I was listening to 1380 on my way home last night and BM said that he had gotten a phone call from Majerus wanting to know if Bernie was going to Ram's camp. He was spending a couple of weeks in Milwaukee and wanted to hook up with Bernie if he was in the area. I think the next couple of weeks is down time for a lot of coaches. I think it good that RM and BM are tight. Can't hurt to have Bernie in our corner.

I saw in the Metro section of the Post that Larry is having a camp at the rec center Aug. 4-8. Quentin Richardson and Darius Miles will participate. What was interesting to me is that Justin Tatum is the contact person. Does anybody know what Tatum does for a living? Does he work for Larry? I'm also glad they hold it at SLU.

The seats that were taken were all tagged. As soon as you picked your seats were marked. They take your info ,put it in a computer,give you a copy and your gone. I'll say it again, it was well done.

Roy you will be fine. You will be closer to the floor then you were at Scott. The sections near the band were pretty open. Lots of blue seats were open for the big spenders. I thought it was very well run. They even had a free bar while you waited to go in.

Spring recruiting doesn't really end. While a kid can't sign a binding letter of intent there is nothing to keep a kid from enrolling in school and showing up in August. I can't remember who but we recently had a player who verballed after the official signing period and just showed up. They can still apply for admittance.

I think the reason everybody dropped is the Billiken Club increased their universe. I don't know the details but I think sponsors like Lou Fusz got swapped out Billiken Club points for their contributions in kind. I f he was giving 2 cars to the athletic dept for their use he got points etc. In the long run it doesn't make any difference if sponsors are included in the Billiken Club or they hold out prime seats to begin with.

As someone stated above Claiborne has had no love for SLU since he was dropped from the SLU broadcast many years ago. As a little background Claibs.was just a guy who hung around West Pine in the eary Grawer years. He became something of a go- for around the program. Somehow got the gig as the play by play radio man. Became friends with Bonner and delivered Bonner and himself to agent Jim Steiner. Somehow became agent for an all pro Dallas lineman[name excapes me]. Parlays all of this into a radio job with the newly founded sports radio industry. Somehow gets a reputation as a sports guru. To me he fits the mode of if you act like you know what your doing people people beleive you do. Most of the time I think he's full of crap.In any event he has no appreciation from where he got his start.
