Thank goodness we abandoned this for the Nebraska MTE... could’ve been a disaster
Somebody should get a gold star.

Many issues here but the biggest problem rests with college presidents who either condone or ignore the cheating or abusive behavior. Until leadership grows a pair it will only get worse.

It's probably just me but some of those campus events are pure hogwash, with no real competition for the P6 team hosting it. Looks like a thinly-veiled attempt to just get games in. Cases in point:
Kentucky hosting Detroit, Morehead State and Richmond (now minus Sherrod)
Illinois hosting NC A&T, Ohio and Wright State.
Iowa hosting Southern and NC Central.
K State hosting SD State, Colorado (exception) and Drake.
Ole Miss hosting Arkansas State, Central Arkansas and Jackson State.
Washington hosting Portland State and Cal State - Fullerton.
Xavier hosting Bradley, Toldeo and Oakland.
Rutgers hosting Fairleigh Dickinson and Rider.
And my personal favorite.....
Duke hosting Elon, Howard and Bellarmine.
Unless they moved up this year Bellarmine is D2. I believe the play Elon every year.

That’s awesome. Looks like they shot this from the rooftop (Clubhouse) of the Arcade Building.
After closer inspection those views appear to be from further west and from closer to Market. Wonder if that’s SLU law school? That is definitely from the top of the law school.

Frank just said on the radio that he’s heard that French will probably be gone after this year. However, there is a chance Perkins and Goodwin stick around for one more.
Obviously this would be a good thing for our program but for basketball conversation doesn't this hurt the development of a TJ? More transfers?
-
Frank had a brief interview with Travis on the morning news. Ford smiled at the possibility of the 3 seniors sticking around. He said seniors will not count on future rosters. So you could have 13 players plus whatever senior who would want to play. I take this to mean it doesn't effect anyone but seniors.

Do you know whether schools like SLU get paid to play in these events?
My guess is they get expenses.

I have a rather negative few of all college recruiting. I would like to believe that we are perfectly clean but I don't know that. It would not surprise me that Memphis came in and made his family an offer they couldn't refuse.

In more honesty, our software company has been busy. I just clicked the Upgrade button (well, more than that, but it took me about 10 minutes)
But You clicked it.

Dayton had one unguardable player who is projected to be a top three NBA lottery pick and another player who was near unguardable. They shot 37% from three as a team on high volume. And if you sent the Flyers to the line they would punish you to the tune of 72%. The guy with the basketball in his hands most of the time shot 87%. What separates very good and elite teams is offensive execution in the last 5 min of games.
Being very good is still good enough to make a deep run in the tournament if you get hot. A very good Auburn team made the Final Four as a 4 seed two years ago.
And we almost beat them here and could have there.
-
Dayton could have been a 1 seed. Could we be as good as Dayton was? Why not?
-
What's with this 5-7-12 seed talk. I want to be a ONE.

Has anyone ever seen a program go this many schollies over the limit? I haven't.
I don’t know the number but Pitino had several over the limit at Louisville.

I guess my question would be is SLU not telling him similar things about how they plan to use him? He makes it sound like they are not - am I missing something?
I think you could be reading something that isn’t necessarily there.

they cant go out, so they are working from campus making calls and texting. not sure we would be getting the bang for our buck hiring a full time guy to text messages to prospective recruits and never see face to face.
I think you stated this before, they may be trying to save a little money during trying times.
-
Travis Ford and the Billiken are sitting in the front row at the Cardinal game today. That should put us over the top.

Then it will be because someone transfers. Because the staff has been pretty clear in its intent to land a big.
Someone always transfers

I was under the impression that schools could not talk about a recruit until he signs. I guess it doesn't matter if you are a coach talking to a reporter?
I think to some degree this is a SLU thing. It is a convenient excuse to avoid the subject. I am not saying it's not an NCAA rule but other schools seem to be far more liberal talking about recruits.

That video really makes how easy TJ gets up standout.
He must have springs implanted in his legs.

I would have lost money on this. Didn't think he would show. Glad I was wrong.

Talbert how did you like Tatum’s numbers tonight? Not bad for overrated player.

Quite frankly, I'd love to talk more about how he puts up empty stats and refuses to play team ball.
I've already stated that I'm not perfect and I think I stated public personality flaws. Those are fine too, but I've had enough of ESPN and Doris Burke telling me how perfect he is while all of the clear flaws are public knowledge.
Also, you're right. I don't post often. I see how people with differing opinions are treated on this message board and I've always been weary of being alienated from a board I spend a lot of time on. I went for it last night, and, well the results were predictable. This message board needs to realize that and unpopular hot take does not make someone a troll.
I don’t know why I am bothering to respond to this as I said before your original post was pure crap. How can you say he’s not a team player. Good rebounder. Some of the best defensive metrics in the playoffs. Good passer who shares the ball. He’s the go to isolation guy when the clock is running down. Either you know nothing about basketball or just like being a troll.

As I watch the Easter Conference Finals, I'm really starting to dislike Jayson Tatum. Between spurning the Billikens, the constant whining, and the fact that he's the the new ESPN golden boy without accomplishing anything, I really hope he and the Celtics get swept by the Heat in the most heartbreaking way possible.
That's all. Go Billikens!
Saying this is a bad post is not enough. This post is a bunch of crap.

There is a lot of talk about doing away with non-league games. Thus January.
