I agree and I wasn't saying he is above criticism. Just saying my expectations were set with a different roster. His offense definitely has left a lot to be desired and he hasn't adjusted it to fit the players he has since he doesn't have a shooter. But again I guess it comes to expectations. I never expected Ford to be the next Majerus in coaching. The defense this year has been good but still can find problems like you pointed out. I was expecting a great recruiter with Ford and with the freshmen he has brought in, class he has coming in next year, I haven't been disappointed there.

Sure but when I look at why I had high expectations, a big part was the deep front court and Isabell being a big part of offense. We lost Santos and Gordon and Isabell has been a disappointment. I dont know what happened with Santos but knew Gordon was risk but one worth taking. Just was off on Isabell helping the offense and him being a grad transfer, Ford didn't have years evaluating how he'd fit in like he does with freshmen recruits. Besides, sit 2 put him in position where he needed Isabell to be big part of offense. I guess I just can't put those things on Ford. If those 3 weren't on the roster coming into the season, I wouldn't have had high expectations.

The one thing to keep in mind is it was almost exactly a year ago most of us were saying the administrators and the Title IX office gave us the death penalty or that it would take years to get out of. Ford kept the recruits, got a few spring recruits and followed it up with a solid early signing period. Not saying Ford is above criticism but I never expected a Majerus as a coach. I expected him to recruit enough talent that can win the A10 and I still think he can be able to do that.

Yes, I wanted Gordon because that is what he said, he wanted to turn SLU into a winner. He had different problems it sounded like that caused problems here. Again, winners like to win but winners also see how they can help and lead their team to win. Not all kids think, "great this team is a tournament team so I can join, sit on the bench, maybe get a few minutes a game but hey I will be in the tournament." No, a lot want to be a big part that leads the team to the tournament. If you think kids won't join a team because they aren't winning, fine I am not going to try and change your mind but a lot of kids want to see the minutes and how they can contribute to make the team into a winner if it isn't.

To be honest, if a kid doesn't join just due to the fact the team isn't winning currently, not sure if I want him. I want the kids that have the mindset that they can come in and contribute to make SLU a winning team. Dont think that's true. He says he doesnt get on the guys about making them. They know they need to make them so just yelling at them about it doesnt help.

Agreeing with posts above but also find it odd to add Isabell into the big loss department. He is a grad transfer so in theory we could find another grad transfer like that but mainly because I don't think he has been a catalyst to the offense. His style hasn't really been a fit. Bess will be a big loss but hoping/thinking that Perkins/Hargrove will be able to combine to fill in for his offense. I don't see a downward trend next year, especially because I think Ford will be able to find some more talent this spring.

The Billikens have nothing to hang their heads down for except they didn't shoot that well and they gave away this season. Good post and I agree with it, that part just reminded me of the Frank Thomas quote which always makes me laugh.

Perkins won't be a freshmen and Jimerson is a 5th year senior who moved to a better team to play against better competition. I understand what you are saying but these two are also scorers so even if Jimerson comes off the bench for a few minute stretches to stop the opponent from packing the paint, it will help. As long as they are here in the summer I have no doubt they can be able to pick it up quick enough to contribute. But I am still excited for this year. This team competes every game and except for 1 game, has been in every game until the end. Lets get another winning streak going and win the conference.

They would go to 11 because you can do a 20 game league schedule in round robin format, playing each team twice. Big 12 just went to a 20 game league schedule and I think ACC is going to that. The thought is the extra conference games look better come selection time compared to 18 they play now. With 12 teams you can't setup the schedule that nicely.

Man you guys are totally over reacting. So he looks very impressive because he can jump so high that his head looks close to the rim to block a shot from a top 50 recruit in 2020 in a big game. Let me know when he grows 2" and can side step a trash can in an empty gym and his head barely breaks the plane of the bottom of the net.

I saw it. Basically as willie said, the guys in the locker room want to be there and if you don't you are free to leave. They know guys that are still there want to be there and that is bringing them closer together and better chemistry together now.
