Alameda Bob kind of stole my thunder as I was going to say the the Billiken could kick the nerdy Stanford tree around the gym.

I could care less what CUSA will look like after conferencegate. My only desire is to see a strong A-10 conference once our Billikens begain that conference affiliation. CUSA has not been the best of fits for us for quite some time, and it will be a mess very soon.

I am not trying to throw any rain on this subject, but I do hope to see Larry carry this kind of production into the regular season.

Broy, You need to slow down my friend. You just hit the 4,000 post jackpot and I am a mere 3,000 behind you having just hit the 1,000 milestone. You could take another vacation down here in FL and I'd still be way behind you. All kidding aside...keep the faith, this program is heading in the right direction and we have no one to apologize about the outlook for our team.

Torch, I won't try and argue the merits of USF football because I know what big time college football is, and it is not USF...it's also not Louisville or Cincy. Having said that there are a number of the USF fans that believe the program will be big time in the very near term. I can tell you for sure that they do have one of the finest young HC's in college football in Jim Leavitt. He was strongly in the running for the Bama job before the ill fated Mike Price hire. There are some worried people at USF now as he has not signed his contract extension and the FL Gators have a HC in Ron Zook that many of their backers feel was a big mistake. If the Gator job opens then look for Jim Leavitt's name to be high on the list.

Add Kevin Lisch to that mix and you definitely have a back court that most teams in the country would love to have.

Good ridance to CUSA...our Bills have been swimming in the shark tank for awhile. If the A-10 does become our new conference home, we can get out of the shark tank and be alligned with a number of schools with a similar philosophy to SLU's.

If you are asking me...you'll NEVER find me on any MVC website...I cn't help it if some of the Bills fans troll on MVC boards...my time is too valuable for that nonsense. I have ZERO interest in the league. My team is the SLU Billikens.

David, Thanks a lot and great report. I assume questions are asked. If so, did anyone ask about where Coach might envision the Bills when dust settles in conferencegate??? A-10 would be my thoughts/hope right now. Sorry MVC! By the way, I can feel Coach's excitement for this upcoming year loud and clear all the way here in Palm Harbor, FL. If he is as excited as I think he is, then I expect a highlight filled Billiken season.

Thicks, Nice rebut to our bird brain friend who has had his cranium scrambled what with hitting it on the wall so often the last day or two. Most Billiken fans don't care about the Lil' Ol MVC...those days are ancient history for us. School is still out on the 2003-04 Billiken team, but with Coach Soderberg at the helm, I expect an exciting team. How many wins that translates too...heck, I will leave that up to the experts. However, I won't be surprised if this Billiken team also puts it in gear, the 2nd half of the year just like the 2002-03 team.

Billiken Law just seems to be trying to defend MU's money grab to the Big (L)East. However, trying to lump the National ND team in that house of cards football league and call them an Eastern team is a JOKE! Good to see some others on this website think it is fantasy land too!

slu72, You are right on about ND not joining up with those podunk schools. It makes zero sense. I also beleive that SLU will land on their feet in a good league, and not the MVC.

Thicks, I kind of wonder if you aren't on to something with your take regarding basketball. TV is a HUGE reason for the popularity of the NCAA Big Dance. Much of the allure has to do with selection Sunday when we get to see who goes and who gets screwed in the selection process to get to the 65 teams. I think if they go to another divsion then the goose that laid the golden egg, and we are talking megabucks here may be no more. Somehow, I'm not sure that I see that happening either.

Again, the only conference that makes any sense at all for ND to join is the Big 10, as they are a BCS league. Are you going to try and tell me what is left of the Big (L)East from a football perspective is truly worthy of BCS recognition??? If so, you and I will just agree to disagree on that issue.

Would ND want anything to do with the joke of a football league that the Big (L)East has become? If they are going to any league, the only thing that truly makes any sense at all is the Big 10. If that doesn't happen then I see the Golden Domers remaining an independent in football.

Just what I enjoy seeing...another cat fight, err, in this case more like a bird fight. No pun intended but his arguments are for the birds!!! SLU belongs and has proved that they belong in a stronger conference than the MVC. I will lose a lot of respect if we don't land in the A-10, or a conference at least the equal of it. I am pleased beyond belief that the folks in the MVC are happy with their conference. It just isn't the proper fit for our Billikens.

Today, John Feinstein was sitting in for Jim Rome on his show. In discussing the Big East fiasco, he got around to CUSA imploding. He mentioned that in addition to the 4 schools that will be leaving for the Big East, the A-10 is taking two other schools from CUSA, Charlotte...he thought about it for awhile (as I was screaming at my car radio SLU)...anyway Feinstein never could come up with the 2nd school.

I can't make it either as my corporate jet...oh, forget it, I will be staying put here in sunny FL.

You mean to tell me that those folks from N. Iowa and Wichita aren't already clamoring for hotel rooms in downtown St. Louis for next year's big MVC tourney???

With what they have left...W. VA, Pitt, Syracuse, Temple, and Rutgers, it's a given that the networks won't be clamoring for the games even after you add those two CUSA football powerhouses into the mix this house of cards is crumbling fast.
