SluSignGuy
http://www.stltoday.com/stltoday/sports/st...6F?OpenDocument Apparently one of the considered assistants is Porter Moser, former Illinois State coach. Don't think this has been reported yet. C'mon Biondi, hit that home run.
STLfan
"Majerus, in case he does take the job, has been talking to candidates for his staff" I think that's a good sign. Not sure what I think of Porter Moser. As a head coach Illinois State - 51-67 .432 Arkansas Little Rock - 54-34 .614 http://www.politicalgateway.com/news/read/66989 http://goredbirds.cstv.com/sports/m-baskbl...r_porter00.html
Sheltiedave
Porter Moser would be as bad a hire for AC as Cuonzo Martin would be good.
p diddy
getting martin as an AC would be great, but it's unrealistic since he is already at a big 10 school, unless he could get equal or more money (that would be a great departure from the norm at slu). porter did not get much done as a head coach, but i've been impressed with his recruiting over the years. illinois state had some pretty good players. the Osias eldridge kid was a talented freshman. he would be someone that would really work the chicago area hard. and with majerus' name behind him, you could probably get a few gems. you won't get the derrick roses of the world, but players such as marque perry, rico hill and anthony parker could be had. bad boyz for life
VTIME
Would Bobby Hill follow Moser from Ill. State?
brianstl
But, Bobby hill is not close to the level of player RM will be bringing in. If he is, this whole process has been worthlees.
VTIME
No offense taken. The kid has experience, started 8 of the last 9 games and was just starting to find himself. And SLU really doesnt have any depth. And I hope Majerus does land some 4 stars and top 150's but it would be nice if Porter could bring this athlete over. 3star_recruit
Those Utah teams were largely made up of top 300 type guys. Top 100 players were the exception, not the rule.
knight_rider
Something Timmerman did not mention as a sticking point is the cell phone issue. It has reared it's ugly head again and Biondi does not want to pay for them. Probably trying to figure out how one of the "Deep Pockets" can rectify this situation. Cell Phones...... Cell Phones; We're Talkin about Cell Phones. Not, not a million dollar contract..... Cell Phones!
brianstl
If that is coming up again.
