get a good idea of what to expect for the A-10 season based on what we see next Saturday. Merry Christmas Bills.....get some good family time and come back ready to finish the basketball semester strong!
  18. A road game in Gainesville would be tough for most women's teams in our conference....GW, Temple & Xavier may do ok....SEC women's basketball is tough. I wonder what the Gators were thinking, their coach was at Charlotte previously, she had to know how to slow down our only real weapon.
  19. I think alot of St Louis Mizzou or Illinois fans probably spent some cash on the Big 12 championship or the bowl games....other years football is long over and those same fans have cash in their pocket
  20. Iowa is 1-2 vs. UNI, Iowa State and Drake.... They shot no free throws vs Drake.....Jeff Peterson and Jake Kelly are playing alot.... http://scores.espn.go.com/ncb/recap?gameId=273482294
  21. At least one national media member is talking about us.....Its worse when they are ignoring you RM can handle that kind of criticism
  22. Success in game planning is about adjustments....the first three games we were unscoutable (new system, new personnel)....then teams had film on us while we were trying to get used to the system. Last night was a big step in the season long chess match that is college basketball. RM adjusted to his personnel's strengths and the way other teams were playing us. We knew he, his staff and the team was capable of this, we were frustrated that we weren't seeing it.
  23. I totally agree with you Rich....my only issue all along with Majerus is that he constantly uses excuses, none of which has to do with him. I do think we have enough talent to be competitive in the A-10. But they have been playing apprehensively and tired...I am so happy the post-game remarks were about how the players stepped up and not about the coaches had this great game plan!
  24. Tommie & Kevin...12-14 from the line.....
  25. Memphis?!? Even with the Chaifetz we aren't close to the resources and history they have.....they have been swimming in the big pond for quite a while and are shooting for the final four this year! Maybe Rotella can stop by STL on the way back home from Memphis...he could do a group therapy session tonight. Comparing ourselves to Gonzaga or Xavier might be more reasonable...
