I have been going to games at Chaifetz since it opened.  I can honestly tell you that I have never been to a game at Chaifetz where the atmosphere felt like a morgue.  I am talking, like you were, figuratively not literally.  I have been to Billiken games in other markets that have felt like a morgue. Duquesne was the best example of that where the few fans that did show up just sat on their hands the whole game.

SLU has a rather loyal and passionate fan base that seems to always show up.  Whether our attendance numbers are better or are worse any given season depends on the excitement level surrounding the program that season and whether it brings out the more casual fans.

really?  Granted its been a years, but there's definitely been games where it was ....bad. Yes there's A10 teams with worse, but I refuse to be compared to all but a few teams in this conference because I don't think a few of the teams should even be here. 

 

Attendance has been underwhelming for years now.  I don't get it, i'm not sure why, but I'm doing my part.

Attendance being disappointing or underwhelming is very different from Chaifetz feeling like a morgue during a game.  I have not been to one game in the building where I thought the atmosphere was bad.  Low attendance at times, Yes.  Bad atmosphere, No.

I guess I associate bad attendance with bad atmosphere quite a bit. Theres times where the crowd might be smaller, but really loud, sure.  What there's a lot of times where crowd was small and you could have a convo with a guy a few rows back.
