  1. Is it possible to just order the shorts for his store? You would think those would sell. I'd buy several pairs shorts.
  2. Isn't an 8 point loss technically a 2 possession loss?
  3. Agreed. Although if he inked a similar deal to Freese, he should be getting about $10-15k in Imo's gift certificates. Which should be just enough for one extra large pizza.
  4. Nice, thanks for the head's up on gear at the bookstore (ha, I said library)!! 100% agree with your post just above as well. Would love to get my hands on one of those dank replica soccer jerseys.
  5. Yeah what's up with that? Can you buy anything at the Chaifetz or library stores other than a license plate holder and key chain?
  6. 10-3 in non-con (one hiccup to go with losses to VA Tech and Butler) 11-7 in conference (starts off slow but by A-10 tourney time the team is a well-oiled machine) 4-0 in A-10 tourney SLU in as 10 seed, loses first game Final record: 25-11 Real winners will be the SLU fans who get to witness a basketball being dunked by a SLU basketball player for the first time in years!
  7. My uncle had a job interview out in the Bay Area a few years back. The CEO of the successful company for which he was interviewing picked him up in the biggest POS car ever. It was then he realized even with a healthy 6 figure salary out there, his disposable income would take a significant hit. Friends of mine just bought a small house in East Bay (over an hour commute just to get to the city) and comment every time I talk with them that they are incredibly house poor (even with two incomes) and cannot do much without increasing debt. As far as city neighborhoods go, several of them have seen significant investment the past 10 years. The Grove area, in just 10 years, is night and day. One example: A building in the Grove area recently sold for over $5M. The buyer purchased it from a guy that paid $900,000 for it in '95. Cherokee Street is another great example.

  9. There's a rather large stigma about riding the bus in STL. Perhaps some of that has subsided the past decade or so with metro link and its expansion (i.e. if metro link isn't bad, maybe the bus isn't either) but I know most of my friends wouldn't be caught dead on a metro bus. I think this speaks to a much larger problem St. Louis has and will continue to have in the future.
  10. Took me an hour to find a parking spot for the free SLSO concert in Forest Park. The set up on Art Hill with all of the people, well-lit trees, symphony stage, and lake was a thing of beauty. Couldn't believe I was in St. Louis last night. It's not just that St. Louis has so many cultural amenities and events such as last night but rather that so many of them are free! That's rare. I think you get a free corn dog at the Columbia, MO BP station with the purchase of 10 gallons of gas. Guess we can't overlook that...
  11. Looking forward to reading about Thatch's progression this year. I think he ends up ranked a lot higher than he is now.
  12. I was just kidding in my above post. Gordon is the best and will be the best. The best around....nothing's ever going to keep him down!
  13. Obviously I prefer Gordon to honor his commitment and sign with SLU. Having said that....I guess if we are going to lose a player, I'd rather it be one that continues to slip in the rankings rather than climb them. I also think French will end up being a better player than Gordon regardless of where Gordon plays because of the 'unteachables'. No, I didn't just smoke crack.
  14. Help an hermano out...My "jezoid" search on Google came up empty. My guess is you are referring to the continuous shift to the right in Missouri state politics. If this is what you mean, I agree 100%.
  15. California also has 32 public colleges and universities vs 13 in Missouri, 130+ private colleges and universities vs 27 in Missouri, and 40 million residents vs 6 million. I do agree with your premise that human capital is the driving force behind growth and innovation. We (St. Louis) can start by retaining the best and brightest graduating from SLU, WashU, UMSL, etc., which appears to be happening (https://www.stlmag.com/news/st-louis-millennials-brain-belt-study-pew-inhen/)
  16. That's unfortunate. I assume Inhen is moving to another city? EDIT: Just read he's moving to WKRP in Cincinnati
  17. My thoughts exactly. I apologize for asking this but can he play right away? EDIT: Just read he has to sit a year.
  18. My apologies. Some of us have big boy jobs and don't have the time to monitor every message.
  19. I found the most recent tweet on this guy's twitter page (or whatever the kids are calling it) to be quite interesting: https://twitter.com/curtisburton75?lang=en
  20. I'm not Sshoe and I never said the Rams weren't last in attendance. As I said, there were several reasons why attendance at Rams games was low, however, location of the Dome was not one of them. By the way, you do know that the NFL measures "attendance" by tickets sold and not butts in the seats, right?
  21. Call me crazy but I think attendance issues may have had something to do with one or more of the following: 1. Zero winning seasons in over a decade, including the worst 5 year stretch in NFL history. You ready to have your mind blown? Since the Rams last made the playoffs, every single team in the NFC has made the playoffs TWICE. Yes....TWICE. Every single NFC team (I didn't believe it at first and looked it up - TRUE). 2. Not just losing but losing badly. Being outscored in 10 seasons by over 1,000 points! 3. An owner and front office that wanted nothing to do with the community. Zero outreach. 4. The last 3 years, the ongoing threat of the team picking up and leaving for LA. The Dome was the place to be from 99-04. Geography had very little to do with it.
