I hate soccer. It really is a total bore, played at the time of year when football (Good old USofA style) is the only good reason for being outside at a sporting event. As to my knowing nothing of the game, I think that a little harsh. I've played it, watched it a bit, and despise the heck out of it (world cup and NCAA) The shorts are pretty short compared to the basketball players and I realize that the NCAA doesn't have the absurdity of "free time" If you love soccer, don't read my posts. You'll never be amused by anything I have to say on the subject. I'll try to avoid ramming anything down your throat( like a Columbian soccer fan after Brazil just kicked their booty) If you are Mrs Donnegan, my apologies, I don't wish your son any ill will. I just wish he'd take the team back to Fenton so we could watch some hoops in peace!

The word tweener comes to mind everytime I hear Matt Shaw's name. Admittedly I haven't seen much of him but I'll accept brad's judgement on this one. I never again want to see a big ten team like Minnesota come in here and man handle us around. If Shaw is undersized and Brad doesn't want him--then neither do I.

Any "sport" where the actual game time is different from what's showing on the scoreboard is truely absurd. I played soccer in grade school and my 4 year old son plays soccer in a YMCA league (which is absolutely hilarious to watch) but the idea of grown men playing soccer is hideous. Olympic curling is more exciting and the rules are easier to understand too.

I support the non-revenue sports enough with my basketball season tickets. Soccer is game game for East Bristol street toughs to fight about. If the rest of the world loves it, great. They can freeze their a$$es off in January playing a boring game wearing short shorts. Just keep that F---ing ridiculous trapazoid key off my basketball court.

I wish the lady bills well but I've no wish to talk about them on this board either. I've got no time for the soccer team either even though it's the only Billikens athletic program with any chance in hell of winning a national championship next year. When I was at stedent at SEMO they were a great Div II basketball program. WHOOPI! No one cared. All that being said the big question is: Is Yukmouth the new more truthful screen name for Triangle and two?

For a very short time I was the Triangle and Too of Tigerboard. I was also a regular poster on the Rivals Tiger boards. I was banned from both for making ther tiger faithful acknowledge our existance. My daily "countdown to the meeting in the dome" posts got me booted from tigerboard, largely because of all the obscenities hurled at me (I kept it squeaky clean.) The tigers can keep their freaking boards. I like having the tiger fans here. After all it does prove we exist ;-) . Mutgr, you'll have to forgive me for delighting in all the bad ink your "program" is getting these days. I've got nothing against you personally. It's just that the other couple hundred thousand tiger fans out there that are a major pain in the hinder.

Not just once but everytime. You can have Deiner and bruan. I'll throw in a couple of tough good kids for ya. Maybe redden and AD. How about we call him Clarke Bar. There's the obvious candy company tie in but also Clarke spells his last name the same way the author Arthur Clarke does. If Arthur was going to study law instead of write science fiction he might well have chosen SLU as his law school. In order to become a lawyer he'd have to pass the (you guessed it) bar exam. My vote goes for Clarke Bar!

I tend to agree with your take. The thing that scares me though is that if we drop one of these games we're screwed.

Looking at the schedule and these players and Brad's admittedly short history as a head coach, I'll be upset if we don't come out at least .500. It's possible that we could be surprised again with a stretch run to the post season. I rather expect this will be the case. Next year however I'll be calling for Brad's ouster without seeing more serious improvement. Last year too Happy. This year too Gloomy.

I've said that this years team has a whole lot bigger upside than last years did. I see about the same record though. Perry and Brown are tough to replace. Deiner and Braun are not. If this years team doesn't gel yeah we've got problems. Amazingly I'm willing to give Brad the benefit of the doubt. BTW someone will step up to replace perry in the clutch. Someone always does. It may take a year or two to forge that player into a weapon or it may not. Either way I don't think we lost enough to justify the gloom. Lighten the heck up~!

Thanks! Perry was close to leaving when Spoon was fired. I don't find those statements offensive. Before Pinkel, I can't remember a time when Mizzou football added anything positive to the ambience and experience at MU. By the way I hold you in higher esteem than most of your bretheren.

I guess I was expecting something interesting given MUTGR's post. He's usually not the T&T type.

If Larry Esachy(sp?) can do it--Why not the MU Prez? Quinn's regime is looking more and more like the Clinton White House. All we need is some fraternization with the cheerleaders.

Surely our old pal MUTGR can enlighten us. I know what you mean about KFNS. The only time I ever turn them on is when Lizz Brown is being particularly offensive and KMOX is doing the morning march.

Drew's sister might read the board. Tough. He got a five year free ride at one of the best universities in the midwest. I didn't go to SLU but I have to believe a Jesuit institution still forces students to think critically and logically. Given that Drew should know he's dissappointed a good deal of Slu fans already. By the way, Why isn't anyone concerned about the Tadysac family or the Barantine family? Why doesn't anyone shudder at the thought of calling Frericks a "Heinrich clone." Sorry to Drew or any other Deiner family members. Drew was a waste of a five year scholarship. So long to spoon's folly if you'd rather.
