  1. Don't think it's being televised anywhere, but you could pay the $10.00 and watch both games on the All-Access available through slubillikens.com.
  2. You're right she did pick up her 3rd in the first half. However, she never got a 4th. And I'm sure a person as informed as you would agree that the team plays somewhat helter/skelter, and doesn't go to her often enough. The team took 50 shots and she had 7, which by the way, she made all.
  3. What stops people from posting is the childish, bashing that often follows a post that some don't agree with.
  4. No way this team finishes in the top half of the A-10. I hope I'm wrong, but the girls really lack athleticism, which is at a premium in the league. Shimmy, who I personally like very much, continues to need a lot of maturation as a head coach. I don't know how much she seeks input from her assistants, but she is frequently out coached. Yesterday's game should have been a total blow out. Tech was small and not very good. Amanda could have scored whenever she wanted, but we continued to play at a frantic pace, and never got her the ball. If you look at the final score, it appears this game was indeed a blow out, but it wasn't. I agree that Jacy is going to be a very good player for the team. Shimmy's insistence on playing Pooh, who is a turnover machine, and refuses to get them into an offense, is confusing. Having spoken to Shimmy about it, she says Jacy turns it over a lot. To me, it's no debate that Jacy should be the starter. This team has more depth than recent teams, but still has some glaring holes. I heard yesterday that Warfield was out with the effects of a concussion and Reid was gone from the team (no details).
  5. Don't know if CM was at the game, but he was in Lorenzini's before.
  6. Not going to happen. CM is against for revenue reasons. The Trustees are opposed to raising fees $10 per student to make up the difference. I had this arguement at the Billiken Club Board Mtg. and got nowhere.
  7. While you may be correct from a historical basis, you miss a few points. Our V-ball team barely draws 350 people. The fans are predominately family members, young teams that attend with a few parents and the regular old guys, like me that enjoy college sports and support the Bills. Secondly, while not an indictment of our coach, our attendance and season ticket base had declined. Some will say its a function of the economy, the ticket plan, etc. The reality is anyone can have a good seat at Chaifetz without donating money to the University. And then there's soccer. Attendance has fallen dramatically. I go to the games, none are sold out. Students don't attend. Youth teams have quit attending. The expectations for men's and women's soccer are apparently to make the NCAA's every year or two. In general, while I believe our men's basketball team will continue to improve, the general direction of the AD can be considered challenged.
  8. First, I've been to Springfield for SLU games and you couldn't get the same number of SLU fans in the Hammonds Center, because they fill their building. Secondly, I'm glad to AD decided to sell off what little home court advantage we may have had by bringing in an extra couple of thousand bucks for their brilliant promotion. Third, I think you'd have made more if you didn't run the promotion and charged regular prices. MSU supports their team in St. Louis and always purchases hundreds of tickets. I'm not one to complain and frequently defend the Athletic Department, but tonight take's the cake for stupidity and shows their greed. I'm having lunch with CM and TK after the holidays and I promise to pass on everyone's frustration.
  9. Because all they care about is making a couple of extra bucks.
  10. My take is a little different. I think JS shows tremendous upside. He plays much bigger than his height and he's definitely a low post type of player. I've heard he's not a great practice player, and that means he doesn't get much game time. When he does play, he's nervous as can be,. thinking way too much and ends up a step behind. I think he's going to be fine. He's probably learning what it takes to play for RM and he'll figure it out, or he'll be gone. I say patience is a virtue with JS. In the end if CE were here, JS would probably be the one redshirting.
  11. I watched the game on ESPNU. Really good game. The referees lost control a couple of times and nearly had riots on their hands.
  12. Not to be a jerk, but the Arkansas game won't show you much. They have a 300 RPI, THREE home losses to terrible teams and a strength of schedule at nearly 300. Frankly, this may be the worst Arkansas team in many years. If you lose there, you should be very worried.
  13. Can he go to a prep school for a semester? This would accomplish three things: Buy him time to clean up the class (or classes) issues he may have. Not lose any eligibility Play in a competitive environment It may well be too late to get him into one, but these places seem like they'll do pretty much anything to have a quality bball team.
  14. Great article about a terrific group of athletes. Next one should be an interview with the leader, AK, and get her plan on how to continue the upgrade of her program. I have no doubt she has a plan, and will successfully complete it.
  15. He won't start it any earlier, and he really doesn't want to do it. Only because advertisers have it in their contracts, otherwise he wouldn't be available.
  16. While I agree that this guy is a real piece of work, I do wish we'd get the ball on the block more often. WR is darn near unstoppable so far this year. WR and BC post up hard, but we aren't very patient about kicking it in. That being said, so far, the team is much more fluid than last year.
  17. Wouldn't he still be on the bench? He must have issues with the concussion or something else is up. I can tell you I've learned a lot about concussions, and if he's unable to sit on the bench, he must really be messed up. Wonder of he has the flu or something like that?
  18. Anyone aware of Jeff Reid's condition? He wasn't on the bench this evening.
  19. I thought today was the time SLU would hear if the clearinhouse would approve him with the 10 point SAT shortfall. If not, isn't he still planning on taking it again? I'm not a facebook user, would someone check his and see if anything has been updated?
  20. Hope you're right. We're do a bit of good luck!
  21. If it were a done deal, PM would have said something on the postgame show. I assume he spoke, I was too ticked off, after watching us give the game away, to tune in.
  22. Still looks like a horrible game to me. We're a D-1 program, charge D-1 prices, we ought to play D-1 teams.
  23. Got home from the game yesterday, turned on the computer and we had just tied the soccer match with 4 seconds to go, volleyball had won the first 2 sets and was ahead like 22-20 in the third. I went outside to pick up some leaves, returned to the computer just in time to see matchtracker post that volleyball and soccer had both lost. Now that's Ecstasy to Agony!!!
  24. I echo the other comments. Also, terrific work on women's vball and bball.
