Soooooooo anyone else's tickets not work on their phone when trying to enter?  I've had such bad luck with the new ticket system it isn't funny.

I was not able to move my game tickets to apple wallet last night.

I was able to move the UMSL tickets to the wallet and it worked.

Evan more frustrating was I was able to move my parking garage pass to last night’s game to apple wallet.

I spoke with the attendant at the gate and she said there are issues.

Finally unrelated to the electronic tickets what was up with the traffic jam that did not move on Compton heading to the parking garage.  I have never experienced that before.

Is the PG of the future not here yet?  The problem I think Ford had was when he took the starting 5 players out the play typically sloppy, the defense soft and the shooting got derailed.  The Racers got it down to 11 and maybe even 9 more than once so I think he was concerned of letting the game either slip away or end up a 5 point win.  Fortunately Perkins got hit the nuts and that got him out of it.  Yuri coming back in may have been a chance to settle things down so the mop up crew could come in.  Thatch overall played decent at PG when he had to but the problem is he is not a PG and we miss him when he is out position.  Ford has his faults like all coaches - they tend to not be comfortable with anybody but their go to guys.  I also wonder if the Perkins thing was due to what Ford said in the post game interview - Perkins has been lacking confidence in his knee and once he started to cook some Ford thought he needed that time to build his confidence.

    100 percent agree good post.

It’s a good thing that my only complaint was the starters playing too long.

I heard the coach on the radio say that about Perkins lacking confidence.

imo while the rebounds was huge, ill take the fact we played fast almost the entire game against another team that also like to play fast.  i.e. we set the pace.   we didnt try to change them.

it was a fun game.   while i expected forrester to be an adequate backup, he was very good.   yuri double digit assists were awesome but the zero turnover was even more important.

as wiz insinuated, we won big, but we didnt even shoot like we are capable of.  we start making 3's at a plus 40% rate, the world will be talking about the billikens.

my only knock was having yuri play that much.   i know he is the gasoline of the billikens engine, but we better prepare for the day he has foul trouble or injury.   young hughes should have played more.   imo he is our next point guard.   give him a few more minutes.

I will add when Yuri cramped up he should not had returned to play more minutes.

I thought Perkins should have been pulled out earlier.

Larry Hughes needs to see some time than garbage time I hope that will happen against Evansville.

The team played like I hoped they would play when the got Parker, Pickett, and Forrester.  Then Perkins returns and this team is so much better than last years.

I have some disagreements with coach Ford’s game decisions but I still so happy he is our coach.  This has to be coach Ford’s best recruiting work ever with the transfer’s he has added this season that should result in an A10 championship.

No one wants to be the one to take a “bad shot” early in the shot clock and get chewed out by the coach.  So we stop looking for good shots out of fear of taking a bad shot, and focus on running clock.  There’s a time and place for running clock, but if we are up 10+ with 12 minutes left, we better be looking to build that lead. Didn’t happen last year, we slowed down and it cost us in the previously mentioned games.

I think that’s gotta be on Ford in those moments to emphasize keeping up the pace.

No shot creators last season and that is why the clock ran down on a lot of possessions.  Yuri and Jimerson were constantly harassed.

Now this team has 2 shot creators, Perkins and Parker who will not be bashful about taking a shot.

Assessing a team based on the preseason, good or bad, is a waste of time.  You don't know what you have until a respectable team punches you in the mouth in the game that counts.

As The Wiz always says wait 8 games until you evaluate.

We just gotta win the whole _________ thing.

You bet we do and this team if it stays healthy will get it done.

Adding Pickett, Perkins, Parker, and Forrester to the core of Okoro, Jimerson, Collins, Thatch, and Hargrove is reload of what was lost last season and an improvement.  Lots of talent with experience.

Ramey was 100% committed to SLU.  He initiated the dialogue.  Only one stipulation:  He had to play the point.  Yuri decided to return. Ramey said “adios.”      This is not.a secret.  SLU staff talks about it openly now.   The larger concern is Yuri still does not have a lucrative NIL deal.

