Agree. No need to be upset/worried about the second half. The Bills won by 19 and only ran their offense for 30 minutes. The final 10 was 4 corners and running the clock down.

Well so far in three halfs the Bills are beating the crap out of their opponent. Now the opposing teams arent that good but this is what good teams are supposed to do to bad teams. The Bills havent beat teams down like this in years.

A ratings period? Does anyone even watch anything on channel 11? Id like to think a SLU SIUC game could out draw channel 11 news at seven and some pre-teen soap opera at 8. Channel 11 worried about ratings is funny to me.

This SIUC team looks a lot like last years SLU team to me. They may have talent and will probably play hard but with no experince and not a lot of time working together IMO they just wont have enough to get by a more experinced Bills team. This is a game a good team should win and I believe the Bills are a good team. If you expect to be in a post season tournament you can not lose to a MVC team predicted to finish in the bottom two. I havent seen the article but in years past Ive seen them rank teams from 1st team in the NCAA tourny to last team in NCAA tourney. Not sure how this one was done but I could see the third team in the A-10 being one of the last selections for the tourney. So if that was the format it would make sense

All good stuff but this really caught my attention.

This is what to expect from a practice game. Many times it seemed they were looking for that extra pass to make the excellent play instead of making a 8-10 ft jumper. Im sure if he wanted to Mitchell could of had 25 point just on drives to the hoop. As it was he would get in the lane and pass it. We wont see that in real games. Evans looked bigger in the shoulders to me and still has that ability to always be in the right place for a rebound. It seemed that Conklin is really taking on a teaching role with Glaze. A few times he was screaming at him to get back on D. I like seeing that from a guy like Conklin. Cassity's shot looked great. Barnett Looks like he can stroke it. Ellis seems to still be searching. Manning IMO looked timid. Jett looked good. Non game note. There was a guy about 6'4-6'5 in an East St Louis flyers warm up outfit in the first half. Anyone know who it could be? Recruit? Fan? It looked like he was with a coach.

The over managing can get to me too but games like last night sometimes happen. The goal for LaRussa each game is to have the lead and bring in your closer in the 9th. Thats what happened it just didnt work out. LaRussa has been managing the same way the entire playoffs and he has been praised by every sports writer around. Last night he did the same thing but Motte couldnt close it out. I would of left Motte in for the rest of the 9th, I would not of pinch ran Laird, I don't like the Freese/Descalso defenisve replacement move, and I really didnt like bring in a soft tossing lefty to face a crippled Josh Hamilton. If he is healthy I like the move but with half a hamstring what is he going to do with a 97 MPH fastball? His moves can drive me crazy but I have a hard time complaining about his decisions last night when those are the moves that have gotten the team this far. If Motte does his job LaRussa did a good job. If Rhodes gets Hamilton to strike out or pop up on the IF Larussa did his a good job. If jay makes a better throw or Pujols cuts the ball of LaRussa did a good job. If the Cards 2-5 hitters dont stink up the joint LaRussa did a good job. LaRussa cost the team some games during the regular season but last night was just a well played game where one team played a little better.

I don't know Im the eternal optimist I guess. But if he is ever going to contribute, this is the year it has to start. He has shown the occasional sign of being a player but has never had the consisttency needed to be a difference maker. CR is very young for his class but with two full years under his belt I think something will click this year. Im not saying he will be all conference or even a 20 minute a game guy but I just have a feeling this is the year we spend more time saying "nice game by CR tonight" instead of last years "CR seems to have the ability why cant he put it together." You may be right. He may never turn out to be the player we were hoping for but Im expecting a stronger, more physical, meaner CR this year. Two full years of banging with Conklin day in and day out has got to toughen you up.....at least a little bit...Right? I hope?

The 9 man rotation could change depending on the match-up. Against bigger teams the 9 may include more of CR or JM Against smaller teamst the 9 may be more guard heavy. Either way I think CR will get some big minutes this year. He may not put up the offensive numbers but for some reason I think he will be a force on the baords and on D.

They should let none studnets join the Stsations. They are missing a huge market of girls over on the Eastside. They could dance for the Bills from 7-10 at the Fetz and then dance for Bills when their shift starts at midnight right across the river. Its a win win for all involved. The dancers get a feel for college life, the men in attendance get to watch strippers dance without the wives complaining, and the owners of PT's Roxy's and the like get some free publicity.

The only way football would even stand a chance at SLU was if they got awesome helmets like Maryland The helmets are so awesome they would attract players and fans from around the globe. Hell if the basketball team would agree to wear them for a few games the fetz would be sold out every night and Jessie and the Rippers would be calling and asking to play the national anthem.
