I think it is an absolutely awful idea to expand the tournament for numerous reasons. But I've pretty much decided to accept that it is going to happen. The NCAA wants the TV money and the big time conferences and coaches want their middle of the road teams to make the tournament. It's bad for the 1 seeds too because instead of playing 16 seed Arkansas Pine Bluff, they'll be playing the winner of the 16/17 game which will most likely be 2 teams like maybe Virginia Tech and Arizona St. I think SLU would make the tournament next year no matter what, so that shouldn't play much of a factor for us SLU fans. Opening Round games will probably be on the Tuesday and Wednesday and then the rest of the tournament will be played out normally. I just think if it ain't broke, don't fix it, but I really think it's going to happen.

its been mentioned that the higher seed would host the first round game.......it can definitely happen next year. It might not, but it definitely can.

Yeah I certainly don't question anyone's effort, you could tell they gave it all, but this just wasn't the same team we watched throughout the regular season. Great season though.

I'm not taking a shot at anyone or anything, but by the end of the season, we were just too tired. I know it's been a long season, but teams like VCU and NCAA Tournament teams still look like they have a lot left in the tank. Is it just that we've had a lot of injuries lately? Or that we have a lot of freshmen who maybe weren't ready for the long season? We know Ellis missed the off season workouts and conditioning, but everyone seemed exhausted to me these last couple of games...... Any thoughts?

well they were advertising it a little bit at the Billiken Streetfest today, so hopefully the people who are staying here will go to the game tonight.....

I'm putting together a season video full of pictures and possibly some video, but most likely all pictures for now..Does anyone know how I can get a lot of pictures from the season. I couldn't get them off the slu website, and you have to buy them off the Post-Dispatch website. I need as many pictures as possible. I've made these picture videos for my high school sports and have received a lot of compliments so I'd like to put one together for this year's season if possible. Thanks for any help

still confident in winning the series.........got a lot tougher, but we've only lost at home to ......Sweet 16 Xavier, 5 Seed Temple, and Missouri St. without Kwamain and Cody..........

sounds like we are playing terrible......sounds like we can absolutely win wednesday and friday.....we're just as tough to beat at home and you know majerus will have some new things ready for vcu after seeing them once....

I don't see us losing 2 in a row at home, so if we can just win the first, I gotta believe its over.....It'll be a tough matchup for sure, and I think we can actually score with them better than they can play a slow-down game with us....We put up almost 70 on the nations #1 defense last night, so I have to believe we can score if we absolutely have too. I'd rather play the slow-down game and win the game with around 60 points.....They are obviously tough and were in the NCAA tourney last year if I remember correctly. They may have lost a lot, but still have some experience.... Can't wait.

Ok...I think it helps him, but for those who say he's still shooting bad, then it make a difference either way, so we might at well encourage him..... I have him at 12-24 on free throws at home since we started cheering for him at the line after the Xavier game....on the season up to the Xavier game, I believe he was somewhere around 46-47%.......so a slight improvement, but either way, not great so I'm all for encouraging him since he doesn't mind it at all..... Hopefully he'll really work at it this summer....I'd be happy if he shoots 65% next year

Yeah I'm in no matter what the price is, and I agree that $10 isn't that much, but it starts to add up.....The non-hardcore fans aren't going to want to drop $50 on 5 CBI games.......It's tough, but I think I heard student season ticket prices are going down next year, so thats good..

good post...100% agree on DYoung for tonight....I was thinking he's played 8 minutes all year, give him 8 minutes tonight.....with being able to put ellis at the 3 spot, we should be ok....WR, BC, and CR should all be ready to play a little extra tonight.... Should be a great game....I'm a little worried about it, but I think being at home, we should advance.

I actually saw him play a couple times in high school...seems like he can definitely handle the ball which is definitely big.....decent shooter, but I don't see him looking for too many shots wednesday......i never paid too much attention to individual players defensively in high school, but he seems pretty quick and strong...he's probably had some time guarding Kwamain throughout the year, so I think he's ready for whatever....Also he seems to me, just from watching him on the bench, he'll pour his heart and soul into it the entire time, even if its only for 2-3 minutes at a time....can't wait to see what he gives us, and i'm really rooting for him.

i know this is stupid, but my friend is calling JJ, J-Bone now because of the bone sticking out...funny, but stupid......let's see what DYoung can do, hopefully he can contribute just enough for the win, and then get some more time before next week's championship series.

We can have Kwamain, CS, and KC on together at times.....most times it will have to be Willie and Conklin down low, with Ellis in there too, and then 2 of the guards....D Young will need to play a little and play well

Pretty good game...thought we were bad offensively at times, but got it done when we needed too Will definitely have to be more efficient Wednesday....No JJ, so everyone will have to contribute a little more... Would have liked to see Kwamain shoot the ball at the end of the first OT, but it was a good shot by KC.....just would have liked to see Kwamain take over a little more, but we got the W anyway..... Can't wait.

Princeton also played double OT and has to travel, should be a long, slow game.
