  1. Dont' forget that Jacobs was hurt for a portion of last season. That certainly impacted his performance. Coach did say on his Coach's show last season that Jacobs would have been his back up point guard if/when he got healthy. Besides his shooting, Jacobs gives us some rebounding, and active hands on defense. He is third on the team in steals. He is 50% from the field, 43% from the arc, and 72% from the line. Just like Jimerson, I would like Jacobs to get to the line a little more often. He is currently averaging 2 FT per game. Doubling that would be nice.
  2. It ain't my rule. I have no idea how much value NCAA puts margin of victory into their NET formula. I think that is on a Need to Know basis.
  3. Yes, I agree. The choice is to guard Jimerson, or help out on French. If both are shooting around 50%, then the choice is easy...stay on Jimerson. I wish Jimerson would get to the foul line more. I acknowledge his primary role is a spot up three point shooter, which he has done very well, but in 9 games he has only shot 7 FT, converting on 6. Jump shooters don't get fouled that often, unless the defender makes a dumb jump into him, but he needs more than 1 FT average per game.
  4. No. NCAA's NET ranking is the primary focus of the Committee. (They do view other ranking systems.) The NET was built to create a ranking system that was as accurate as possible while also evaluating team performance fairly. To ensure fairness, certain types of data were omitted from the model. Of key importance, game date and order were omitted to give equal importance to both early and late-season games. In addition, a cap of 10 points was applied to the winning margin to prevent rankings from encouraging unsportsmanlike play, such as needlessly running up the score in a game where the outcome was certain.
  5. Yeah, yeah, I know, but this is still fun. https://twitter.com/JonRothstein/status/1204012819215245312?s=20
  6. Yes, I'm looking W A Y too far ahead, but our Mountain West opponent next season, San Diego State, is 10-0. They only have 3 seniors on their roster. Many, many things can happen between now and then, but that game could be a very nice (RPI and NET) game.
  7. Most blocked shots are obvious, but some blocked shots can be somewhat subjective, if the ball is barely tipped, lot's of hands in the play, etc. But I thought French had a least 3 v Tulane. He was only credited with 1.
  8. Jimerson has now qualified for three's attempted records, with 50 attempts being the benchmark. Today he stands 5th on the Single Season Record 3FG%, at 0.453%, just behind Tommy Liddell III's 0.454%. (I don't remember Liddell being that proficient of a three point artist, but obviously he was.) French has moved up to 18th on Career Rebounds. Goodwin stands in 4th on Career Minutes Average at 33.6 mpg, right behind the All-Time Billiken Great, Anthony Bonner.
  9. Seton Hall's Sandro Mamukelashvili, who hit us for 17, reportedly broke his wrist tonight.
  10. There seemed to be confusion today with our shooters as to which three point line was the right one. The back one was NBA and the lighter one was NCAA. From my view, most shots were from the NBA line. Goodwin did get one from the college line as I was surprised it was a 3. Thought the inner line was women’s before his shot.
  11. https://www.scoopswithdannymac.com/gibson-jimerson-not-just-a-one-trick-pony/ This article was posted Dec 7, before the Tulane game.
  12. Dayton putting a whooping on a good St. Mary's team. At half time 46-25. Toppin having pedestrian game so far, but Crutcher is lighting it up with 5 of 6 from the arc. Something must be contagious today for the A10 from distance.
  13. Ford actually pleased with the O and D. Called it the best total game, but 'it is easy to call that when you make 17 3's'. Liked the way we handled their matchup zone. French was sick before the game, threw up during halftime, and no one told Coach until after the game. WARRIOR.
  14. Good question. Maybe count both and get up to several?
  15. The didn't announce the crowd, but I would say there were 'several people' there.
  16. French is gassed. The media TO came really late.
  17. Five assists, which turned into 10-12 points, is good enough in my book.
  18. Five assists for Collins in the first half. That's all he has to do....dribble penetration and kick out. Nice.
  19. George Mason is the first A10 team with 10 wins, beating American last night. Mason currently has 2 Q1 wins. (Quad shifting will occur when conference seasons start.) The Bonnies celebrate 50 years of their Final Four team, defeating Hofstra in front of Bob Lanier's gang. With Osunniyi back, have the Bonnies figured it out? And GW grabbed some headlines defeating previously undefeated Delaware by 10. If you use RPI, and a cut off of 45, today the A10 has four tourney teams, Dayton at 24, Rhode Island at 39, George Mason at 44 and Richmond at 45. (SLU is 103 and VCU is 119.) Just interesting at the quarter pole, nothing more.
  20. Certain MBM's need to deal with this.....preferably in silence.
  21. This pretty much sinks Davidson for the season. Frampton was a starter and lead the A10 in three's made last season. Hugh loss.
