I am sure he is right. I think SLU dropped the ball somewhere along the line. My point is that it doesn’t matter. The NCAA should still have everyone either cleared to play or informed they have to sit out by opening night. It looks like someone screwed up on the SLU side. I don’t disagree with that at all. Hopefully they are being held accountable for that. The mistake made by SLU does not excuse the NCAA for dilly dallying around.

The athletic department has proven they have issues but the bottom line is that the NCAA needs to have everyone decided on before the start of the season. This is the equivalent of me giving my taxes to my accountant before his deadline and then he doesn’t finish them on time. If it means hiring more people or working 20 hour days that’s what needs to be done.

I believe you but it doesn't matter. The season starts today and the NCAA still hasn’t ruled on a lot of players all over the country. This should have been finished up weeks ago. There is absolutely zero reason this is still dragging on for any team.

That is true to some degree but rebounding is also about size, strength, and athletic ability. Goodwin worked his tail off but he also had the rare ability to know where the ball was going to go after a missed shot. He would head to that spot before the ball clanked off the rim. That isn’t a learned skill, that is just a natural ability and feel for the game he had. Not many people have that ability. He was also long and athletic. I could put in all the effort in the world and I wouldn't get any tough rebounds in a D1 game. Effort can get you a ton of boards at the CYC level but you need more than that in D1.

Practice reports are tough. Does an awesome looking offense mean the defense sucks? Does a poor looking offense mean the defense is awesome?

I am on the more pessimistic side of things for this year but…. I think Hughes Jr and Sincere Park make big jumps from last year. I’m excited to see the improvement. Im excited to see how Jimerson does as “the man” on offense.

I picked some up at Stuckmeyers pumpkins patch this weekend. I have had the pickles a few time but this was the first time I’ve gotten the salsa. It is delicious.
