  1. With regard to having a 5-man team at the end of games who can all shoot 80%+ from the FT line. you can add one more player to that possible grouping. Lorentsson shot 85% last year according to the Official SLU website (not to mention 45% from the arc.
  2. Thanks for the reply and link. Now you need to sit down and rest for many, many hours to recover from your extensive time researching in such a dedicated manner.
  3. Who is the 1st place team in FTM and are we 1st in FT%? Where are you finding this info? BTW, for the past 2-3 years we could have asked the same questions, except substitute Last where ever you see 1st.
  4. Maybe my dream figure is too high, but my point is we need him A LOT better than recently, especially the negative 1;3 A/TO ratio he had at Boise St. I think with the shooters we have and the alley opp set ups, he is capable of better than 3/1 and I think he showed that at the beginning of the year when he was being thought of as one of the top 3-5 PG's in the country-that's the Yuri we need back.
  5. CB, drinking a lot of that Blue CoolAid, eh? One of the tough 6 stretch down and 5 to go. 4 at home and Drake at Vegas. Of the remaining 5, I would be happy with 3-2 (L to either UAB or Belmont, and Auburn) and excited about 4-1 ( L to Aub.) I really can't envision 5-0 so I will just call it a dream. In that DREAM, YC needs to get back to a 5-1 A to TO ratio, GJ needs to hit45%+ from 3, JN needs to finds his Off and hit 12-14 pts per, ML/FO need to continue as they are with a few less fouls per game, TJ needs to take a few more shots per game. FT Jr needs to continue his play w/o any physical issues and the DJ/Williams combo need to contribute 10-12 per game. Finally the team nee, ds to continue to hit Wiz's slash, especially the 3 pt and FT%'s
  6. ...as I would expect---just pulling your chain in good fun. BTW, your Caps Lock key was depressed for your first four letters.
  7. Roy, I am so proud of you, putting the second "t" at the end of Jordan's last name.
  8. A FR looking a little uncomfortable on Off. is to be expected. Look at how long it took TJ to learn the Off his first year. He wasn't even getting into games at this point, 2 years ago. Speaking of TJ, I would never have guessed that he would be one of our go-to 3 pt shooters-he has come a long way.
  9. Wiz, I am amazed at how often you are "right on" in your predictions. Well done!
  10. I didn't get to see the game, but looking at Nesbitt's stat line gives me hope on his becoming a bigger contributor. He is a good shooter from both inside and outside of the arc. I think he will do much better than 1/8 and 1/4 as the season goes on. But you have to give him credit for playing 31 minutes with zero TO's, 1 PF and a team leading 8 rebounds. Pretty good for a FR.
  11. Did I see the stats right? Only 1 assist for Yuri? We need a lot more from him in that area. On an unrelated note, Seeing the team board their flights for Cancun and Boise makes it clear that the old days of waiting on commercial flights is no more. The guys are traveling first class on nice charters. Congrats to the Ath. Dept. on a good decision and maybe to Coach TF on pressing the issue.
  12. Two words make it a great location: Lobster Rolls. Eat 'em for lunch and dinner. Fly into either Providence or Hartford and you'll be close. If snow isn't an issue then Thanksgiving in NE is fantastic.
  13. I disagree with all the posters who say take the $$$ and run . At this point he will be considered damaged goods by any pro team which would limit his ability to make any serious money. He obviously likes being in the STL Metro area (Belleville and SLU) and has plans on working with the SLU staff, Doctors and trainers, on getting to the point of playing again. He certainly will not be drafted by an NBA team coming off a year not playing due to an ACL. Probably his best chance to make any reasonable money is overseas and I have a feeling that he would prefer to Not do that as he returns to the court. In any case, I don't think he would get rich overseas, but on a Billiken team next year, which could likely be a Conference favorite and NCAA tournament team, and as a local, well-known athlete he can probably secure some local NIL sponsors. All of this while probably securing a Masters degree. I think he spent many hours working with SLU staff on developing his upper body to show pro teams that he can compete physically with other pro's. Unfortunately, with his injury, he has not been able to show that part of his game. For all the "go-pro group because he shouldn't risk a career-ending injury", well that just tells me that further damage to his knee would likely occur regardless of he is at SLU or in Europe. If it happens at SLU, at least he would have a Masters degree to use in the business community, if it happens in Europe, no Masters degree and no more basketball. He can talk to D Roby on what playing in Europe is like.
  14. I would add Nesbitt to your "shooter" list and I'm fine with Yuri shooting 1 or 2 per game to keep defenses honest and give Marten some room inside. At this point it appears that TF is not going to use Williams unless something changes. Maybe Jones can be included in the "shooter" group.
  15. OG, I have to disagree with you about @ Boise St being the toughest. I think Auburn will be harder. This 6 game stretch is one that can make us a favorite to get in the NCAA (by sweeping the 6) or making our only chance to get in, going at least 16-2 in the league or winning the A 10 tournament (3-3 or worse in the next 6). By degree of difficulty, i would line them up as follows---Auburn, Belmont, @ Boise St, UAB, Drake (N), Boston College.
  16. In looking at this, next 6 games issue, I noticed a few problems with the home page of Billikens.com. Not really complaining because I know Steve puts in many hours taking care of this Board, but if he or one of the mods who assist him could fix what follows that would be great. 1. The Belmont game is not listed on the schedule. 2. None of the A 10 games are listed correctly The only way I can get the correct schedule info is by going to another location-the official SLU Athletics website. Again this is not an earth shattering problem, just something that would improve the Board.
  17. Pls. OG. Learn when someone is having fun with a post and not serious AND stop with the Vegas cr@p in every game post!
  18. We are so lucky that whoever foots the bill for Earl and Rammer does so consistently, not like the Bally people who won't even pay for their Golden Goose product (Cardinals baseball) announcers to travel with the team. Also, we don't often enough shout out to Earl and Rammer, who have to be the best CBB radio announcers out there.
  19. Skip or Courtside, any guess on the attendance?
  20. Then let's kick some Eastern butt at Hermann in Rd 2
  21. All of this St. B stuff is interesting. What would make it even better is if one of the posts would mention who they were playing.
  22. slu72, maybe a 3 horse league-don't forget about Richmond. I hope we can stay with Pennyville on their court, but to do so we will need Jimerson to shoot a lot better from the arc than he did last game, same with JN. I'm very disappointed with the offense coming from Fred and somewhat disappointed with the O from TJH. We need both of them to be at least a threat from 10-18 feet. Big positives so far from Yuri, Linssen, FO (after first game), Nesbitt and GJ (except EI game 3 pt shooting). Too early to judge our 2 Transfer Portal guards and not enough courttime for Strickland and AL for any thought other than can MS do anything but dunk?
