SLU wins, athletic department loses

No Offense, but if you try to put bigger instruments (ie Trombones, sousaphones(tubas)) into the space of a regular unmovable seating row with a music stand and the other stuff we need to play, it amount of stuff just does not fit into that volume of space, and I hope they take that into consideration somewhere down the line. Not to mention the drums and basses

The last set of renderings for the arena indicated multi use with stands in the end zones that were moveable to allow for an arena football set up. Since the design has changed since then, who knows what to expect.

About a year ago, Mike did make contact with the SLU people in charge to voice his concerns about space needs. Pretty simple, we need an area that would normally seat people in removeable folding chairs. Currently, the area we are in would seat about 200 people in those chairs (we give up space to the baby blues and other slu athletic dept folks, so we may not need a space that big.) Having played in several arenas with permenent seats, they really dont work well. Thats the only section on the lower level where that would be necessary. Not a huge change to an arena. Mike was on top of it to get out in front as he did.
