Exactly. It is so funny to see those posters on their high horses in total disbelief that they won't be with Syracuse et al anymore and will likely be with teams like us and others from the A-10. But at the same time I think there was some credibility to the original post via a source from Providence that said: My favorite response:

The student section probably had 200 students for some games. But over winter break I could count on my 2 hands the amount of people in the student section that were actually SLU students for a few games. The band likely had more people than real students in the student section for non-conference play. I hope that changes in the future. But I still stand by my average of 80.

They reserve 1000 seats for students at every game. It shouldn't interfere with other seats. They aren't free. Students are taxed for them. 8,500 students x $30 = $255,000 12 Non-conference games estimated average attendance by students per game: 80 8 conference games: 650 TOTAL tickets: 6,160 Average cost per student ticket: $41.39 While the tax is great for selfish reasons for people like myself who go to most games, I think it should be set up differently until we start filling the students section during non conference and at least get a bigger crowd over break.

I doubt any team would put their most physical defender on Grandy over Remekun. Not to say that the two wouldn't be a good combo. I think they could do some damage in the paint, but Remekun will draw their most physical big man.

So you've heard only 10 have agreed? the Holy land post said 11 with Dayton. I hope we can all here some real non-rumor news in the next couple weeks and call this a done deal. I don't want to be sifting through rumors until 2015.

I think Chris Mooney is the best option if he is willing to move from Richmond. He apparently makes about 700k/year and has a long term contract. If SLU gets the bump to join the C7 and is willing to dish out some money, I think we could land him. It would be the closest we could get to Majerus' twist on the Princeton offense. He already has a plus in Biondi's book: NYT article March 6, 2010: "Mooney was raised in an Irish Catholic neighborhood in northeast Philadelphia. When he was in third grade and his older brother, Kevin, shot baskets on a Nerf hoop in the family’s home, Mooney would put on his Communion suit, scribble plays in a notebook and pretend to be a coach."

They gave out free tickets to faculty and staff as well as non-undergrad students. I think that helped. It was a great start to conference play and I hope the fans keep coming and the win streak continues! GO BILLS!
