  1. Anyone know of a link to watch the games between the Tall Blacks and the Emerging Boomers today and tomorrow? I think they should be great games to watch to gauge RL's and CE's offseason improvement. Unfortunately I didn't see the game listed on firstrowsports.eu
  2. Rob Loe has officially made the New Zealand National Team that will be playing in the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Venezuela for one of three remaining spots in the Olympics. Unfortunately, it appears that four of New Zealand's best players are either injured or withdrew from the team. Therefore, I do not expect that the Tall Blacks have a very good chance to qualify. Hopefully, this will give Loe a chance to step up, be the star of the team, and gain some confidence. http://www.basketbal...in-tall-blacks/
  3. Does this mean that CE did not make the Australian National Team or will they select a new squad before the olympics? http://www.basketball.net.au/index.php?id=302&tx_ttnews[tt_news]=2486&tx_ttnews[backPid]=282&cHash=072714c8ad
  4. Dick Vitale seems to think we will have a great chance at winning the A-10 as well. http://espn.go.com/espn/dickvitale/story/_/id/8013486/atlantic-10-strong-league-2012-13-ncb
  5. Just read this article about SLU athletes that are graduating this year and KC is not on the list. Anyone know why? http://www.slubillikens.com//ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=27200&ATCLID=205427951
  6. Shaka will stay with VCU. The A-10 will definitely be a better conference in 2013. My concern: Will Majerus actually still be the coach here in 2013?
  7. According to this article George Mason is officially staying in the CAA, which means the conference won't likely fall apart and that VCU probably has higher odds of staying in the CAA as well...
  8. Agreed. JB is very similar, but we haven't seen Barnett play much. Maybe it is because he isn't that good, but I doubt that. I personally expect to see alot from JB in the future.
  9. Are we really goint to complain about getting a transfer that scored over 10 points per game his freshman year????? Also, I see this as a good sign for the future of our program. With Majerus' contract ending after this season, I worried that our program might die if/when Majerus leaves. Since McBroom can't play next year, he obviously believes we will be great even after next season. The coaches probably convinced him of that which i believe is good news for our future. A transfer with over 10 ppg wouldn't transfer to a school that had a chance of being bad when they could play. WELCOME AUSTIN!
  10. If you think Mizzou had very little expections going into the season, you should look at what SLU did. Going from a 12-19 season last year to a 26-8 season this year with the same players is what I call exceeding all expectations. (It is sad that you and others had little expectations of a team with 7 seniors and a good record [23-11] last year.) Also, don't mess with Majerus on this board. Your "Coach of the Year" inherited a great team of players, then lost to a 15-seed. Majerus is a great coach hands down. Majerus wants attention because attention is what helps to make a team great. Why do you think your Big 12 or SEC schools do so well? Its the NATIONAL ATTENTION they get. National attention helps recruiting, funding, etc. Check this out if you would like to see statistical, unbiased data on Majerus' awesome job this season. http://kenpom.com/blog/index.php/weblog/rick_majerus_awesome_coach/ I will admit Mizzou did great this season and that your coach is good. I even enjoy rooting for Mizzou. But if you come here and talk trash, we're going to rub dirt your wounds. By the way, good job making history this year, losing to a 15 seed.
  11. I think we ought to find some great way to express our gratitude to Majerus. (AND also find a great way to let May know how strongly we feel about Majerus.) I don't post too often, but I have read the forums every day for years before I even registered and this is just something that I think we should do. He turned down over a million more per year to stay here and by the sound of the articles I read, he may feel under appreciated here (paying the asst. coach's salary, paying for the Canada trip, charter flights, etc.) Let's let him know that he is not unappreciated by the fans of Saint Louis! Obviously, loud sold out games are the best way to show a coach how much fans care. I assume all of us who follow this board (& live in Saint Louis) already go to games and lose our voices every game. I thought if I wrote a letter to one or both of them, it wouldn't mean much just coming from just one fan and probably just be viewed as clutter/junk in their mail box. I thought maybe if we all posted on this thread how we felt and send it in one letter/e-mail it might be a bit more meaningful gesture. If you can think of a better way to express this to Majerus & May post that as well!
  12. Would Majerus still have to stay one more year due to his contract, or could potentially leave immediately? (AKA could he get out of his contract?) I hope He is here for at least one more year.... Honestly, I don't think there is any way SLU will offer him $2M+. No chance. I am quite honestly very pessimistic about him staying... I know he loves SLU, but to more than double your salary, you REALLY REALLY have to love a place...
  13. http://kenpom.com/blog/ See the section 3.15.2012
  14. Does anyone know if Majerus has been feeling better this week? I know he missed a practice or two last week. He also sat on the bench the entire game on Saturday instead on his usual standing on the court.
