  1. Agreed. Though you have to think they had less than a 10% chance of scoring with less than a second to go, that's still better than 0%.
  2. Wow, that's difficult. From what I saw, it was off in time even with the stoppage, but I hate to see that happen.
  3. they'll put a little time on. Nothing to cry about. Rebounding they should cry about.
  4. Good luck tonight Bills fans...see you after the game. You're tough at home, and I picked you in our thread.
  5. There was no smack in my post. There are verifiable numbers in my post. Missouri State is 15-7 and has won 4 of 5. SLU admitted the clock was wrong, and it shouldn't have counted after the fact. It did, and I posted the actual records. Nothing unfactual in there...
  6. Vegas is not picking who they think will win. They are setting a line hoping for 50/50 betting, as that is a no lose situation for them. Nothing but pure profit if they can do that due to the juice.
  7. Good luck tonight, hope we have an intense game, without going to Xavier/Cinncinatti levels. Missouri State looking to make it 16-7 (really 17-6), and 5 of 6 (really 6 in a row) over SLU.
  8. For some reason, a coupe of schools in the Valley have turned away from that premise. Illinois State is the worst offender, but a couple of other schools aren't scheduling like they should either. The A-10 has certainly scheduled better this year, and for the most part are being rewarded, as they should.
  9. Creekmore has worn the boot in between games for the last two now...he'll play. He wore the boot before the last game as well, and scored a season high 17. Coach Martin said on his show last night, "He's fine." One thing I noticed in the thread is a worry with pressing. We haven't pressed at all thus far this year, so I wouldn't expect us to press. What we will do is ball pressure for the length of the floor the entire game. Most likely true freshman Keith Pickens will be serving that role for the most part. We might trap the ball after halfcourt though...using running Jermaine Mallet at the ball handler once he passes half court. The ball pressure will lead to some turnovers, but also allow for some dribble drive chances, and lead to some open three's. If SLU hits them, they'll be right in this game. Missouri State has really relied on their depth to wear teams down in the second half and pull away late. Games agains Auburn, MD-Eastern Shore, Citadel, Air Force and Arkansas State were all close games at halftime, only to turn into double figures routs in the second half due to our depth wearing on the opponent.
  10. Tough break, sorry to hear that for the kid. He looks like a nice player the couple of times I've seen SLU play. Hopefully his vision is going to be fine, and there's no chance of actual damage. Thoughts and prayers go to the kid...
  11. I'm not seeing any criticism alleged in my post. I merely said it shouldn't be deemed unusual for Missouri State to get press from a St. Louis newspaper any time. There were those in this thread thinking it was unusual for Bernie to write about them. Just doesn't seem unsual to me.
  12. Since the St. Louis Post-Dispatch is a Missouri newspaper, and Missouri State is in Missouri, wouldn't it make sense for them to cover Missouri State either way? Seems to me it would. It's the same thing as covering Mizzou, another Missouri school that has a large alumni base in St. Louis. Missouri St. is something around 30-40% from St. ouis depending on the year. Seems it makes perfect sense for him to mention them, and they do run other coverage of their games as well. Nothing unusual about it all from my view...
  13. Early season lines in college basketball are probably the least reliable in all of sports betting. You can make some serious money in intra-conference college basketball. Also, the line is not who they think will win but rather the amount they think can get equal action on both sides of the betting. If a group bets enough money, the line will move. For instance, Ark-Little Rock opened as a one point favorite over Missouri State, and that line was bet so much in 12 hours, that it has moved to Missouri State by 1.5. Georgia isn't great. They're athletic and long, but they are erratic, and undisciplined. Make shots and you can win...
  14. Thanks for the info...should be an interesting game.
  15. Definitely not the best thing in the world to do (if it was as described, I wasn't there), but I can understand some frustration from a kid who just saw his career end. The Bears were very complimentary of SLU and their program after the game.
  16. Congrats on the victory Bills fans...MO St. still hasn't figured out SLU in soccer.
  17. I know SLU always has a respected soccer program, looking forward to seeing how the game goes. Good luck Bills...
  18. Yeah, for the most part. It's just held in the evening the next day, rather than at midnight the first day allowed.
  19. No, I'm not saying he's lying...just that he's a little confused on this one. They used to do a Midnight Madness, but there was a tragedy one year, and they did away with it.
  20. Missouri State has a "Meet the Bears" night...there are scrimmages for both the men and women. As for filling the arena, man I wish that were true. Like most mid-major programs, they only fill the arena for the "name" teams. We also have a small problem with the older crowd leaving games early...usually the student section will chant something to the effect of, "Sit down" or "Game's not over." It's funny, Bears fans have the same discussions about wishing we did a Midnight Madness thing.
  21. At least you have a sense of humor with it all...good luck to the Bills this year, I have no doubt Majerus will do good things for your program.
  22. I think you misunderstood. The part about the flame war was me trying to say my comments may have offended you, and that was not my intention, but rather to stand up for the Bears. I was merely saying, I'm not here for a flame war...
  23. Roy hasn't changed from his days at Stltoday.com I see...
