One has to think that Fr. Biondi regrets his decision following the passing of Easy Ed. I am not sure SLU did a great job in promoting exactly how significant Ed was to basketball back in the late 40s and 50s while he was alive. All- Notre Dame is one of the country's leading academic institutions producing the leaders of tomorrow. For this reason, people cheer on the Fightin Irish. This will not change due to a few average seasons. It is a part of America, Love them or Hate them. I, for one, fell in love with Notre Damne when they gave an honorary degree to President Obama a few years ago. They stick to their principle's on and off the football field. I didn't see the game footage to comment, box scores are a tough way to gauge performance in many cases (see Cassity). But this guy is only a sophomore, he has time to grow and backfill for Cassity. Patrick

I am excited to KM this year (as is everyone). Physically this is what would be his senior year, what I initally figured would be an A10 POY performance. Our backcourt will be ridiculous! I've gotta fly in for the Washingon game.

I no longer live in the STL area, I do get back for 5-6 games a season though and catch what I can on tv or online. I had season tickets back in the Savvis Center days, unfortunately. Although this canadian competition might not be on the same level as many of the teams in the A10, we are aren't playing down to their level, and we can actually run the floor and light up the scoreboard. This will be an exciting year. Watch everyone jump on the bandwagon this year. Patrick

NH- Agree with your comments. I have some hope in the comments made by RM during this offseason on a radio interview on the west coast where he mentioned Manning's size and hinted that he would see some playing time this year. I guess he has been on campus for some time and any positive comments on an incoming frosh from RM is good news. We just need rebounding and an inside presense. There were times last year I even wondered if we were going to run out of big bodies just to have out on the court. Clearly we have any individual dominant big man in the middle, but as a group of solid guys, I am a bit more positive on my outlook. I think RL will make a big jump in his low post defense. Yes, we can!

I also see quite a few charactor flaws in TLR that make it difficult to support him as a manager of my team. This trade of a low cost up and coming player for the players received, as well as, the constant bickering I hear about through the media before this trade really soured my feelings. I caught news of the punishment handed down the Metz, probably appropriate for the volume of non-sense he throws up (literally) on this board. Is this new form of punishment referred to as the 'Metz Rule'? If so, kudos to this guy for single handedly changing the rules and regulations of this board. To have something named after you is no small feat. I only respond to my above comments because maybe this temporary set back and free time can be used positively. I hope so, I think if he can get some website and journalism skills, he could really take some of his other billiken website ideas far....only more avenues for the fans to get their information.
