  1. Colgate, unless they win the Patriot
  2. If Belmont loses in the OVC tourney, they should be looking for a game. Today they are 81, but would fall with any OVC loss. A game in Nashville would probably be a Q2 game for the Bills with a remote chance it would be Q1. Wright State is a second possibility. They are already out of the Horizon and are at NET 68. A game at their house would be Q1.
  3. A lot of bad basketball played in that game.
  4. Just a minor clarification that's not very important, Rebound Career records go back to 52-53, Blocks and Steals back to 75-76 and Assists back to 69-70. Those categories weren't tracked before then. Ed Macauley's rebounds will remain a complete unknown.

  6. These are not the official Atlantic 10 Conference Awards. These come from scattered media members including Chapley.
  7. Stu on with Frank: Stu relayed that Coach said an extra game next week is still on the table. It would be an OOC team, not a A-10 team. Likely depends on how the A10 Tourney plays out. If SLU is in the Championship game, it would be dead. The Bubble, SLU is in with possibly Duke, Michigan State, NC, blue bloods that likely will carry weight due to their pedigree. Ford has turned to rebounding and defending over offense (Bell over Jimerson). Thatch has moved up the order in regard to being in the game in key situations. Sees Bills as upper 4 next season in A10. Goodwin and French, comments in post game, didn't give any indications that they will change their minds on leaving. Ton of transfers will be out there next season. Until Perkins, the Juco route hasn't been as productive as straight transfers. Stu says Okoro has started practicing a bit. He won't have the pressure to come in and be a big producer since we have Linssen and Bell. Called the A10 tourney reshuffle 'bizarre'.
  8. Might as well put this here, Ryan Daly said he is going pro and not returning to St. Joe's.
  9. Just some add on's in red to Pistol's excellent recap.
  10. Agree and agree. Mitchell takes too many plays off. He wanted no part of French in the second half. The coach can help him understand that is unacceptable, but he needs to do the work. I agree that he needs to either go pro or find a new locale.
  11. I am in total agreement about the importance of Goodwin. However, prior to him even being born, two players plus one coach that for me saved the program from dissolving, or going to the College Level, were Douglass, Gray and Coach Grawer. Probably need to add Burden to that group. After Ekker's attempt to torpedo the program, these three plus Coach G saved the program. I go back to the last Ekker season, and it was beyond bleak at Kiel. So if we are hanging up program savers, these guys need to go up along with Goodwin. But I am with Billiken Roy in keeping the rafters for the best of the best. (The Baseball Hall of Fame to me is now the Baseball Hall of Pretty Good Ball Players. Let's not go there at Chaifetz.) And no matter what the future brings, for me you don't retire anyone's jersey until they have put their shoes away at the end of their career. Good discussion.
  12. I am glad you posted this because i was think the same thing yesterday, but I could not come up with any resource to substantiate. While Goodwin is one of the all time greatest Billikens, you have a long list if you want to start hanging up jerseys. I bet we would come up with 30 numbers from a discussion on this board. Example, David Burns had maybe the best two year career in Billiken history.
  13. Goodwin has 35 and French has 27.

  15. Lansing's contract expires March 31. So he isn't being fired. The renewal of his contract is what is up for discussion. Yes, a subtle difference.
  16. Richmond plays their game 1 (and game 2) at the Siegel. VCU plays their first game at the Siegel. That ain't right. Move VCU to Robbins.
  17. In vivid color! For my two cents, Davidson has the easiest initial path of the top four.
  18. WOW. Grace's three point buzzer beater didn't beat the buzzer. What a win. Who said St Joe's wasn't good? (Really, refs could have called a foul on that shot. I think it was Daly pushing Grace below the waist.)
  19. Adaway misses a three at the buzzer and Dayton escapes with a tight 3 point win at Olean.
  20. 40-30 St. Joe's into the second half. Francis is out with a bad back.
  21. Pardon the Interruption, but the NIT will have 16 teams and all games played in Dallas-Ft. Worth. (Not worthy of a new thread.)
  22. They are going to name 4 extra teams, i.e. the first four out. If one of the selected teams can't go, then the first out gets the nod. Second one can't go, then the second one out gets the nod. There are separate policies for when a team is forced to withdraw: one for before the announcement of the championship field and one for after the release of the bracket. Replacement teams will only be introduced into the championship within 48 hours after the announcement of the field, and at no time thereafter. Teams that can't go after that deadline will forfeit their game.
  23. It is almost the same thing, but age is the driving force, not college grade. (Yeah they are related, except for the increasing number of foreign players). The vast majority of first round picks are 19 or 20 years old. Once you hit 22 years old, age becomes a big issue on draft night. Second round NBA drafted players either made the squad or got 2 way contracts with the G league. The 2 ways went for $450,000 this past draft. I'm guessing a handful got pink slips, but I couldn't give you that list.
  24. Yes, that is why I put a ? by it.
