Lord Elrond Posted October 29, 2024 Author Posted October 29, 2024 65-44 final, Billikens win, but will not play a worse team this year. Quote
Pistol Posted October 30, 2024 Posted October 30, 2024 Ugly stuff. If I'm looking for reasons to be optimistic, though: Gray was back in the lineup. We might really have something in Anumele. Streaky but fearless, and she looks the part. She was good from outside (3-6) on a day when Kennedy and Bergstrom (combined 2-11) weren't hitting. In a bad offensive performance, the defense was there. They didn't let S&T even begin to creep back into the game. There's a lot to work on, but unfortunately not much time left. The season starts with 2 tough road games - South Dakota won 23 games last season and Drake ran away with the Valley (26-9, 19-1, MVC Tournament champs) and is expected to repeat. In a truly odd coincidence, both the men's and women's teams will start the regular season in the state of South Dakota on the same day. Quote

Remember, they started out 5-15 Tillett’s first year, ended up winning the A10 Tournament, and went to the NCAA tournament where no Billiken team had gone before. They have things to work on. Shooting must improve, frequency of turnovers must decrease. Sadly, looks like no TV on Nov 4th vs South Dakota. CenHudDude and Pistol 2 Quote

They also started off rough last year. I'd really love to come out hot once Quote
OkieBilliken Posted October 30, 2024 Posted October 30, 2024 They did actually start the season by beating Missouri and Mo State last year. Then they lost Julia early and when she came back, she seemed like she was going half speed for about a month. The healthier she got the better they got. Going to miss her. Looking at last year's results, not sure how I completely forgot that we got a forfeit win over Davidson at the end of last year, They ran out of players due to injuries after starting out 11-1. That was weird. Quote
