Taj79
.. was brief as the #22 ranked Flyers got demolished by 17 at Davidson last night. At one point the score was Davidson 40, Dayton 9, Jordan Sibert 18. Sibert finished with 23 with 18 coming before half. The second half, Kendall Pollard finished his five-point first half with 18 more and tied Sibert for team scoring lead with 23 also. So 46 points from these two and 14 from the rest. Pierre finished equally with five --- points and turnovers each. Kyle Davis was shut out; Scoochie tallied a lone bucket. They may have been 5 and 0 in the A10 but they beat us, Fordham, La Salle, Duquesne and the Bonnies. They peaked. Let the free fall begin. Davidson is just really good at home so far this season. Only one victory by less than double digits at Belk this season.
Dwayne's_World
Considering that they don't even have any bigs, Dayton's current guard heavy squad is pretty good. If they had just one big guy who could play in the low post, they would be a top 25 team for sure.

Fordham actually was tied with Dayton at half at Rose Hill Gym, controlled the tempo in the first half, playing a soft zone, and using its bigs. Dayton was able to up the tempo in the 2nd Half and win that game. But to me that first half exposed Dayton. Once Dayton has to play the good teams in the A10, even the middle of the road teams, UD will be in for some trouble IMO. UD may still be good enough to make the NCAA Tournament, and Dayton is tough at home, but #22 in the nation? I don't think so. I don't think you can be a big winner playing 7 players, none above 6'6". We will see about UD.
lquarles
I think Dayton will also lose to UR. Their lack of height and depth is starting to show.
wgstl
Agreed that they may have peaked ranking wise but they're still a top 35 team, and we need them in the tourney.
