  1. Idk where this goes, but how on earth is Texas Tech “last 4 out” at 16-12, 5-10 in conference (lost their first 8). Nothing special in non-con, picked up a couple recent wins over ranked teams. Talk about a level playing field. Big East should always be priority #1 for May
  2. I’ve never heard Forte was a great recruiter, is that what he’s known for? Not sure I’ve heard much about him aside from his ties to Ford/Stuen. It seems like the Texas “push” has been recent and all it takes is a couple good gets for it to be worthwhile? I don’t think anyone here knows how much time should be allocated to recruiting certain regions. They did bring in Rivera. Between Rivera/Medley/Vice/Zhang/Cisse I don’t see how anyone could argue we’re having issues recruiting all over/outside STL.
  3. Thank you for sharing!!!! If our next coach doesn't have an assistant on staff with ties to Oceania I am out!!!! As far as football backgrounds, Jordan Goodwin and Brock Vice combined couldn't hold Jordair's jockstrap on the gridiron!!!! We need BETTER football players!!!! Oregon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. Bag money not really the antics I'm referring to. Given our propensity for scandal, I would shy away from someone who has already been busted for paying prostitutes to sleep with his players/recruits. Also I think his age is a pretty big deterrent. Would be 10 years older than Majerus when he arrived. Guaranteed stop-gap vs. having the confidence to pick someone who could be here a lot longer if he turns out, i.e. our Mark Few.
  5. Notable HC candidates, per the internet: Chris Mack (53) - Can likely secure a better job. Would hire Mike Brey (63) - Same boat as Mack? Would hire Tom Crean (56) - Downward trend. Similar to Ford reboot. Pass Rick Pitino (70) - Old, sleazeball. Similar to Majerus reboot. Still pass Darian DeVries (47) - Drake HC Dusty May (45) - Florida Atlantic HC Ryan Odom (48) - Utah State HC Pat Kelsey (47) - College of Charleston HC Matt Langel (45) - Colgate HC Speedy Claxton (44) - Hofstra HC/alum edit: Chris Beard (50) - Young, sleazeball.
  6. Love to see you guys have made it to the BVF thread TYFYS
  7. Every halftime stat said we should roll in the 2nd
  8. This was your only contribution during the game. It's just funny to note the disparity vs. a-million-posts-a-minute during the games we are trailing/end up losing. No, I'm not happy with how the season has gone
  9. GDT was a little quiet last night, but don't worry, here come the usual suspects to remind everyone how crappy the season has been. TYFYS
  10. Hasn’t this been the case at UD most if not all of Ford’s tenure? Raised some eyebrows on the team lol good grief
  11. Didn’t you date yourself to be in your 40s or 50s in the Mizzou thread? Still trying to wrap my head around that — please remember to touch grass
  12. If Ford returns next season, I’d assume most would not expect an improvement in W-L based on the likely player exodus? It will be bridge year to ‘24-25, unless he does some serious work in the transfer portal (which is possible given his recruiting/available minutes). Keeping Ford around just to can him after next season will reek of an aimless/indecisive athletic department (or one who tied their hands with Ford’s contract), and make for another very long year on the board.
  13. Austin McBroom and Dwayne Evans had more chemistry than what we’ve been seeing of late. Wouldn’t be shocked if there are reports regarding in-house incidents that affected attitudes once the season is over
  14. Yuri averages 3.5 turnovers per game. I would say 6 counts as "uncharacteristically high", but that's just me. Also a game where he stinks is not "classic/vintage Yuri" - because he is, generally, and at his best, a good player. (I know this is controversial now). There is a difference between criticizing players and being a total ass. Literally everyone on the board is disappointed with how the season has played out - no one is saying otherwise?
  15. That dude has racked up 100 posts in a week all of them different variations of the same thing. The Metz comment was half-joke/half-serious — you and I must have really different definitions of nauseating Yea let’s respond to these with nuance and reasoning Post 1: Hello sir, I disagree. Yuri Collins is actually really good at basketball, in my opinion. Classic or “vintage” Yuri is a wizard on the court. To go even further, and I hope I’m not ruffling any feathers, but I think he makes the team better — please see these additional highlights/stats for more context [insert here] Post 2: Hello sir, no rebuttals on this one! If you suck — get better, very well stated my fellow MBM
  16. 100% a slight I appreciate Hoosier for his historian/radio transcribe posts but this is an L
  17. It's all Captain Hindsight stuff at this point. Pre-season, we're all taking Yuri returning over an UNKNOWN replacement (even someone as good as Ramey). As it stands now, or when you ask this after the season, sure, I would re-roll with Ramey. Nothing to lose vs. our current situation
  18. You guys were pretty rough on Yuri on the last pod. I get that he's not the rah-rah leader we want (basically the opposite), and the critiques were valid, but I just kept thinking how worse off we would be without him. It was 19-15 when he picked up his second foul? 19-17 after the dude hit both his FTs? The half ended 36-31, and Yuri was able to play the entire 2nd half without foul trouble. We don't have to reach on some of this stuff
  19. Yea I mean “don’t let their best player take shots” isn’t exactly rocket science from a coaching standpoint. I’m still giving him a bulk of the credit, and we still had a great chance to win if our offense didn’t implode late
