I listened to the podcast, and I didn’t hear a reference to Williams, but I heard Coach talk about how TJ has “had a good summer.” Do you know when he talked about RW?

I have no idea if Rothstein is a die hard Bills fan, but if he is not, it would be strange for him to pick out TJ. Most likely, the question was “who besides Perkins stands out” and this probably was Ford’s response. It probably just means that TJ has had some standout play in their summer work. He defends and is an athlete. He can shoot surprisingly well. Wish he could create off a dribble drive more.

T. Ford doesn’t normally lie, so it is a pretty interesting statement, and yeah, I would think he is currently a starter.

I pasted this video earlier in the thread, but removed it because I did not know exactly who it showed, and did not want to get anyone’s hopes up. But now, I think we have blown through that gate. So, this is just a general clip of TFlo (Team Florida). I am pretty sure that Traore is number 8. It definitely looks like him. If it is, he does a good job moving without the ball, setting screens and blocking his man. He also can finish on an entry pass. I am not sure if he takes any outside shots. Too grainy. Overall, it is AAU, so the defense is weak, but he is clearly a decent plug in player. Doesn’t look like he fumbles the ball or trips over his feet (ie. DJ, Anthony, any Crews big). My hope is that he can be a positive backup rebounder. Most likely, he will be someone who plays 5 minutes or less per game this year. However, if he learns how to defend and rebound, he could make more of an impact later in the season. We will see.

He is a human 6’8”, but a basketball 6’9”.

On a related, but side note, the black and gold is kind of atrocious sometimes. In the state, it is probably bested only by the maroon and grey of MSU.

I love this pick up. The main thing that jumped out with the Bell and Diarra players, was the inability of those players to develop into a 4, or provide any versatility as a 4. In the modern game, the giant center is limited in its usefulness. In short, I would pick a Cory Remekun over a Jimmy Bell, just because Remekun could defend more positions and be more versatile. I really like this direction for our front court. Also, FYI, the highlights suggest this is a better overall player than Cory Remekun.

Holy crap. This kid is good. Forget the diarra comparisons. This is going to be a really good player for this team. He doesn’t even look rough. Probably too small to be able to bang this year in the A10, but next year, at 225, he is going to be a player. What a pickup.

Diarra was a great bottom of the team big. If he is like that for a year, then great. We are not completely replacing J. Bell. I am happy with this player, and there appears to be mobility and upside.

I think Larry Brown will quit after two months, in a scandal.

One important thing to note is that Goodwin’s stat line is more impressive than Javon Bess’s during summer league. If he can continue to improve his shooting, I think he could get drawn up into the NBA. He clearly has some potential. The fact that he was one of the top five minute getters is important as well.

It feels a little bit cluttered. Maybe if we had a separate thread for each non-conference game for each team, then I might be able to organize my thoughts.

I hate to say it, but I feel like his start at Memphis and transfer might affect that sort of approach. Might not. But I agree with the approach that I do not expect anything from him till we see him out there.

Hi Dennis_w, my words really weren’t meant directly for you. They were more a general feeling I have about this whole situation. I hope I did not offend you too terribly. Some people have a legitimate reason to avoid a vaccine, others, a deep spiritual reason. I respect those decisions. I just am troubled by some of the other reasons. Once again, I hope this does not cause you too much unnecessary pain or grief.
