  1. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/news/story?id=5147236 Has not.
  2. As long as a situation like this doesn't happen where we have a kid commit and then a slime like Cal call RIGHT after that...
  3. Who cares where they come from? I'm gonna root for the guys in white and blue all the same whether they come from St. Louis or Bongo Bongo.
  4. Maybe Nate can clear that up, but I really can't find any evidence of that... In any case, thank god he's here.
  5. ACC and SEC take what is left of the BE football schools. X, Dayton, SLU (hopefully) to the Big East. New Big East forms as a result.
  6. Turner played point out of necessity as I understood it. I don't think it's his natural position. He did everything for that team.
  7. That was my point. He was deemed "too small" to play with the big boys. It's not unreasonable to say he would have gone to a high major like Marquette. If he was 6'1'', Marquette would have taken him. He almost went to UW-GB, so it's not crazy to say he would have stayed local.
  8. I would agree with that. 2 or 3 inches taller and KM would be playing BCS ball, probably at Marquette, right now. He's a great player, but he is undersized as a SG, which he plays more naturally than PG.
  9. Big 12 is gonna be a midmajor conference when all this is said and done.
  10. TT has been MIA for weeks...
  11. I don't know of a limit or not, but if it's too high one would think a bigger penalty than just scholarships would happen, ie post-season ban. But in a few years when this year is included, you'd have to think they'd lose a few at least. But I believe the rule is as long as the player(s) are in good academic standing when they leave, there's no problem. John Wall probably didn't go to class this semester, and the way Cal practically ordered Cousins to go, have to think there were some problems. I know Orton dropped out of school to go to the draft. It's interesting now though, that even with all that roster space Cal is having a hard time filling it... I think they have a total of 9 players, with the possibility of Kanter be ineligible. C.J. Leslie signed with NC State yesterday and if they miss out on Terrance Jones who is likely heading to Washington, Cal is going to have a time filling his remaining scholarships.
  12. And of those 18 winning seasons, how many were 20+ wins? Winning season definition would define it as one game over .500, but if that is the definition of winning SLU wants, RM shouldn't have been hired.
  13. Exactly. Unless CU has the same indecision and problems the UO had... FWIW here's the wishlist that the Omaha newspaper put together: http://odc.omaha.com/index.php?u_page=5002&p=1885
  14. I really am not worried about Porter leaving. If I had to guess, they will either hire from within or get a high-major assistant.
  15. Rams got George Selvie in the last round. He was the Big East Defensive player of the year a couple of years ago. Frankly I'm surprised he hasn't gone earlier than he went.
  16. Theres been no word yet on how it will be structured. It could be a 16/17 game for all the 1's to play or they could put them on the 12 seeds, which would make things very interesting and not make the play in games meaningless.
  17. Uh.... no. ------ From wiki: St Johns: 7th most winningest program in college basketball history (1686 wins), 7th-most NCAA tournament appearances (27), two Wooden National Player of the Year Award Winners, 11 consensus All-Americans, 6 members of the College Basketball Hall of Fame, and has sent 59 players to the NBA. They their home games at Madison Square Garden, St. John's has the most NIT appearances with 27, the most championship wins with 6. In 2008, St. John's celebrated its 100th year of college basketball. Providence: won the 1961 and 1963 NIT championship and participated in the 1973 and 1987 Final Four, and the 1997 squad advanced to the NCAA Elite Eight. Overall, the team has 15 NCAA basketball tournament berths and 16 NIT berths, as well as twenty four basketball All-Americans. In addition to producing NBA players, former Friars have also gone on to become basketball icons in the coaching world, such as Rick Pitino, Billy Donovan, Lenny Wilkens, Pete Gillen, Rick Barnes, and John Thompson. Seton Hall: won the National Invitation Tournament (NIT) in 1953, and lost in the finals of the 1989 NCAA Tournament to Michigan, 80–79 in overtime. 9 NCAA appearances with 1 Final Four , 16 NIT appearances. 3 Consensus All-Americans. Depaul: 18 NCAA appearances with 2 Final Fours; NIT Champions in 1945, 16 NIT appearances. 8 players in the NBA, 4 current.
  18. That might be because his name is ATER Majok... Again, not surprising. A lot of transfers haven't been announced yet, including one's on our own team.
  19. This is true. It's going to get picked apart.
  20. Since we're apparently in the CBE for 2012 (Willie's senior year), thats up in KC. For KM, it would seem to either be Marquette of Wisc-Milwaukee.
  21. Is that for sure or speculation?
  22. http://www.nytimes.com/2010/04/20/sports/20colleges.html Maybe it happens, maybe not. I hope for the sake of college sports it does not.
  23. My understanding is they have to be in good academic standing and eventually graduate. I believe the APR is a 6 year average to factor in for redshirts. Correct me if I'm wrong.
  24. Ah... I missed the over 2 years part. My bad.
  25. Actually its about a little less than 1.5 per team...
