  1. Agree...The kid probably just turned 18, give him a break Old Guy...
  2. Looking at his stats and highlights, this kid is a flat-out BALLER!
  3. Yep, MaxPreps stats were inaccurate....from the official SLU posting today: “Last season, he averaged a double-double with 16.0 ppg and 12.0 rpg. Additionally, he averaged 5.0 apg, 2.0 spg and 2.0 bpg. Hankton played for Team United AAU on the Elite Youth Basketball League (EYBL) circuit.”
  4. Isabel and Henrique were both averaging 35 minutes a game. Isabel averaged nearly twice the points but Henriquez played stronger competition...considering Isabel’s other averages are good (rebounds/assists), I wouldn’t anticipate much of a dropoff if there is one. Unless I’m overlooking something?
  5. Last year was awful due to the situation....Nabbing these two grad transfers plus Jacobs/thatch puts “what if’s” to rest...agree next seasons roster on paper is the best SLU talent in the modern era. Remember when JGood got suspended and some posters thought recruiting was shot? Kudos to TFord and his assistants!
  6. And Davidson will be a tough opponent
  7. Speculation: A couple nights before the Indiana-Kentucky all star game, the Kentucky senior all stars played the junior all stars. Pearson and the seniors lost by a point, but he had 24 points and was 7-7 from the FT line. Perhaps Pearson was used differently in the Indiana game, resulting in lower production and parental frustration.
  8. Same here but hope MP still arrives after a prep or JUCO stop...impressed with his character and commitment from what’s been written about him.
  9. I agree and think Jacobs gets overlooked here because he didn’t play locally. We all know who is starting. Top depth off the bench seems to be Santos, Foreman Jacobs....but Thatch or one of the other freshman may emerge. Then again Welmer could be around....
  10. Good find....also see UNLV and the new coach for Evansville were after Hankton in recent weeks.
  11. Best summary on KC Hankton, from Phenom Hoop Reports look at top unsigned players from North Carolina: 6’8 KC Hankton (United Faith) KC Hankton is a skilled hybrid forward that can really play. The southpaw has a unique skill set for his size/position. He has a soft velvet touch and excellent body control around the rim. While he does need to add additional strength, it’s not often to find a player like Hankton that is still available with his skill set, fundaments and overall basketball IQ. He sports over 10 offers. (UTRGV, Eastern Kentucky, Hofstra, Utah State, Kent State, Winthrop, Charlotte, Southeastern Louisiana, Toledo, Hartford, Campbell, and Eastern Washington) Back in February it was reported that Hankton he’d visited Toledo and Eastern Washington, and that he would not commit until after his three other official visits were complete....so, he was taking his time. I question the accuracy of the Maxprep statistics. Junior year he averaged 15/10....senior year late in the season he was averaging 16/8 — NOT the Maxpreps ppl of only 11......and in the team’s final playoff game had 24 points against a team featuring a Duke recruit. Steals: Suspect more inaccuracy from Maxpreps....saw many Charlotte Observer entries where Hankton had double-doubles and 4 or 5 steels. Quick hands are slways a good sign. Couple more things: Last I saw, he was ranked 26th in the state. Sounds awful for a D-1 recruit. But each player in the top 10 is going to a power 5 school...each from 10-20 is going D1, and several D-1s were 20-30. Hankton played on a strong team that advanced to the state playoffs two straight years with three stars...one of whom will go to Hartford....Hankton appears to be very consistent, as he made all stare two years in a row. Underweight much like Micky Pearson, but like Pearson 6-8 and can hit the 3....Seems a good addition for perimeter threat depth for now and a dual inside/outside threat long term. Having 6-8 players at both the 2 and 3 spots who aren’t stiffs is a huge change from years past. And, yes, this fills the JJ void.
  12. He was THE MAN at Drexel. He averaged 8 pts per game as a sophomore in SEC play... I could see him averaging double figures on a balanced SLU team. Starting, winning, tutoring younger guards, playing with J-Good... Perhaps that's what merited the visit.
  13. That was pretty funny ...Yes, JALEN Johnson
  14. With Justin Johnson leaving, all the more reason we need Welmer back healthy. He’s a good perimeter shooter who can also go to the rim.
  15. As of last week Dingle owns the highest 3-pt shooting percentage in all of EYBL, 48.8 percent
  16. Great play & a great call on that by Rammer and Earl, too
  17. Did J-GOOD happen to be accompanied by a JUCO sharpshooter or promising grad transfer?
  18. One could say that about most teams — they play up or down to their level of competition.
  19. Lots of rebs, lots of steals, lots of blocks—fun times next season!
