Just for fun (I know he is not the guy) here are some fun numbers for this NBA season. Ahern is 1 of 6 assitant coaches on an NBA team with a 23-46 record.. Ahearn was hired as a Grizzlies' assitant to help with "shooting development" ... the Grizzlies are last in the NBA in shooting percentage.

Comparing Valley Candidates Schertz 3 years in D1 with a .586 record in the Valley. No tourney apprearances, no tourney wins. His D2 record and the Net Rank of 29 are impressive. DeVries 6 years in Valley, .703 Valley record, 3 tourney appearances, no wins. Will Wade is still the best out there. (Looks like Mack is probably going to Vanderbilt) -

Will Wade is my first choice. Eric Henderson - SD State should get a look and interview if Wade and Mack are out. -

I keep calling the SLU atheltic department asking for Travis Ford. They keep telling me "Travis Ford doesn't work here anymore." After the 4th call the woman asked me why I keep calling. I told her I just like hearing it. -

F... Ford, May and anyone else who complaints of attendance at mid-week games, this town likes basketball and wants SLU to be good...the old fans remember the huge crowds when the teams were good. Here are some attendance highlights from the 1994 season. These were fun games and hot tickets. Date Day of Week Attendance Opponent 2/23 Tuesday 18,411 Cincinnati 2/19 Friday 18,033 UAB 2/9 Tuesday 16,453 Iowa St 2/6 Saturday 17,209 Depaul 2/2 Tuesday 14,791 Dayton 1/26 Wednesday 18,158 Marquette 1/11 Tuesday 18,073 Memphis St. 12/30 Thursday 17,117 SUIC -

As we move on (hopefully) we can reflect on the Ford Era Highlights. We can all agree that the 2019 A-10 Tournament Run was the best part of the Ford Era, but do we have enough to create a list of 10 top moments? Top 5?

Interesting thought experiment, take Ford's $2.5 million annually and spend it on an NIL strategy annually: Three 4-star recruits @ $500,000 per = $1.5 million Three 3-star recruits @ $200,000 per = $600,000 A few $30,000 - $50,000 guys to fill in. Coach = $500,000 - $800,00 (Darian DeVries type) What is more important now, coaches who can recruit or NIL? -
The BVF Returns - Pay $250 to watch a sub .500 team practice
SLU-Geo replied to thetorch's topic in Billikens.com Main Board
If "4th Place Ford" goes, I'd pay for the practice. With 4th Place Ford here I'm only buying my season tickets. Donations are a waste of $. Even if he gets good players he is a 4th place coach in a one bid league making over $2 million a year. I'll still buy my seats and attend every game, but I just know that we are vying for 4th place on a good year, that is who we are. If we moved to the Valley with 4th Place Ford we may be able to finish 3rd some years. Hard to say it about my Billikens but: Drake > SLU N. Texas > SLU -
I have high goals for SLU: 1. 1st or 2nd in the A10 three + years in a row; 2. Make some noise in post season; 3. Then move to Big East. That's my ultimate goal and the dream. Is Ford the guy to achieve this goal? Doesn't look like it and that's disappointing. Chris Mack is that guy, IMO. Maybe the SLU program has different goals, and that too is disappointing. I'll still buy my tickets, be a rabid fan, and enjoy the show, but I'll just know that SLU is just playing for another 4th - 6th place in the A10 and an possible NIT bid with Ford at the helm.

I liked Yuri as a player he did rebound, created a hell of alot of assists and played hard for alot of minutes. I covered his Assist/TO ratio in earlier post but here are some more Yuri stats: Yuri shot 1.7 three pointers per game on average Yuri ranked 34th in scoring in the A10 Games with foul trouble: 5 fouls - 4 games 4 fouls - 4 games 3 fouls - 11 games We know he has a lot of assists, but is the 34th leading scorer in the A10 who is prone to foul trouble and turnovers worth $200,000? I also know that number is probably fake but it does make my question better.
-
We will be okay. Yuri may have issues with Assist/TO ratio against better teams in a P5 conference. He did feast off the bad teams.
-
I meant Lortentsson, my bad.

We upgraded, Pickett is better than Linssen, Strickland, Williams and Jones. Just keeping upgrading with pieces and let the best player start on any given night. Pickett may not take the place of Hargrove, Thatch or Nesbitt (if he returns) but he will play a valuable role.
