slu72
The recent spate of posters doubting the arena will get built is understandable. But I think Fr. Biondi is looking beyond what this will do for our hoops program. Be completely objective, you could say, "hey, who gives a damn where these guys play their home games, it's not like people are going to be camping out overnight to get tickets to an NIT game." But yet Biondi went ahead and announced a major fund raising objective...why? I think he did it because he knows for us to be top flight school, not just hoops wise, but total university wise an on campus arena would be a plus. That's why I'm thinking it will get done. Also, for him to back off now would be admitting failure and this guy doesn't have that kind of track record.
Cowboy
I hope SLU72 is right, and I share many of the same thoughts with one more added here, we were told from the beginning that the health reasearch bldg was priority #1 from a fund raising perspective. Now that this project has been funded, let's hope the arena is getting the attention now.
davidnark
So where is the big arena announcement coming "later this summer" that Cheryl and others promised us?

StLouBlue
Nothing specifically about the arena, but just a quick note on new hires, promotions and what is going on. http://slubillikens.collegesports.com/ot/s...ad-message.html

Major Majerus
I'm attending a fund raising cocktail party on 8/25 with Cheryl, Brad, and Shimmy. It's at a private home, and I'm hoping it'll be small enough so that some pointed questions can be answered.

darrenpais
FYI, Ed Harris in Apollo 13 played the role of Gene Krantz, Parks Alum and former director of NASA mission control at Huston.
