Both Mia and Ashleigh in the portal…which is why you did not see either on the bench last night.  Connor always seemed athletic and skilled  enough to handle whatever pace the  game presented when she entered…always wondered why she did not play more often??

My seats which I didn't use very often are near Mia's family. They weren't very happy with her playing time.

Coach Tate seems like a great guy, but I’d have serious questions as to what he has brought the program the last couple years… when we were getting local guys like Goodwin, Yuri, Hargrove to commit to us over major programs, he was worth having on staff.  By the end of Ford’s tenure it seemed like we had quit recruiting STL HS guys altogether.

You have multible coaches on the sidelines. What do they all bring to the table? Everyone likes Tate. Especially the players. That is worth something.

I listened to the Opening Drive and the last two segments of today's show, and I don't know what you are upset about, unless it is the other two segments.

Frank stated he talked on the phone to several people actively involved with the search.  He stated Schertz has talked directly (not through his agent) to Dr. Chaifetz, Fred P, Chris May and Joe Conran.  Apparently Schertz won't accept any job until his team is out of the NIT.  He is still in the running for other jobs.

Frank asked Dr. Chaifetz if he 'was your guy'.  Chaifetz reportedly said, "We are talking to other coaches, some who are coaching in the NCAA Tourney."  The only other name that Frank and Rammer talked about was Bryce Drew.  Bob commented that Grand Canyon has several Dr. Chaifetz level backers.

Corey Tate, as current Interim Coach, goes to the office each day.  So does Harriman.  Jimerson is interested in staying, but hasn't committed.  (He apparently likes Coach Tate.)

Parker has heard from quite a few P6 schools.

Outside of the SLU talk, the story on the Iowa lineman was interesting.  This football player originally committed to Iowa but flipped to Alabama on signing day.  At the beginning of the Jan portal, he transferred to Iowa.  Now, 3 months later, he is transferring back to Alabama.

I’m interested in your reaction. Where was the meltdown mode as I missed it.

I hope the new coach keeps Tate. I think he can be of value to the new coach. If nothing else as introduction to the STL basketball comunity.

Agreed. Still take issue with your statement of most exciting since Larry Sr.

You remember the Pyramid, right? #1 team in the country? Huggy Bear?

    Me? I'm Just in Love.

I agree with Roy. Just watch the tape of the St. Joe game.

I watched him a handful of times this season. But today I saw him in person, and every time he touched the ball I felt like I was in a wax museum. Dude is seriously sloooooow. He definitely has some all around skills, but I wasn't super impressed either. Kinda reminds me of Vouyoukas with better ball handling.

Tucker DeVries is a straight up dog. Total gangster. If AJ Green from Northern Iowa made the League, this guy is definitely going to get some playing time.

I only watched for a little while before my Sunday nap took over but he looked really slow. I admit I didn’t see much.

It makes sense to make the move one minute after the game in Olean is complete.  As others have said, get the new coach wrapped up even if not announced immediately.  Plus, start on NIL discussions with portal players.

Last, play the A10 games with an interim coach.  That alleviates the possibility of people chirping to keep Ford if they win 1 or 2 games - the Pollyanna faction of the fanbase whose favorite story is the little engine that could.

I just made the alleviates point to a friend of mine on a phone call. I do think we need to have some scepticism that this is a done deal untill it's a done deal.

Honestly don't see the point in firing before Brooklyn so it doesn't make a ton of sense to me but it also seems like thats the trend this year at other schools

I have no idea if it's true or not but I think it makes perfect sense. If you are going to make a change it gets the ball rolling. It allows you to start the coaching search. Allows the players to enter the portal if that is their choice. Maybe a Tate led team wins a game or 2.

I don't usually set things up for betting but I went back and lined up the  the games with my  spreads.  The answer is it depends.  If you remember ...at the beginning of the year, I always put a caveat about  the first 8 games of the year because this is a period of collecting data and the computer isn't as accurate during data collection.  I have even mentioned a few times that if people would bet on games using my spreads(of course nobody here would ever do that) (you know who you are) they should probably skip the first 8 games.

So here are the results....Taking the opponent in the first 8 games, you would have won 7 lost 1.  In the next 21 games  your record would have been 9-10-2. So the simple answer if you waited till the computer was ready in the 9th game you would not have become a wealthy man.

Should you bet the first 8 games next year  ...7-1 sounds good?  Probably not ...because there will still be the issue of a small data size and it could turn out to be 1-7 next year.

    Hope that answers your question

    Thanks. It does

I look at the spread a little different than most fans.  To me the spread is a diagnostic tool.  Each game the computer takes all the data  and analyzes it and says ..this is what the Bills are supposed to do.  If they come within a few points of the spread , they are doing what they are supposed to be doing. If like last night,  they underperform, it could mean they had an off night or the other team had an above average game.  If it happens over a series of games, then it is a trend and you need to take action/ change things up.  If it happens over a season, then it shows there are some serious issues and major changes are needed. Using the computer as a diagnostic  tool it  is supposed to  keep humans out of the insanity loop...where you keep doing the same thing and hoping for different results.

I laugh when every year as soon as there is a miss by the computer on a game,  posters come on the board and say fire the computer or it doesn't know what it is doing.  If the computer forecast that flipping a coin 10 times would come out as 5 heads and 5 tails and the result was 10 heads...there would be an outcry on the board (and you know who the posters would be)..."get rid of the computer ".

The computer points out the problem....It is up to the humans to figure out what changes need to made. Don't kill the messenger/computer ...fix the issues.

I am not trying to be critical. I enjoy your work. But my unsophisticated opinion is that your computer overvalued the Bills all year. Again if I took the  computers line would the Bills covered more than they lost? Or put another way did the Bills underperform their expectations?
