  1. Schertz is in my top 3 but do we honestly think Avila is sticking around the mid-majors next season?
  2. The things I would do to Mack for Mack. Hope he’s into that. Not many Twitterheads that would get me excited about dropping names for the SLU job but Trilly D is definitely the exception. Mack would be a dream come true. Give me Mack.
  3. Either way this game is undoubtedly the game of the year in college basketball. CBS Sports Network? Should be on CBS.
  4. No better way to start the weekend than with a bible quip! Happy March 2024, everyone. In 15 years or so, we hope to reflect on March 2024 as the period when MBB's journey towards becoming a national powerhouse began.
  5. Indeed. Had my annual physical yesterday and my blood pressure was high so I have to go back again in 2 weeks to have it rechecked. I put 99% blame on the Billikens and 1% on my excessive drinking, lack of sleep, and marriage to salt.
  6. You can say that again
  7. Norman is essentially a suburb of OKC but I get what you're saying. There are some really great college towns (Ann Arbor) and some that would be on par with living in hell (Huntington, Stillwater, and Olean). Personally, I don't think I could coach/live in a college town where Kum & Go grab-n-go pizza slices and a 60-ounce soda fountain Coke (only $1!!) are considered a culinary treat unless my options were extremely limited. I think Ford truly loves coaching in STL because (despite what the national and local media tells you) STL has a lot of good things to offer. That, and getting paid $2.5M to run around with no accountability like a monkey flinging his own poop.
  8. Anyone who thinks SLU has a realistic shot at landing Moser should he leave OU….pass me whatever you’re smoking. Would love to be wrong on that.
  9. Knowing May, he probably agreed to a November 1st buyout price reduction.
  10. I'm with you on Holtmann and DeVries. Would I be upset if he either was hired? No, but it also wouldn't make my socks roll up and down. If we can somehow land Schertz who wants to split courtside season tix with me and cover 80% of the costs?
  11. Just lol’d on the toilet and the dudes in both adjacent stalls are now wondering what exactly I’m doing in here.
  12. Based on absolutely nothing but I think we land one of the handful of guys most talked about recently: McCollum, Schertz, Holtmann, DeVries, etc. McCollum probably the least likely because SLU is too chicken sh*t to pursue a D-II coach, followed by Holtmann who probably takes a P-6 job. But if we strike out on those top 4-5 I really like Jack Godar's approach of sifting through resumes and finding coaches that have consistently won at places with less resources than SLU or are currently winning a lot at a place with less resources than SLU (Pat Kelsey for example). I certainly don't have my finger on the pulse of the 300+ D-1 college coaches but I'd imagine we could pull a handful of decent candidates using that criterion. Strike out again? Desperation time. Okay, time to shift focus to guys with local ties that may have what it takes to be a college head coach.
  13. What’s funny is if you ask some of those same friends why Woodson was hired at IU they’ll tell you one reason was his NBA head coaching experience (style of play) despite his abysmal record as a head coach. Another factor being knowing what it takes to play in the NBA, which was sold as an extremely valuable marketing/recruiting tool (now less valuable with the emergence of NIL). But they’ll tell you it was ultimately his connections to IU (Bobby Knight descendent) that landed him the job. Not sure I’d even have Ahearn as a consideration unless we find ourselves in a position of extreme desperation. How many NBA assistant coaches out there? 90? 100? But because he’s from STL he should be a consideration? There are probably dozens of other NBA assistants that have equal or better qualifications/skills than Ahearn. Will any of those assistants be considered? If not, it sounds like we’re more interested in a guy form STL than an NBA assistant. Yes, I get that it is harder to sell the SLU job to an NBA assistant with no local ties but personally the whole local ties angle is dumb to me and so would be hiring an NBA assistant. Given the current status of this program, hiring someone with zero college coaching experience would be a bad move. Would I take Ahearn over the Creans and Webers of the world? 7 days a week and twice on Sunday. Again, just one idiot’s opinion.
  14. Me likey UCONN and Houston
  15. Gene Keady still looks like he's got a little pep in his step. He'd thrive in today's NIL era. Get it done.
  16. Easy man, don't talk sh*t about my neighbor!
  17. All of my IU buddies were bragging about how they got "one of the best NBA assistants" in Mike Woodson to be their coach. Now every single one of those guys is begging for Dusty May to take over.
  18. Unfortunately, you are correct. I have to pay alimony even if she gets remarried. She also gets my sizable bolo tie collection. Ha I saw Isabell on there as well as Ross Chaifetz who was getting harassed by Isaac the 2 hours I listened. Thought about chiming in with a "First time listener first time caller" intro but I would have added absolutely nothing of value after that. It was also depressing discovering how young WPB is. Spit out my Zima when he mentioned the year he was a freshman at SLU. I just assume everyone is older than me. I still watch pro sports and think those athletes are older than me...
  19. Not really. It was just Duquesne running offense plays against a practice D. By the way thanks for that XtwitterX link last night, Steve. Listened to it for so long after the game that my wife asked me if I was going to talk to her at all on 3 separate occasions. Sending you my legal fee invoice if she leaves me. What the Hellen Keller is that thing called anyways? Pretty sweet feature/format.
  20. Thank you for the reminder. Can’t believe I’m still watching this s show.
  21. That’s inconceivable
  22. This is where I'm at. Absolutely no guarantees he's gone next month. With each day that passes it is looking as though May isn't going anywhere unfortunately. If they were cleaning house the AD should've been gone by now.