Thank you for the information it is interesting.

I never thought Yuri was coming back next season because of the NIL money.

Like a soon to be pro free agent Yuri will have a great season and a huge payday coming from a big school that needs an experienced play maker in Yuri’s last season.

We must also be concerned about Jimerson next season.

  8. 6 hours ago, Old guy said:

The fact that Yuri will control the game for us by bringing the ball in mostly all the time he plays makes SLU's game very predictable. Neutralize Yuri and they have us where they  want us. This is not the way it should be, let's go for speed all the time every time and introduce variation in the way we move the ball so that the opponent cannot neutralize our offensive just by concentrating their defense on Yuri.

It will be different this season because if teams defend the same way teams must deal with 2 scoring creators like Perkins and Parker.

I believe Yuri’s assists will be down this season because Perkins and Parker will be able to create their own shot.

I think Jimerson will open it up for the 2 shot creators because teams will have to chase him.

Teams doubling on Perkins will allow Jimerson more room.

This season I hope to see Perkins Jimerson Perkins Parker or Parker Jimerson combinations for 40 minutes a game.

If the team stays healthy it should be the highest scoring Billikens team ever.

  9. Jimmerson leading scorer

Perkins shoots the most free throws

Thatch with the second most assists

    Perkins averages 15

    Yuri 7 assists 4 turnovers

7 times 10 or more play

Pickett gets more minutes than Parker

    LHJ 10 games

    75 percent FT

    15 times a Billiken will score 20

    25 3 point attempts

    85 points per game average

    7500 home attendance average

    15-3 in the A10

    First place finish

end of season in the final 8 of the big dance

That was a great Hollywood Pressbox with Frank Cusumano Show this morning on 590 The Fan, with Frank Cusumano, and Billiken HOF'ers Bob Ramsey and Scott Highmark.  Man, listening to that via streaming from 1,732 air miles away, that trio has me ready for the season.  Highmark rattles off "St. Louis U" just like my parents did and I still do.  I can hear my late Dad in Quincy right now saying, "Down at St. Louis U."

Highmark said it's not Sweet 16 or Bust, but consensus was the Sweet 16 is the goal for this upcoming season.  They also confirmed my thought that this has to be the deepest SLU roster, they said 1 to 10, I'd add 3 more to make 1 to 13.

    Let's Go Bills!

Except for injuries this Ford team has to make the big dance.

Forrester, Picket and Parker is exactly what this team needed.  The team is greatly improved and now has Perkins back.

  11. I purchased the parking garage package this season and when you move the ticket to the apple wallet there was no barcode on the front just like the tickets.  The parking garage attendant said his phone reader could not read it however what seemed to be the same reader when going into Chaifetz read both of my apple wallet tickets with no barcode.

I will start using the electronic tickets with barcodes.

thatch is not the backup point guard answer.   give it to hughes jr.

parker will definitely bring back the spoon thoughts "better outscore your man".   he is fundamentally a defensive trainwreck.   has the effort but lots of mistakes.

i guess we won.  that's good.

I wish the coach would have played the freshman more minutes it’s exhibition.

I agree with Hughes over Thatch when Yuri rests and I wish because it is exhibition to see what Thames could do at the point.

UMSL had lots of energy and seemed to enjoy playing and the Billikens showed up and did what they had to do and I get that.

I like the assists Forrester got and he will push Okoro for playing time and that is a good thing.

SLU's big whiffs in terms of gaining fans were the 2020 Dayton game and last year against Auburn. Those crowds were hopping. Games like that are super important for fan bases who feel their team can't get over the hump.

If the Billikens can stay injury free they will finally get over the hump.

My feelings if this team cannot get over the hump what Ford team will?

    Solid veterans and solid depth.

    Let’s get the party started.

This is a very impressive video. I will just leave it at that.

    Thank you for sharing.

He has good hands so he won’t drop many with a pass to the post.

He appears to be a good athlete.

Great idea to throw high to the big guy.

The only concern would be a football scholarship being offered and accepted.
