STL Hoops Insider
Willie's 10.6 per game are great, but someone else has gotta step up.
SpiritofESaint
conklin will be there, in my opinion needs to get on a weightlifting regimine and eat 2 pounds of beef a day to throw on some more bulk.
NashvilleBilliken
Willie's 10.6 per game are great, but someone else has gotta step up.If Conklin can just work on that vertical, he'd probably have similar numbers. I'm not sure the kid can even dunk. The good news is that between Reed, Remekun and Smith, we should be getting more than our fair share of rebounds once the frosh put on a little weight. jimbofive
nh that's pretty funny. Indeed. Conklin's plenty big these days, he needs plyo workouts like crazy. I don't care if he can dunk, though it'd sure be nice. With his muscle and determination, the only things possibly missing from the BAMF rebounder equation are awareness and athleticism. I think he just needs that holy grail... "ups".
SpiritofESaint
agreed, box jumps until he is blue in the face John Smith is also a guy that really needs to step up. I would introduce him to a nutrionalist as well as a personal trainer, weight lifting regimine, and aim to take in 5 thousands calories a day in the offseason to get some beef on his frame. SLU070810
SLU already has a Director of strength & conditioning, with a masters in exercise physiology, who was the assistant strength and conditioning specialist at The Ohio State University prior to coming to slu. The team also works with a nutritionist, ATC's on a daily basis and PT's on prn basis. Needless to say, they have a good staff that knows what they're doing. I'd say it's best leaving it up to them for now...
