  1. +100 Exactly. This is right on the point I was making.
  2. We have had some ugly moments in the basketball program that I would not be in the best mindframe to discuss if asked either. So I definately would not have put myself in positions to have to discuss them either. Now that the program has turned in the right direction, the time is right to come out of the shell and make some noise.
  3. I again ask the question when was the last time ANY coach at SLU has been in the national spotlight like this?
  4. And in the caption with his name when it appears on the screen. And he was just on for a second segment.
  5. I have to ask all those who have ripped RM nonstop for his lack of media presence if things like this are considered an ambassador of the program. This along with the numerous shows and programs across the nation he has done recently. When is the last time a St. Louis University coach of any type has been on panels and shows that are national in nature. Every one of these appearances and participations he is announced and introduced as Rick Majerus, Head Mens Basketball coach at St. Louis University. Exposure for SLU doesn't get much better than that.
  6. +1. I just watched the michigan St game again the other night and Cory played a very good game. He played a lot of minutes too. I predict that Cory has a coming out party sometime early in the season next year and becomes a total beast. I really think he has the talent to do so. I just hope he has the desire.
  7. Very true but maybe expansion means the A10 may be getting off their thumb and getting a little more proactive with upping the ante. At least i hope this is the case. We can all hope can't we?
  8. I don't know about that either. He seems to have a pretty good gig going at VCU and if they will be possibly moving to the best non football basketball conference it may be very appealing to stay at VCU. Hell, he even has a TV gig right now after they were eliminated.
  9. If mich st. shoots anywhere near as badly against us as thy did tonight, we would have beaten them by double digits.
  10. Why Roy????????? One of RM's go to lines is that players win games not coaches. Big Time cheap shot.
  11. 2 in DC would be ok if 1 were Georgetown.
  12. RM has been around the block a few times and I think he knows what he is doing. Currently we do not have any players that appear on any NBA draft boards. Maybe we will but right now we don't. I do not think that RM considers any league other than the NBA to be a true pro league. If Conk wants to play somewhere for 30k and have that experience I am sure he can make that happen. As far as demeaning players, he states the facts and I am sure that each and every player would agree with his critique if asked. It may sound harsh at times but it gets results. It obviously motivated Conklin. He apparently spent the entire summer working to get better at the things RM criticized him publicly many times for last year. Not sure where you are from, but life isn't always hugs and kisses. Huggs and kisses breads complacency and comfort in your status. Rob and Cody have to get stronger and more physical. You know it, I know it, and they know it. RM just wants us to know that he knows it too. I much prefer honesty than fantasy
  13. Don't know how bad it really is but with the exception of the X game on senior night, he has not been the same since before the injury. Kind of concerning considering RM attributed much of his shooting issues last year to rushing and playing hurt.
  14. We will agree to disagree. Marquette was up and down all year and Louisville really stumbled heading into the Big East tournament. They peaked in New York and will be due for a Pitino Stinker that always rears it ugly head for an early out. The west is the best possible matchup scenario overall for SLU against teams top to bottom.
  15. SLU is in the tournament and has drawn the 4th #1 seed and the 4th #2 seed. Outside of Memphis, we can matchup against the rest of the bracket.
  16. Not because I hate Mizzou. I just think that they are the most vulnerable 2 seed as they have been placed in the brackets. They only have 7 scholarship players and the tournament is a completely different animal than regular season or conference tournaments. Mizzou has had a hell of a year and is a fantastic team. I do not know if SLU can beat them but I like the chances better against Mizzou than any of the other 2's. They were the 8th overall seed. Just said by the chairman of the selection comittee.
  17. Message sent to the Pac 12 .................Your basketball conference is terrible......... I love it!!!!!
  18. I actually like our draw. Michigan St. and Mizzery the weakest of the 1's and 2's. Memphis will be tough due to their athleticism but I like our chances with RM and some good prep time for game planning.
  19. All of this seed talk is really pretty silly. The only seeds that really make a huge difference is the 1's and 2's for the first round. After that, it really does not make a huge difference where you are seeded. The 1's and 2's get a buy game in the first round but the second round is a different story especially with the competativeness of college basketball anymore. 8 or 9 is not a death seed anymore. I will accept the challenge of whatever seed is handed us and the opportunity to prove we belong on the big stage. I would much rather take on the 1 seed in the second round and beat them as to catch a hot 4 or 5 seed in the first round and lose. either way, the seed really doesn't matter IMO if you are not a 1 or 2.
  20. After this weekend of conference tournaments I would say that on a given day on a neutral court we could beat anyone in the field. Kentucky even proved human today. As for 1 seeds and matchups, Syracuse and Michigan St. would probably be the best matchups in terms of possible 1 seeds. Neither team shoots it very well and if we rebound we could get it done. In all honesty, I could care less who we play or where we end up. If we shoot it descently and play solid defense, we will have a chance no matter who we play. If we do get the 8 or 9 seed, then we beat the 1 in the second round and take their draw effectively becoming the 1 in the region. If you want to be the best, you have to beat the best. This could be a monumental step for Billiken Basketball. I may be a homer, but Noone in the country scares me if we play well. Not even Kentucky.
  21. I have to second moy. You are definately an idiot!!
  22. Early in the season it seemed like he was deferring to KM and just wasn't playing his game. Then it was like the switch flipped and he and KM meshed and got a chemistry that is awesome to watch. He is a little bigger than KM and might even be a little quicker. I would not trade KM for anyone but I wouldn't trade MM for anyone either. Just like KM, MM takes big shots and makes big shots. I Really like the chemistry of KM, MM, and JJ.
  23. I will probably get a bunch of sh!t for saying this but I think he is probably our best all around guard and has stepped up and made some huge plays in the last 2 months.
  24. He lost the entire program when Mcamee bumped him last year and almost knocked him down. He did nothing about it and from that point on the inmates were running the assylum.
  25. That kid has some talent but is a dog. 40% effort and 60% dog.
