  1. But see in that scenario, I want the 2nd place team earning their bid by merit, not default. If they should be in the dance despite not winning either regular season or conference tournament then surely the selection committee will put them there.
  2. Ref totally got it right from where I was sitting, keeper can't be fully above the law. She trucked through Kelly in the same way an opposing player runs through a hard screen on a fast break layup, not allowed. I'd also be okay with the call if the roles were reversed, especially after seeing the replay. That one scared the hell out of me but it was also the result of what I thought was a missed call on the VCU attacker. Thought it should've been a free kick going our way at the top of the box and had it resulted in a goal I would've been real mad.
  3. The next 20 spots in NET often include a lot of mid majors, we always seem to fall in that just missed the cut category and there's always groups like groups in there. By my rough count there were a dozen mid majors that would've made the field if the next 20 teams in NET made the field last year so I love that idea. Instead of 2 AQ's for certain conferences, add the caveat that every conference gets an AQ for their regular season and conference tournament championships, unless the same team wins each. That's the most interesting way to do it and adds incentive to succeed in the regular season.
  4. Exactly. Taj missed the memo on this one. Davidson has been great since joining the A10 and just prior to joining the A10 they produced the greatest shooter in the history of basketball. I imagine his stance comes solely from the idea that they're a smaller school with lesser facilities and funding and for that reason the fact that they consistently do more with much less is irrelevant. Bad take.
  5. Did you just suggest that us MBMs agree on something? You've been here long enough to know what a crazy idea that is.
  6. Because there's a real fine line between minor ankle sprain and major ankle sprain and what sense is there in risking that? Don't need to reaggravate a minor injury, especially in someone who is fresh off the recovery from another much more significant injury. I know what you were implicating here but this was a needless question.
  7. And from my POV it takes a lot of lack of self-control or will power to put it back on again, but that's not my place to say as a lifelong skinny guy.
  8. 30 is right about where I expected us to fall after weeks of disrespect from the media. As Carter said above one voter (Matt Tait, Kansas bball guy) had us as high as 17th which even I don't think is fair, but I love it nonetheless. The other voters, in the order listed above, voted us: 22nd (Dayton 25th), 25th (Dayton unranked), 17th (Dayton 24th), 23rd (Dayton 25th), 25th (Dayton 22nd), 25th (Dayton 18th), 21st (Dayton 20th) ((This one was David Jablonski, Dayton beat writer)) I think it'd be great for all of us to follow the above accounts on Twitter. If they see an influx of Billiken followers they may be more likely to continue voting favorably for us.
  9. I saw him in person at the STLCC game and he most definitely put it back on. I'm sure when you're as big as he is it's hard to keep it off
  10. Dropping 70 pounds doesn't sound all that healthy to me but I also don't have 70 pounds to lose. Maybe it's how quickly he dropped it. But don't get me wrong I wish him nothing but the best, it's impossible to not like JBJ
  11. Not even today. Poole is already more valuable to that team than Draymond is today. We have no idea what Poole said, and without knowing, Draymond's history is enough to believe that he was at fault here. Overreacting to a minor comment maybe. Poole's body language gives me the impression he didn't deserve that reaction.
  12. I don't think I've ever interacted with him on Twitter beyond retweeting his Yuri content and today I found that I've been blocked. Bummer because I like his content and would've supported him fully. Also agree, let local content creators market the program because they'll probably do better than SLU could dream of themselves.
  13. https://www.stltoday.com/sports/college/slu/sincere-parker-seeks-to-be-more-disciplined-shooter-after-transfer-to-slu-mens-basketball/article_2f7a2cea-b924-545e-b93f-8227d82e0119.html?utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter&utm_campaign=user-share Calling it now, Parker is my next favorite Billiken. Kid oughta be special.
  14. 6'6" 230 to Poole's 6'4" 195. Exactly. Repeat offenders don't get the same privileges and Draymond has always proven to be a POS. I remember Grandy Glaze trying to fight Crews in a practice years ago?? I remember the quote being "I f*cking OWN you!" with a clenched raised fist, something along those lines. He was gone after that right? I don't know why a washed Draymond gets a 49th chance, off with his head IMO.
  15. I've hated him since he was in East Lansing and he's never been given enough credit for being the POS that he is on the court. Imagine doing this to your own teammate???? What do we think is the minimum punishment here? I think a lengthy unpaid suspension away from all team activities is the bare minimum. Doesn't matter what Poole could've possibly said, DG is totally to blame here.
  16. On the contrary I think you're overcomplicating. The type of "commercial" that could be shot with a tripod and an iPhone is very much on par with the quality of broadcast that's aired on ESPN+ and would unarguably be worth the effort compared to having dead air time. They could literally air the Fred Thatch social marketing video and all the SLU fans watching the broadcast would be thrilled about it, especially the ones who didn't first see it on social media...which could be many. And then again Lord E is right, it's not thousands of dollars more to produce a much higher quality video you can literally do it with my iPhone 13 Pro. We're talking about ESPN+, a low-production ad would not be bad optics and would undoubtedly have enough marketing value to justify the low cost and effort.
  17. Sure, we can't expect that casual fan to be dedicated to our level, but I bet they'd come back as much a casual fan in the fall if not more.
  18. I heard he had us higher until he read Stu's article and saw our own hometown beat writer downplaying us.
  19. (Even I wish the bad post button was still available for this post)
