  1. I could definitely see 20 wins again. I think that Jett and McCall are ready to go. Jett went to prep school and was a top recruit. I believe he was offered by Arkansas and Baylor too. I think that we may struggle to score without KM, but we'll be fine. Georgia, Portland, Duke, Mo St are 4 games that it would be great to go 2-2 in or at least 1-3. Every other non-conference game I think we should win although we may slip up somewhere, but this team is still going to be very hard to beat at Chaifetz. KC is a tough defender and a solid guard who can play either spot. MM could be the scorer we're looking for while KM is out. He just seems like a KM type player. JJ is going to be better than people think. He doesn't shoot much from what I've heard, but he can really distribute the ball. I think BC will be the rebounder that we really need. He may be on the court strictly to rebound. I don't know much about DE, but I think he'll also see increased minutes now and he seems like he could be a shut down defender under RM. CS needs to improve his shot. If he can do that, he'll see the court. CE is probably the most important player because he is our only proven scorer. CR seems like he's ready to go, but I don't know much about him. Don't know much about PE either, but I know he's a leader. I do think if he's out on the court a lot, our freshmen aren't as good as advertised. RL may not be ready but I think he might be thrown in ready or not. I think he can contribute and I believe he was rated higher than CE? It would be nice to have Barnett now, he can really stretch the floor and I think that'd open things up down low for CR, RL, and BC so even thought they aren't as skilled as WR they would have a little more room to operate. I think we could be very solid when KM comes back, but we'll see
  2. If he doesn't stay, the Chicago St. game really sucks
  3. i think we can all agree that the players are at fault. even willie said he would have accepted "community service and a couple games" for being in the room and not stopping. but the school is just as much at fault if not more. maybe not everything said by the reed family has been 100% true but if even half of what they say is true, slu completely screwed this one up. the players probably deserved a punishment but kicking them out of school completely was probably too harsh. just the school trying to protect it's image and compromise, but i doubt that made either party happy. slu was in a lose lose situation, but that doesn't change how ridiculously poorly they handled it all. if they would have taken care of this right away, it could be a different story. also they are never allowed to live on campus again. why? are they a danger to the students? did they break a campus rule by being present while 2 other people had sex in a dorm? i dont know on this one. but if they would be considered a danger to the students, they should have never been allowed on campus this fall. slu messed this one up just as much, if not more, than the players. i hope the reed family goes through with legal action. even if they lose, they'll make sure the public realizes what slu did wrong. i'm not saying that because slu ruined the reed name, the reed''s should ruin slu's name, but something should be done in my opinion.
  4. http://www.ksdk.com/news/local/story.aspx?storyid=221795&catid=3 all the students i've talked to, are supporting willie and kwamain and are questioning the school. i even talked to people who i thought would be the other way, but they were all confused by the school's decision making here.
  5. at least our free throw percentage will be higher
  6. Would he be eligible to be redshirted? I'm not familiar with the process at all, but would it make a difference that he isn't even a student as of right now? Let's say he was kicked out of school for a year, would he come back next year as a junior or a senior?
  7. sounds like kwamain will be back. please talk willie into coming back too. kwamain and willie could come out on top of all of this, if they come back and let it all go.
  8. it sucks that we only have 10 scholarship players for the first semester (kwamain, willie, barnett) but if km and wr come back at the semester, we'll be fine and actually they could be fresher by the end of the season. that requires them staying in shape during the suspension. i think kwamain will, but we need willie to do so too.
  9. the thing that bothers me is that if the same thing happened and i was in the place of willie, i highly doubt i'd be kicked out for a semester. i feel like slu is trying to uphold some reputation that they think they have and they are coming down harsher on them because they are athletes. they don't want people to think that they treat athletes better so instead of handling it like a normal case, they turn this into a 6 month fiasco. i think kwamain will be back. willie.....i dont know. coming back is the best decision, but we'll see.
  10. maybe they got the hours in the summer or they can find some online class to enroll in for 5 weeks. im sure rick can find a way to get through this rule
  11. is it possible to take an online class or something and get whatever hours and then it transfers in to slu at the end of the semester? you could be right about this and i dont know the facts or rules, but since they aren't even students here anymore, why do they have to keep up with classes to be eligible to play in the spring?
  12. so i guess we have 10 scholarship players. no kwamain, willie, or barnett
  13. i would expect this season to be just like last season. a roller coaster ride with highs and lows. tons of potential but it just sucks.
  14. obviously mccall and jett have to step up HUGE. i think jett is really underrated and mccall is supposed to be great. i wonder when we'll find out more details on how long. I could see slu kicking them out and re-enrolling them next semester, but i doubt it. it'll be interesting to see what kind of publicity slu faces especially if they thing about the court hearing is true.
  15. I guess they could be re-enrolled for the 2nd semester. That is January 18th or so? No official word on how long yet. They mentioned that it could get very ugly for slu's administration and I agree.
  16. If what Nate just retweeted is true, they are "no longer enrolled at the university"
  17. just depends on how long. 1 semester? sucks but we can still handle it. longer? big trouble
  18. I've read tweets and facebook statuses from that player about being excited for the season to start on Friday.
  19. i think this letter to the editor is almost worse than the other article "There was a guilty verdict, after all. So now that it’s finally been confirmed, are we allowed to know that there was a high-profile sexual assault involving two athletes last spring? " thats just ridiculous by whoever wrote this
  20. I agree completely. The article completely assumed they were guilty. I feel like the whole time a lot of people have gone with the guilty until proven innocent idea here which is completely unfair.
  21. I would say its at Chaifetz because it's open to the public and that would be more of an attraction.
