  1. The PAC 10 is a joke this year, as far as I am concerned I would not be upset if the dudes in the room passed AZ over too and only picked Stanford from that conference. With their p!ss poor RPI then if UW does get in, the selection dudes might as well quit telling us how important the RPI is in the selection process. For MooFan, if SPUMAC isn't on life support as far as getting a bid then something is wrong because right now they don't deserve a Big Dance bid...we might see you NITing???
  2. Gonzaga 84 St. Marys 71 R. Turiaf 29 points and 14 boards...oh, if we Brad could find a stud like him somewhere, it would be nice.
  3. Slu72, If my TV guide in the newspaper has it right then the Bills game on Weds. will be televised into Tampa.
  4. Oh, and by the way MooFan, he's also a former Antler...I'm not so darn sure he isn't even a founder of that SPUMAC group.
  5. jjray, I've been thinking the same thing if used for HS Tourney and State Tourney too.
  6. I'll be rooting for the Zags as I want to see them get as high a seed as possible...go Zags trounce the Gaels!!!
  7. I will have to check but I have a sinking feeling that since USF is not participating that we may not get the feed here in Tampa.
  8. Won their last outright Big 10 crown. I'm not certain how many they have shared in that amount of time. Gee, I was a mere babe back in those days and did not even know what a basketball was.
  9. SMS is going to the Big Dance if they win tonight's MVC championship game. I do like the idea of playing Creighton...maybe BRoy and the CUJays fan could sit together for that tussle.
  10. UW also plays in a very weak PAC 10 this year. One could make an argument that only one team really deserves a Big Dance invite this year and that may yet happen. On the other hand, Coach Soderberg and the Billikens had a respectable 9-7 conference record in the 5th best conference in the country. I'll take our current HC over the snake oil salesman any day of the week. Mr. AJ is jsut trying to stir it up...nice try AJ, but as usual you have a lot of your fact kind of mixed up.
  11. I agree this guy sounds like the real deal at the 4, so I am wondering what our chances are in signing him???
  12. While I have not seen DP play, several folks that have say he is right where he was as a Soph which is great news for our Bills. I think that few people will question that we have a player manning the PG that is legit for the next 4 years. Sure he will make some Frosh mistakes but overall I am thrilled that Coach Soderberg is ready to turn things over to Polk next year.
  13. David, Thanks for the report on the banquet. It was an event that I did not miss when I lived in St. Louis. The awards that you mentioned are all well dserved.
  14. Then if I am SLU, I would not be interested in playing Duke on the road. We have not gotten to that point of our rebuilding anyway.
  15. AJ, Good to know you have all the great inside information on SLU...now what do you know about our recruitment of Master Lisch????
  16. Once again the last RPI shows AZ with a 37 and UW with a 96. Of course this was before the Stanford upset so they will get a boost with that win. IMHO UW may have to win the PAC 10 Tourney same position as the Bills if they plan on doing any Dancing this year. While AZ probably is in, I, for one, would not be shocked if they have an early exit in the PAC 10 Tourney to see them passed over. They were a huge disappointment this season especially with their PAC 10 conference record. The state of WA is very similar to MO in that the recruiting gems each year can be few and far between. Many of the more successful PAC 10 teams tap into the So. Cal talent base.
  17. AJ forgets that while the Miracle in Memphis was a real nice accomplishment for our SLU Billikens, no one can honestly state that we would have definitely beat Cincy in the initial game if Kenyon Martin does not break his leg...remember Cincy with Martin had their way with us in the previous meetings during the season. I'm not a LoRo fan and think all Billiken fans are much better off with him out on the Left Coast. His team has had a nice run of late but they aren't rated and last RPI I checked had them at 96, not exactly what they need to fit themselves for Big Dance Shoes. I am 110% behind our current HC and I believe in time Brad will have us all Bills fans very proud of the results on the basketball court. IMHO his first two teams easily surpassed my expectations.
  18. They could start the 2nd string and beat lowly USF. I like our 1st round match up but getting Cincy in the 2nd round is a real bummer and me thinks we probably get bounced then.
  19. If MU wins don't we play S. Miss in the 1st round of the CUSA Tourney. If that is the case then I like our chances better VS s. Miss especially seeing as their HC just resigned.
  20. I guess that means I would be in the semi-pup stage as I am only working on 34 years.
  21. I would also pass on my prayers and best wishes to the Bryant family.
  22. As a PG I would take David Burns over Fish too (if we are talking last 25 yrs) any day of the week, and that's not saying that I don't like what Fish has done playing out of position out of necessity IMHO.
  23. I don't know about the year but I attended the LBJ tree planting and heard his speech and I was definitely still in HS (Graduated in '67). I went to the speech with a HS buddy of mine from Augustinian as his Dad was the chairman of the English Dept at SLU...Dr. McAvoy.
  24. By the way, I'm going to keep my fingers crossed the young Master Polk picks up Brad's system in warp time as I shudder at the idea of AD as our PG. If people thought Fish was not really a PG then what will they think and say if AD gets the lion share of those minutes. As far as JJ is concerned, I think this summer is crucial for him that is if he wants to be a productive member instead of someone picking the splinters from the bench from his rear end. I have to believe that Brad has bringing in someone at the 4 who is capable of playing productive minutes next year. If we don't get someone with more athleticism at the position then we will be in big trouble again with the Louisville's, Cincy's, UAB's, and Charlotte's, of CUSA.
  25. I really have enjoyed the workman like careers of both Fish and Sloan but unless SLU wins the CUSA Tourney in Cincy, the only Dancin I see in their futures is at the local clubs in St. Louis...winning the CUSA Tourney will be an extremely tall order for our guys.
