Who cares?  It’s all about getting to see more games.  Even winning a tournament outside the big dance is barely seen as an accomplishment.  More time too appreciate Giby and Swope and hopefully more growth for McCottry and Warlick.

So how about a starting lineup of Pakaar Robbie McCottry Warlick and Swope.

Anthony Grant rumored in the mix for the Villanova job.

I had heard he was also considered for the Miami of Florida job.  That went to that Loucks guy (I think).

Looking at some of the Dayton tweets the MBM’s want him fired.

Well, coach is going to have to have a big offseason in the portal if we don’t want to take a serious step backwards next year.  No Swope and Gibby to save us with their threes. Robbie, as fun as he is to watch at times, is too inconsistent and out of shape to be relied upon as THE main option-  that’s a hard truth we are going to have to learn to accept.

Must get a strong rim protector to cover up Robbie unless Max puts on 40 lbs of muscle.

Had some fun moments this year. Gonna miss Swope and Jemerson.

Not the year we were hoping for,  but definitely progress. The Portal will be exciting/interesting. I think Coach can talk some good players into coming here, provided we have the cash. I would think that a lot of people would be interested in playing with Robbie, given how generous he is, sharing the ball.

Kellen has been practicing this entire time, without cramps, but the coaches still wanted to shut him down for the year. Will he be back at SLU? Will Robbie? 🤔

Have to believe there is another issue with Thames besides just cramps.

Assuming Avila hopes to play at the next level or in Europe, would he benefit more from starring at SLU or moving up a level next year? (assuming the money is about the same for both options). He has had to adjust this year from MVC to higher level of competition in A-10, so next year would be another adjustment if he transfers. He could succeed either way, but continuing to develop his game as a star at SLU seems more of a sure bet.

Robbie can make a living playing basketball just not in the NBA. Look at a player like Drew Timme. Timme was much higher profiled and appeared to me to be more athletic than Robbie. Drew is stuck in the G league and in spite of doing well is in the G league. Robbie should invest his NIL money in the S&P index. Go play in Europe for ten years. Come back and coach at SLU high and enjoy life.

I think a lot of you are overestimating the actual turnover that occurs in a program on the upswing. Seems like it’s posters of a certain, age. No offense. Also undervaluing the types of guys Schertz has brought in as well as Schertz ability to build relationships. The way Schertz has brought along McCottry is a prime example.

We will see. Schertz’s Texas guys left for the money instead of coming here with him. I hope you are right but I wouldn’t bet too much on it.

Now it's my turn to be the optimist. The core next year is Avila, Anya, McCottry, and Dotzler. That's somewhere to start. Let's hope Warlick and Pikkar stay. And if Thames can get healthy, they have a nice group of seven players. They clearly need ball-handing, rim protection, and another wing as Thames insurance. Jax Kerr is a top 150 player according to 247 hoops. Hutson looks like a keeper. I think 2-3 good transfers and this is a top 4 A-10 next year and a tourney contender, like they were this year before injuries.

Let me beat Roy to this. Your speculation is useless. We don’t know who or if anyone is coming back including our coach. Let’s wait until the portal opens before we start making out lineups

With us at #10, that pits us against #15 on Wednesday, which is either St Bonaventure (6-22, 2-15 in conf) or LaSalle (8-22, 2-15 in conf). We should be able to beat either of them the way we are playing right now. If we win, then Thursday we get #7, probably UMass (assuming Dayton beats St Bonaventure Saturday, which I think is likely). We lost to UMass 72-55 on Jan 5th, but I think we’ve been playing better since then, so I have to favor us. If we beat UMass, then for our 3rd game in 3 days we play #2, George Mason, (23-5, 13-4 in conference) who demolished us 80-53 at Chaifetz. Sounds like a loss for us, except they are stumbling down the stretch, losing their last 2 games to Davidson 66-50 and St Joseph 83-69. The George Mason team of those games we can beat.

So who knows?  It’s a tall order, but that’s we play the games.

Went to my first in person game last night. I was impressed with how Tillet ran her bench. She rotate about 9 players keeping everybody fresh. They played hard.

People who don't show up. Nobody is coming to the game for Guy Phillips, he doesn't promote the team on his shows.

Look I am not an advocate for Guy. But for all the anti May post many of you have this is the weakest. I just don’t get the Guy hate.

Amari McCottry. He played a great game. Who is Anya going to go in for? Avila? Jimerson? Swope? Johnson? Schertz has said he likes certain matchups. McCottry gave us another threat on the perimeter.

You don’t go from playing 35 minutes a game if you are not in foul trouble  to 17 minutes because someone is playing great. It’s not a one on one substitution pattern. If anything McCottry would normally substitute Kobe.
