  1. You'll be hearing from Iggy Pop's lawyers any day now, Strode.
  2. Sounds like Blake Ahearn, who unfortunately had a big night against us.
  3. Reggie and Sloan are scheduled to appear on Fox 2's sports show tonight, and there will be a feature on Brad on Channel 4's Sports Final.
  4. I did like the Earth, Wind and Fire song though. It's been a while since they've played it.
  5. Ha! It's 10:21 CST on Saturday, January 24, by the way
  6. I can't speak for Mr. Bonwich, but I think when he was referring to the fact that while the improvements to the SLU campus have been amazing, the campus really is not integrated into the Grand Center district; in many ways it is an island unto itself. Grand Center has never capitalized on the thousands of SLU students and employees who are right at its doorstep. The new Ritter, the museums and performing arts centers are all wonderful, but for the district to be a true success, it needs more residents and ammenities to serve them (as well as the patrons of the arts).
  7. I think it's unfair to say that no one in this city has any vision. I live in the city of St. Louis and see the results of visionaries on a daily basis, whether it be all of the work that Joe Edwards has done/is doing on Delmar, the lofts under construction downtown, or even my own neighborhood which was brought back to life by Leon Strauss in the early 80's. The Forest Park Parkway corridor, just west of SLU, is quickly becoming the biotech hub of St. Louis (and possibly even the midwest) thanks to visionaries in both the private and public sectors. All over the city, neighborhoods are making comebacks and property values are at all-time highs. There's definitely good reason to be excited about the future of St. Louis.
  8. Kind of makes you wonder why they held off on recruiting Shaw until seemingly the last minute. Shaw would have completed an unbelievable recruiting class.
  9. Teller's is a great place in a great neighborhood. I was just there a few weeks ago myself. Arthur's is another great restaurant in the same neighborhood for anyone who plans on traveling to Cincy in the days ahead. My sister also frequents a bar/restaurant in Mt. Adams called Rookwood Pottery, but I don't know if that's because it's good or because she's friends with the owners.
  10. Fun fact: the guy who sings in those commericals was the lead singer of Survivor (of "Eye of the Tiger fame).
  11. Did you see how Texas was defending Pulley? They were daring him to shoot the whole game. I guess they had some game tape from his SLU days.
  12. It wouldn't surprise me if beer is sold at the new arena, especially considering the amount of support that the university receives from Anheuser-Busch. The Cintas Center sells A-B products, and hopefully our new building will as well.
  13. Fish was outstanding today. I just wish Sloan would have made that dunk in the second half; Fisher's pass was awesome.
  14. Why not set up booths IN the dorms on and around game days to distribute tickets so a student could pick up a ticket on his/her way to class, dinner, etc.
  15. I know when I was a student, I felt that I always had to sell the program to my fellow students. I still sell it to my friends now. People complain that the atmosphere at the Savvis Center is a far cry from that of Cameron, but by just showing up, making noise and occasionally acting a little crazy, THEY have the power to make the Savvis a lot of fun. The Blue Crew is doing an awesome job, and I hope that it gets the support it needs from the administration to help build momentum.
  16. While last night's victory was a fairly ugly one, it struck me that in the year and a half that Soderberg has been at SLU, our teams have been winning the majority of close games that we almost always lost under Romar, which is often the difference between playing in the post season or planning for next year. I think it's due to a combination of preparation and mental toughness. It's definitely good to have an off night and still win.
  17. Exactly. It's available, they just choose not to get it.
  18. Might be a good initiative for the Blue Crew to start up. Maybe collaborate with representatives from our ticket office to see if they could procure a block of tickets for SLU students in the other team's arena. Perhaps the students could all hit the road at the same time, decorate their cars and form a "Billiken Caravan." It was great to see our fans on tv at the TCU game. Definitely looked like we had a good showing!
  19. I'm sure there would have been more SLU fans in Milwaukee had the Rams not been playing on Saturday afternoon. I certainly would have been there. Is anyone else heading to Chicago in February for the DePaul game? Unfortunately, it's the same weekend as Mardi Gras.
  20. Is this the same woman who forced the re-naming of the Baby Blues? I couldn't believe that letter. Maybe she'd like it if we all just cheered for both teams. Even better, we could not keep score, that way EVERYBODY is a winner.
  21. That might be a good idea. I've personally never been there, but like you said, I've heard that it is a very "Billiken-friendly" environment. Here's some info on the bar from StlToday.com: http://makeashorterlink.com/?W1D962807
  22. Didn't J.J. Haliburton only last a year as well, around the same time?
  23. If any coach receives a technical in said shootout, would we refer to it as a Judgement Under God?
