  1. Cringing reading my old posts. Was an absolute sucker. Going to chalk that up to being a dumb undergrad.
  2. Removing all that has happened since 2019, especially this season, it’s still inconceivable to think that one conference championship warranted a 10 year extension at top dollar. That is just being played by an agent, plain and simple, if it’s true.
  3. Fire everyone. That’s inexcusable.
  4. The tricky thing with Billikenswin is they haven’t logged in since December. So doubt us lowly posters will be hearing contract details anytime soon.
  5. This past off-season looks worse and worse the further into the season we get. Took on multiple guys with eligibility concerns, a guy who eventually gets kicked off the team, 2 de-committed players, and were also allegedly strung along by the Memphis big man. Doesn’t really seem like a great sign of where the program is at.
  6. I would like just once for someone to ask Travis on the record why he thought Brad had such a good case for a waiver. It won’t happen, but it was pretty evident from public facts that he wasn’t going to get approved.
  7. @The Wiz Does the projection change for this game and rest of season much with the departure of Tim Dalger?
  8. If this happens, that’ll probably be it for most of the fandom. Attendance is already in the gutter, recruiting is reaching for questionable talent levels based on the last few offers, and apathy is setting in for a lot of fans. Keeping TF around two more years could essentially kill the program in this rapidly changing landscape.
  9. There’s a big difference between saying the right thing, and being the guy to fix it. The problems of Ford’s teams on defense have gotten worse the deeper we get into his tenure. That doesn’t suggest he’s the guy to fix them.
  10. To the surprise of no one, SLU pressed only once the game was out of hand.
  11. I miss Francis Okoro.
  12. I know the point of the thread isn’t really this, but how much better of a team is SLU really with Brad? Offense is better, defense is still horrendous, and all this results to 2-4 with him in the lineup. 1 point win over LA Tech 12 point loss to NC State 7 point loss to Loyola 12 point loss to George Mason 3 point win over Saint Joe’s 5 point loss to Dayton.
  13. And Holmes went on to score 11 points in those 5 minutes. Thames hit a garbage time shot at the buzzer too, which made it look closer than it was. Bruce did fine against Holmes.
  14. Yeah exactly. It’s weird to track people’s posting habits. I used to love being super active in GDTs, until I realized I was missing large chunks of the game by posting. Everyone does it their own way, and I’m certainly not judging how anyone is or isn’t posting.
  15. Sometimes people don’t post because they’re, you know, watching the game.
  16. Reputations change quickly. It’s all about if a person can reinvent themselves when they move back down a level after being at a P6 and not meeting expectations. I just really don’t want to end up with someone who ends up being another Travis Ford, and SLU is stuck in a land of being good, but not dancing.
  17. I don’t honestly thing SLU will land Mack at the end of the day. He’ll have his pick of jobs, and possibly multiple Big East opportunities to pick from this cycle, if some rumors around Sean Miller at Xavier are to be believed. I don’t necessarily have a dream candidate at the end of the day. Some interesting names have been thrown out between here and Twitter. I guess if I had to name a profile though, I’d lean more on the side of a guy who is rising through the low/mid-major ranks, winning with less resources than SLU probably has.
  18. If they consider a single person on this list besides Mack, just fold the program now.
  19. Majerus’ teams also were in the 35 second shot clock era. It was a very different paced time in college basketball. He obviously was still a masterful defensive tactician, and would have still put out great defenses in this shorter clock world.
  20. He can’t defend his shadow. I’d take Hasahn, DJ Foreman, and Okoro over him 6 days a week and twice on Sunday.
  21. Maybe the good doctor came in person tonight to cut the buyout check himself.
  22. Not saying I’m not impressed with the player, but don’t think it answers those questions. Something is not adding up here based on the other offers he has. Maybe he truly is a hidden gem, but the lack of offers outside of a couple low major programs and SLU makes me wonder.
  23. There isn’t one. Either donors and May think that SLU can be a relevant program, or they don’t. Wasting money on NIL as long as Travis is here makes 0 sense. Bite the bullet, pay the buyout, and bring someone in with a plan to get SLU where the program should be.
  24. Oh, in no way was I saying you’re placing those arbitrary win totals, just using it as a jumping off point. You’re right in that all we can do is let it play out. I’m fairly confident Sincere returning will make it more fun, but not address the biggest issue of the team: defense. Regardless, if the big money wants Travis, he’ll be here, whether we like it or not.
  25. I think there are a lot of good discussion points in here, but really curious what “salvage the season” would be defined as. If Sincere comes back and this team ends up as an 18 win team, that doesn’t really show anything. It’s just kind of an arbitrary goal post. The only question that needs to be answered is if Travis Ford is the best coach to get SLU into the tournament going forward. Sincere coming back and the team looking a bit better doesn’t answer that question, for me at least.
