  1. My advice for you is to never buy a Lexus when public transportation will do. See how big of a prick I sound like? You all will be happy to hear that Willie is doing quite well. He is living within his means (whether you want to believe it or not), has a beautiful family, and is set to make a ton of cash over the next few years.
  2. I find it very humorous that you (and others) are telling us all about Willie's earnings, expenses, and poor decisions without being able to get basic facts correct. The NBA caps agent fees at 4% for playing contracts. Please tell us more about how an NBA player should live though.
  3. +1. It still amazes me that people act like players stop getting better at like 22. In reality most people hit their athletic peak around 27-28.
  4. I will eat crow when one of our Moderators (you) is no longer a prick to legitimate posters supporting SLU, because I do not think you are capable of stopping. Your smug, better than thou attitude is ridiculous. You are singlehandedly the reason many quality posters do not post here very often, myself included.
  5. That hasn't happened. What are your motives to keep posting this junk?
  6. Classic Mizzou fans trying to change the facts to fit their narrative. The funny thing is that when we hired Tate the Mizzou fans trashed him and said he couldn't land any recruits, including Goodwin. Goodwin was never going to Mizzou.
  7. You contradicted yourself in a major way, but carry on
  8. He's actually not a very good guy to reference because he was committed to play baseball which caused schools to ignore him a bit for basketball.
  9. Orlando's is in downtown. The major hold up on Miami's has been due to the fact that the MLS wouldn't let Beckham build the stadium further away from the city. Garber has been quoted many times saying MLS is looking for downtown stadiums. Of course there are exceptions, as you noted, but some of those aren't in total contrast to the downtown theme. For example, Minnesota United's new stadium will be centrally located between Minneapolis and St. Paul. St. Louis was not going to receive a franchise unless the stadium was located downtown or in the city proper (maybe midtown would work). The MLS2STL group was very aware of this.
  10. Sorry, but that last bit is false. MLS is specifically looking for "downtown" venues.
  11. Meeks played him well, but he also missed a bunch of "easy" shots he usually makes. The strength of schedule reasoning is a just a sorry excuse to bash Gonzaga.
  12. It is actually 1.35x for all private schools and an extra 2x for male or female only. So an all male private school receives a 2.35x multiplier.
  13. I didn't give an opinion on him. I simply stated his PPG over 3 seasons. My point is that it doesn't make sense to list arbitrary high school rankings when we have nearly an entire college career of statistics to look at. For the record, I would be interested in Obi.
  14. That's what he was 4 years ago. Now he is a dude who averaged 5 ppg over 3 seasons. Please stop citing irrelevant high school rankings for guys who have a college body of work.
  15. He wasn't exactly wrong. You guys are paying a ton of money to an underachieving coach.
  16. Doug was not a big recruit. I highly doubt Creighton hired a coach to get his 3 star son.
  17. Pistol - Any chance we can get you to post the recruiting updates in the class specific threads as well as the pinned thread? Doing it only in the pinned thread really kills the conversation around the updates. And thank you for continuing to provide such great updates.
  18. Who knows. Like I said above, Ford and Tate are great recruiters and knew how to use this angle to their advantage.
  19. Yes. 100% possible. This is fairly well known among the local basketball community. Ask Drew Hanlen next time you see him.
  20. I will try to make this simple for you and WestCoastBilliken, so please try to follow along. I am not the moron insinuating that a player is committing to SLU because of one reason and one reason only. As was already pointed out by many logical posters, a variety of factors play into the decision. However, to say our 3 year stretch of NCAA appearances is not a factor for local kids would be totally false, as evidenced by the public statements from Goodwin. Further, Crews faults overshadowed the factors that were in our favor, which does not automatically mean every local recruit committing now is doing so solely because of Ford. Is Ford likely playing a large role? Yes. As are other factors, including but not limited to, our somewhat recent success, Tate, staying close to home, etc. One last thing: The main reason Gordon committed is to stay close to his family and girlfriend. Ford and Tate were smart enough to sale that angle and get the commitment. I doubt Crews could've done so.
  21. Hmm. Our top ranked recruit in the class of 2017 has explicitly said otherwise. Was Goodwin lying about that?
